  1. Okay, why don't you explain all of your inside info. that makes any Cutler speculation over the last couple days relegated as complete bull sh-- then?
  2. Right. A team puts their 25 year old Pro-Bowl quarterback on the trading block, we by no means have a franchise quarterback who has left no doubts about his game, and we have the resources to make a deal like that. Not to mention, for WHATEVER reason, his agent was in town. What a stupid rumor. You need to get off your anti-Cutler soapbox man.
  3. Florida State is going to be a big one for me too. They are WAY too athletic for Wisconsin to handle. The Badgers don't have an NCAA tourney worthy team this year, and they are lucky they aren't tipping off in the NIT instead. That is my one concern about the Cleveland State game. If Cleveland State plays their game and Wake doesn't suddenly wake up and resemble the team they were earlier in the season, I like Cleve State to win out right. But, like you said, Wake has a ton of raw talent and they could easily win by double digits. That's why I think I'm going to make it a smaller play, but on the money line with Cleveland State. I think they can win outright, and if they do it is obviously a much better return anyways.
  4. Here are some of my early leans - I'll explain more about any of them if you want. Memphis -15 (This will rise) Western Kentucky +4 1/2 Villanova -17 1/2 Arizona PK Portland State +11 1/2 Cleveland State +8 Florida State -3
  5. Well said. Although I think Cutler is and will be a better QB, that doesn't take away from the fact that I still think Edwards can be a good one in this league as well.
  6. Okay, I'll sum mine up: -He made the Pro-Bowl at age 25 after just his second full season. -He threw for 4800+ Yards and 25 Touchdowns. -He was only sacked 11 times in OVER 600 ATTEMPTS, clearing showing his quick-release and ability to read defenses quickly. -He has one of the best arms, if not the best, in the NFL, and that can't be denied. That would prove pretty valuable with two of the best deep threats in the league on your team like Evans and Owens are. -He also has a career 62.5 completion percentage, which by no means makes him an inaccurate passer. -He does not miss games due to injury. Didn't in college and has continued to do so in this league. -He is a leader and fierce competitor on the field. (His maturity off of it can be questioned I suppose, due to the events in the past few weeks with Denver and McDaniels.) I like Trent Edwards and would like to see more of him in this offense, but do I think Cutler is a better quarterback RIGHT NOW and will have a better career in this league? Absolutely.
  7. The guy averaged just over 3 catches per game in the 13 games he played in last year. Stop it.
  8. All fine points, particularly the final 4-game stretch of the year. But isn't that kind of a stuff expected out of a young quarterback? Also, Jon Kitna was into his 30's when he had his pair of 4000+ yard years, Cutler is 25 and has only two full years as a starter. I personally think Cutler is going to be a very good quarterback in this league, and is already on his way. I still see potential in Edwards as well though, and I would be fine with more evaluation time. I just think the particular argument that is going on right now against Cutler is an absurd one.
  9. Tony Scheffler had 40 catches and 3 touchdowns last year. Top flight has obviously taken on a whole new meaning.
  10. Okay, so basically what you're saying is you can through out your stupid 4.8 YPC and 11 sacks given up ( ) building your argument against Cutler, but myself pointing out the 4800 yards and 25 touchdowns he threw last year is irrelevant? Makes a lot of sense. And "elite" talent. The only players on his offense that are even close to being "elite" are Marshall and possibly Ryan Clady, but he has only one year under his belt as far as body of work. Who else on that offense is any better than a little above average? And please don't mention Daniel Graham and his 32 catches like you did on one of your previous Bronco list-offs.
  11. Did they also throw the football downfield and complete 384 passes to the tune of 4000+ yards? Or was that the QUARTERBACK? Man, I don't even dislike Trent, and am not all-in on the idea of this type of trade, but your argument against Cutler is possibly the most dumb and ignorant collection of thoughts I've ever witnessed on this site.
  12. When did I ever say that Denver didn't have a good offensive line? Just because they have a good offensive line doesn't make them the only ones responsible for Cutler being sacked just 11 times last year. And if you think it does, then maybe YOU should watch another sport. I don't even know what sport you're watching in the first place to call 4500 yards and 25 touchdowns from a third year quarterback "average". What a joke.
  13. That logic is ridiculous. The more times a quarterback drops back to pass, the more chances there are for him to be sacked. There are just as many sacks taken in this league that are the quarterbacks fault as there on the offensive line. Particularly when you are talking about young quarterbacks. Here you have a guy who attempted over 600 passes in just his second full season as a starter and was only sacked 11 times. That is impressive as hell and is just as much a result of getting rid of the football efficiently as it is offensive line play. And what is it with the repetitive 4.8 ypc stuff? Teams like Houston, Washington, Chicago, etc all had very good running games last year and their quarterbacks still sucked. What's your point?
  14. Since when is it a BAD thing for a quarterback to get rid of the ball and not take sacks? Are you incinuating this is a negative thing on Cutler? That is absurd. And don't tell me that the difference in the two sack stats for the quarterbacks is all offensive line play. Gimme a break.
  15. That was exacty my initial reaction. It's not like the Patriots are giving up an arm and a leg with the 34th overall pick in the draft. If Carruci is on point, and there are serious talks happening, the Bills NEED to at least jump in the water and explore their options with Carolina. Not only to try to get Peppers in Buffalo and away from New England, but at the very least to drive up the price for the Patriots if they can't get him in the end.
  16. Agreed. And for all those people talking about how Cutler hasn't won in Denver, even going 8-8 is accomplishing something IMO when your defense is an absolute sieve that gives up an AVERAGE of over 28 points per game.
  17. Since when do the Bengals employ good samaritans as football players...? Good story!
  18. You're right. Throwing for 4500+ yards, 25 touchdowns, and making the Pro-Bowl is doing jack sh-- in the NFL. Good stuff.
  19. Dude, it is pretty obvious that Cutler had more talent around him in Denver than Edwards has had to work with here in what amounts to be about a full season of work. Most, if not everyone, on this site would agree to that, so it doesn't need to be repeated in every post you make. You can't base an argument comparing NFL quarterbacks on simply that though, it doesn't work that way. I'm kind of on the fence about whether I think all of this SPECULATION regarding a switch of quarterbacks is a great idea, but judging an NFL quarterback comes down to much more than the guys who are around him. And why do you mention his 600+ attempts last year as if this is a negative? Just because they "padded" his stats in your eyes? Do you realize how difficult it is to ask a quarterback in this league to throw the ball almost 40 times a game when NFL defenses basically know it's coming? Let alone staying healthy in the process. And to still have the success he had last year in just his second full season? That doesn't really hold water either. Like I said, I am a bit on the fence with this issue, but you're going to have to do a MUCH better job if you're going to keep trying to talk people out of Jay Cutler as an NFL quarterback. All this is doing is making you sound like Mel Kiper's number one disciple.
  20. Yeah, that's why I don't do soccer games. OT, thanks for taking that crackhead dog off of your avatar. This one will do just fine.
  21. Hey, you can never fade someone's picks because of just one bad weekend! lol Plus conference tournament games are a lot harder to pick than the NCAA tourney IMO. You never really know what team(s) actually wanna be playing in those games if they already have their NCAA ticket punched. That's why teams like Georgia and Mississippi St. won the SEC tourney the last two years outta nowhere. Total crapshoot most of the time. Keep your head up
