Percy Harvin/Maclin at #11
Huuuge Bills replied to UpstateSwagger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't make the comparison based on size, I meant how he would be used. A playmaker, who isn't a prototypical receiver would be wasted with our inept coaching staff. Put Roscoe on a team with smart coaches and he probably puts up decent numbers. -

I would love to have either of these guys on the team, but not with our first pick. Besides, when has this coaching staff shown the ability to use players in a way that best fits their style? We have a small receiver who can make people miss (Roscoe), when have we been able to design plays to get him the ball effectively? I would love to have a Ferrari, but if I lived in an area without paved roads, it wouldn't do me much good. -
09 NFL Mock Draft, Bills Picks what you guys think?
Huuuge Bills replied to eagles79's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is exactly what i predicted would happen in the thread started by DIE HARD 1967. I wouldn't be happy with it, but it seems like something the Bills would do. And did anyone notice some of the player comparisons? Knowshon Moreno is going to be Brian Westbrook in a worst case scenario? Worst case scenario is that he's Reggie Bush minus the return and receiving skills. Which would be pretty bad. Larry Johnson is better than Eddie George? Are you kidding me? And apparently Mark Sanchez is somewhere between a Carson Palmer and Trent Edwards... Are they even remotely similar in play style? At all? Pretty bad analysis if you ask me. -
Owen Daniels TE from Texans
Huuuge Bills replied to Bufcomments's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
RFA, with the amount of money it would take to sign him, he would end up costing a first and third round pick. I would be interested in sending our second or third rounder to Houston if we could hammer out a deal before the trade was finalized. But to just outright sign him, no thanks. -

Need advise for buying a new TV.
Huuuge Bills replied to Huuuge Bills's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Thanks to everyone who replied, I appreciate it. I took all of your advice and started looking at other TV's. I found a great deal on this Samsung. A 32" Samsung LCD for under $500? I'm sold. It has great reviews, and all of the features that I need. I looked at a few of the sites you guys mentioned and this was the best deal I could find. The best news is it's in stock and I can pick it up whenever I have the free time. Since I'll be in the store, I can do a pixel check while I'm there. Thanks again guys. -
Need advise for buying a new TV.

I'm only going to be sitting ~8 feet away from the screen, so I'm not sure how big to go. I have a 20' in there now, and think 26-32 is pushing it as far as I'de like. Also, that set has 5,000-1 contrast, the set I linked to has 15,000-1 contrast. It also has better brightness (500 compared to 450), and and a better refresh rate (4 ms to 5 ms.) Now granted, I have no idea what any of that means. But I'm willing to spend up to 800 bucks, and want the best picture and quality I can get. The other feature I like is the intelligent sensor. It changes the brightness of the screen depending on the light conditions of the room. The sun blares directly into my room and has always made the picture look bad on sunny days. Although this is why I came here. I want to know if this is a bunch of garbage used to make the set more expensive, or if it actually works. That's good information to know about not seeing the difference between the 1080 and 720 though, didn't know that. -
Need advise for buying a new TV.

Don't worry, I plan on using Best Buy. I've had very good service from them in the past. playing games=PS3 games. -
I'm looking to get a new TV for my bedroom, and would like for the fine people of TSW to help me out. Since this TV is going in my room, I only need a 32' (Nothing bigger). I'm only going to playing games on this set (Watch shows in the living room), so I want to know what is the best type of TV for me. I was looking at this one. It got a lot of good reviews, is a good company, and the price is pretty good. Now, like I said I will only use this set for games (PS3), so I was wondering if I will need any other accessories (HDMI cables, ect.) to get the best picture quality? I plan on getting this new set in time to play Killzone 2 on it. (2 weeks from now) Thanks in advance for any help.

If the draft goes anything like that, I'd love Curry/Brown in the first and Mack in the second round.

OK, you've had a separated shoulder, try to remember what that felt like. Now imagine you're on a football field with 300 pound men running around who would like nothing more than to hit you. Now, on top of that, you're separated shoulder was just hit by a 230 pound RB's helmet moments before. You're telling me you would have gotten up without a grimace of pain, run down the field, and made the tackle? P.S. If you're going to call someone an idiot in a post, make sure you spell check it first.
-
I'm sorry, but this is one of the most idiotic posts I've ever seen. It's pretty clear that Morris put his helmet into Whitners injured shoulder. To say that he stayed down due to embarrassment is asinine. Yes a separated shoulder will keep you down, and especially when someone hits you with their helmet on the shoulder that is already injured. I take it you've never had one, if you did, you wouldn't have typed that moronic drivel.

I've been thinking the same thing myself. One of the main reasons I started to watch Michigan in the first place was because of the style of play. Tough running game, tough defense. I loved watching guys like Chris Perry and Mike Hart. Now we have R. Rodriguez and his gimmicky offense. I'm still a fan, but I can't stand to watch all of the trick plays. It's just not Michigan football anymore. It's like putting a Cadillac badge on a Honda fit. It may say Cadillac, but it's just not the same.

I agree, although I did smirk at the Koala bear getting punched in the face. It was so unexpected. And I better enjoy that while I can, PETA will probably hold a hunger strike until someone apologizes for it.
-
Probably to protect the quarterbacks. If the QB is off on the sideline with no play available to him, the last thing the league wants is for him to take unnecessary hits.
-
I agree that using a challenge as an extended timeout is a good idea (Especially with the possibility of an overturned call). However, the Cardinals already used two challenges and they wouldn't have been able to use another later in the game if they needed to. If there was a critical call that was blatantly wrong later in the game, they wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

Draft Tek Consensus Mock Draft
Huuuge Bills replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would only take Cushing if Raji, brown, and Orakpo are all off of the board. (If that's the case, try to trade down if possible.) And quite frankly, another average pass rusher isn't what we need. Either get a playmaker, or wait until you can (even if that means waiting until next year). Let's face it, we're not winning the Super Bowl next year, selecting mediocre players at positions of need isn't going to help us get there. If we could trade down, we could pick up cushing and someone like coffman to play TE. I love the idea of getting Wood in the third, or whoever the best C on the board at that time is. My ideal draft is this RD1: Raji/Orakpo/Brown. RD2: Mack/Coffman. RD3: Best TE/C on the board. (Depends on who you choose in RD2) -
How long before they go with a double decker stage a la "match game"? I mean can we really live without hearing the football knowledge of Matt Millen?
-
HOLY SH1T!!!!! I'm buying the DVD of this game.
-
WOW, this is a good f#cking game!
-
Why is Matt Millen breaking down football on my Television set?
-
That was incredible turn of events. Unreal.
-
Here is the story. (It has a video as well.) There is also a rumor that there may be a movie made about it.

I think you guys are referring to the bald kid in the Gatorade commercials. He's the autistic kid who grew up in Rochester, and was allowed to enter a HS basketball game and play. Amazingly he started raining down three pointers , and if I'm not mistaken had the high score in the game. They had the story on Sportscenter a few times.

You can say that again. God Awful.
