  1. This is good news. These two sure as hell weren't drafted to watch McKinney and Chambers play for very long. Hopefully they are part of a new era as far as offensive line play in Buffalo goes.
  2. Thought the commish might knock off a game like he has done with Brandon Marshall last season, and others. Guess not. Lynch Appeal Denied
  3. I will absolutely be rooting for him as well. I think this is a good situation for him. He'll obviously get playing time, and will learn a lot more about the position from Jim Fassell than the coaches he had during his playing time here, IMO. Hope he does well and is back in the league sometime soon.
  4. The 2008 version of the team begs to differ.
  5. Something started by Skooby. 3:2 odds. Who knows what it will be, just something.
  6. What the hell goes on in your brain sometimes? Thank you, sir.
  7. Anyone that saw the interview have any thoughts?
  8. Awesome stuff, thank you very much! All I can think about now is...10 DAYS TILL CAMP BREAKS!
  9. I don't know what is weirder, Mort feeling the need to "tweet" that or you feeling the need to share it with us...
  10. That's a good story. Really shows you how much people love the food that is available in WNY and the lengths they will go to in order to get their hands on some if they move out of town. However, for $100, I would've made you go to a couple of other spots too and get a real variety from back home. Something like: - A couple Super Mighties. - Large cheese, pepporoni, and mushroom pizza from La Nova. - Chicken finger sub from Pizza Junction. - 20 Hot Wings from Duffs. - 12 pack of Blue. Then try to consume as much as possible in one sitting. After all, you gotta use those 12 cold ones to wash something down.
  11. Ah, homosexually-charged humor. Par for the course as far as Brady disciples go. Please transfer your services: Hell
  12. Those all seem like intelligent thoughts about Brady to me.
  13. Really? That's news to me. From my perspective college football was VERY popular in this area last year and has been at nearly the same level for years. As far as the "Golf isn't a sport" crap, well done. The last time I heard someone actually try to make that argument it was coming out of the mouth of a 13 year old. Cowherd might be over the top and "annoying" to some at times, but are you really going to throw Max Kellerman out there as a better radio option? He is often the definition of annoying when he strays away from boxing analysis, IMO.
  14. Wow. Seems like a lot of people around here are hitting the bottle pretty hard tonight...
  15. I agree. I think for the most part the guy tells it how it is, and although some of it obviously strikes a nerve with a lot of people around here, most of what he says is pretty damn true IMO. The anti-Buffalo stuff I could do without, but other than that I feel like he says things that other people, Rome included, are afraid to say and most of what he says resonates with me. Particularly during topics involving pro and college football. He is right on in those areas, especially college. JMHO.
  16. You can't argue with how good those quarterbacks are, but also look at the coaches that have accompanied them throughout the bulk of their careers: Tom Brady: Bill Belichick Peyton Manning: Tony Dungy Phillip Rivers: Norv Turner and Marty Schottenheimer Ben Roethlisberger: Bill Cowher and Mike Tomlin Jay Cutler: Mike Shannahan Eli Manning: Tom Coughlin A pretty damn impressive list of coaches right there. Belichick, Dungy, Schottenheimer, Cowher, Shannahan, and Coughlin all have a shot at getting into the Hall of Fame. Mike Tomlin is ALREADY a top 5 coach in this league, IMO. Norv Turner...Eh...One of these things is not like the other but you get the point.
  17. BINGO. I think you're right on with these thoughts. To me, that pretty much sums up why the Bills have ended up with a mediocore record for the past three seasons. Last season imparticular. Coaching (Not just Jauron, but Turk last season as well, whom I'm pretty confident will improve this season) was the difference between 7-9 and 10-6 last season. The talent was there on both sides of the ball, it was simply not utilized correctly much of the time and that, combined with horrible in-game decisions involving usage time outs, late game clock management, play calling in key situations, etc is what held this team back last year. IMO, they win the Cleveland game on MNF, San Francisco, and at the Jets if some VERY MINOR AND ELEMENTARY correct coaching decisions are made. I agree with you that they have more talent on paper this year, and are also more experienced at every position besides the offensive line. I really hope that Jauron doesn't end up getting in the way of this team in '09 like he most certainly did last season.
  18. Yes, I have read that as well about Stallworth's incident. This is a very interesting aspect about the concept of drunken driving. A couple of years ago, a friend of a friend woke up at around 8-8:30 in the morning in order to drive a friend home who stayed over his house after a night of partying. This after sleeping for about 5 hours and apparently feeling sober in the morning. To make a relatively long story short, he was pulled over while in the neighborhood where his friend lived, the officer suspected that he was impaired by alcohol, and he blew a .12 and was charged with DUI. To answer your question, I don't often think about what my blood alcohol level may be at all the morning after a night of drinking, and generally, I am up pretty early driving to work. I'm sure most people don't take it into consideration in the least.
  19. Exactly. Although it's obviously not a smart thing to do, as well as against the law, most people still get behind the wheel when they've had a bit too much from time to time. Myself included, although it's not an often occurence at all. It is stupid, but I wouldn't hesitate to guess that 75% of the people on this board that are drinkers have gotten behind the wheel at or above the legal limit at least a couple of times in their life. And that's a conservative guess, IMO.
  20. First of all, sharing logic and opinions are two different things. I was questioning the ridiculous logic that you use that involves using the NHL to determine who you decide to root for/against in a completely different sport. Baseball in this case. The only opinion that I'm questioning is whether the Bruins are actually still that much more of a Sabres "rival" than the Rangers at this point. Sabres/Rangers games (Including a VERY good 6 game playoff series in '06-'07) have been much more important than any Sabres/Bruins games in the last 5+ years, and the intensity has been much higher, IMO. That doesn't change the fact that the logic behind deciding what baseball team you're going to root for based solely on hockey "rivalries" is a bit odd.
  21. To me, it's absolutely unreal that Eric Moulds is on that list. He was a very good, productive receiver who put up numbers while having little help as far as the quarterback position is concerned. Also didn't have a truly legit threat opposite of him to take away some attention other than one fluke year of outstanding play from Peerless Price. I just don't get that assertion at all.
  22. Exactly. You have to take all of these "reports" coming out right now with a grain of salt. According to many, Ellis Lanskter has been the most impressive rookie at our camp. Raise your hand if you think that he's going to be making the most noise of the group in a couple months.
  23. 80 degrees and sunny here in Niagara County right now. Hoping it stays this way...Wouldn't want to have our bar league softball game cancelled tonight!
