  1. I don't think it's being perceived as a knock on the Bills, but I think it seems a little random that a national columnist like Mort would all of a sudden feel the need to announce the Bills camp date on his personal twitter. Seems like something more for a guy like Tim Graham, who dedicates his time to the AFC East. I wonder if Mort is going to update us with the camp openings of all 32 teams on that stupid thing? Not a real big deal, just kind of odd.
  2. I hear what you're saying about most of that. I can't stand the "I'm a Blue Jays fan because Toronto is the closest to Buffalo" rationale. That is just ridiculous. However, many people have lived in or around other major cities with ball clubs in the past, and/or have family ties to that particular area. That fact is why I have always been a Red Sox fan, and I'm sure it is the reason for many other people who root for X team not named the Mets or Yankees, yet live in New York. It's not like New York state is one big bubble, people often have connections with other areas for whatever reason, and develop into fans of those teams. Particularly when we're talking about a sport like baseball that isn't represented by a professional team in the City of Buffalo.
  3. No idea, but it would be a bit weird if he was just stating a fact....Cue the pitchforks.
  4. That's my choice, too. Just has a good feel to it, and it's different at the same time.
  5. That makes a ton of sense. There's no chance in hell that you'd root for the Red Sox due to the Bruins/Sabres "rivalry". Okay. By that logic, how could you possibly be a Mets or Yankees fan since the Rangers play in New York and have in reality had a much bigger rivalry with the Sabres, particularly in recent years. Dumb way to look at things IMO.
  6. One of the only disconcerning things about that chat. Otherwise, very good stuff.
  7. Congratulations buddy! Proof that good things actually do pop up on OTW here and there!
  8. I tried everclear for the first time a couple of New Years Eves ago. Wow. Might as well have went upstairs and dug through the medicine cabinet for some rubbing alcohol and taken a shot of that down. Crown and/or Jameson to wash down the Blue and/or Molson is usually what I go with.
  9. My first car was a 1996 Chrysler Lebaron and, surprisingly, I still miss the damn thing to this day. Pushed it as hard as any car I've ever driven and it always responded. All it needed was gas once a week and an oil change every 4,000 miles or so. Was the most dependable piece of sh*t car on the road.
  10. Chilllllll. You act as if this is the first time that O.J. was somehow brought up in this manner on TSW. This isn't anything new.
  11. A good friend of mines brother started this company/site. It has taken off pretty well lately. He's a good local kid and has a lot of pretty cool stuff on there, so any recognition/business he can get helps!
  12. Kid has a great swing. Hopefully he keeps his head on straight, stays healthy, and things pan out for him. A Yankees fan though.....
  13. So, it's been over an hour. Do you wish you hadn't made yourself look like a complete clown and decided against writing that crock of sh*t? Or were you actually not drunk at the time of the post, and somehow really believe what you wrote?
  14. True, but in reality with the amount of playing time they'll get each game, it may only amount to an extra 2-3 games when all is said and done. It will still reach the 20+ games mark come playoff time, though.
  15. Bingo. Plus Kobe had a pretty damn brutal second half and the game still went down to the final minutes. You're right about the next couple games too, Lakers end it in 6 at the Staples Center and we celebrate.
  16. That's my thinking exactly. It will be big for the O-line to have an extra game to gel as a unit. They need to be on the same page, especially if we are really going to incorporate a good amount of no huddle come regular season. Just gonna keep my fingers crossed each game with the injuries...
  17. If you plan on laying into someone's very broad statement, you really should read some of the 15 posts after it to see if there was any clarification. Then you probably wouldn't have considered it so asinine, like I didn't when it was explained to me after I questioned it. Although I know how reading a couple more posts rather than just blindly responding to one can be so time consuming.....
  18. Yes, I was kidding about what kind of trouble I think he could get into. That doesn't mean that I think he should be spared criticisim about his stupidity thus far, though. Nor should any more legal issues surpise anyone, regardless of whether or not this stupid rumor holds any water.
  19. Good point. Still would be nice to hear from an actual source about exactly why he didn't practice today. Where the hell is Tim Graham?!?!?!!?
  20. I completely get your point, but with Marshawn's history of getting into trouble with the law in such a short period of time since he got here, is anything short of murder/grand larceny really that far-fetched?
  21. That's how I feel about it too. He would really leave them no choice. I would of course like to see them trade him in that scenario rather than simply cut him so that we can get some value in the form of players or picks in return. However, who knows if/what another team would be willing to give up for him, regardless of his talents, if there was another impending suspension that was in play. Lets just hope that it isn't close to being true.
  22. You must have missed the part that I bolded where he clarified his initial statement about Brown, huh? Or did you notice it and still decide to waste your time with that post and attempt to be an idiot about it?
  23. I actually liked Brown quite a bit before the draft as well. He and Maybin were the guys I wanted as far as defensive ends go, more so than Orakpo or Ayers. As far as your other point about the 3-4 scheme goes, you're damn right about that and I couldn't agree more. The sad thing is, it seems like we have, or are pretty close to having, really good personell to make it work, too. Picture Stroud as the nose, Schobel as right end, a combination of Denney, Spencer Johnson, Kelsay (If he's still around), and Maybin at times at right end. Kyle Williams and Johnson could also spot Stroud at nose from time to time. Hypothetically speaking, if we went with Brown at #42 that would leave him, Mitchell, Posluzny, and Maybin/Nic Harris/Alvin Bowen/Ellison ( ) as our linebacking core. That sounds like a damn good 3-4 front 7 to me. So, you're right, if we did decide to go convert to a 3-4 base defense, Brown would have been the better pick at #42 and we would have a damn good 3-4 front 7. Ah, speculation.
