  1. If you have any hope/optimism for the Bills in 2009, steer clear of Sully's chats. His pessimism is redundant.
  2. Way to answer the OP's question.
  3. Good to hear that you're recovering John! I was in a pretty bad accident a few months back that left me with some lower back problems. Nothing too serious, but physical therapy/chiro for a month afterwards really helped me as well. My father had a nasty bulging disc in his back a few years ago that had him in a similar state for a few days. Not so fun. Glad they got things straightened out for you, literally and figuratively!
  4. Excellent point, but it seems as though he isn't very concerned with any attempts at proving that part.
  5. All this means is more Canadian beer drinking in search of those damn gold cans. Ah the spirit of a search!
  6. The Keg Steakhouse is absolutely fantastic. Everytime I've been there I've found myself saying that it was the best steak I had ever had. There are a couple different locations throughout Toronto. The two I've been to are on Yonge Street and York Street.
  7. Just a guess, but that was probably because the people reacting in the deep south were both racist and pro-segregation. Possibly extremely on both accounts depending on the person. There's no wide dividing movement or happening behind peoples disdain of Ted Kennedy like the civil rights battle with MLK.
  8. That's an awful comparison. Ted Kennedy had a hand in passing a lot of legislation. Excellent. That doesn't change the fact that he wasn't exactly a solid person himself. Martin Luther King Jr. was a great leader in his life's work, the civil rights movement. The difference - MLK was, by all accounts, just as great of a person himself as well.
  9. Precisely. Call me a cynic, jerk, a**hole, whatever, but it bothers me how much ball washing goes on for someone like TK when they pass away. RIP, but the guy (IMO) was arrogant, pompous, self-serving, stubborn, and in general not that good of a person at all for much of the time when he lived, so that's exactly how I'm going to dictate how I react to his passing away. I'd much rather pay more attention and respect to good people losing their lives rather than Ted Kennedy or Michael Jackson types. I guess that's just not as interesting, though.
  10. You're so predictable that it's almost boring. What a completely elementary "criticism" of Giuliani.
  11. This is such a useless thread. I'm surprised some posters around here aren't still starting new threads discussing the botched Mike Williams selection everytime Bryant McKinnie pancakes a defensive end. hell, at least those used to be comparing two guys who played the same damn position.
  12. Good question. That would NEVER happen in a league with people who actually knew what they were doing this year. As far as the team overall, I love the runningbacks as well. Really like Boldin, he would have put up the same numbers as Fitz in almost every category last year if he hadn't missed time after that hit he took against the Jets. Bowe I'm not that high on because I think Cassel is going to tank, but I do like DeSean Jackson quite a bit. I don't like Cutler all that much because of his lack of outside threats, but I think Olsen is going to have a huge year because of just that. Cutler liked throwing the ball to Scheffler often in Denver, too.
  13. Bad news for Starks and the program this year. However, at least its a shoulder injury and not something like an ACL or other serious injury in his lower body that would affect him more long-term as a runningback. Hopefully the surgery is successful, he can rehab and work hard all off-season, and still get some looks from NFL teams in the 2010 draft.
  14. Schefter is, hands down, the best at breaking stories like this first IMO. I trust his word over those of all others in the business.
  15. Just fell hook, line, and sinker to Crayonz.
  16. It isn't very often that rookie defensive ends coming in and make any sort of consistent impact. It's just one of those positions that usually takes a solid year + for young players to learn how to play at an NFL-level, even ones that turn out to be great. Not every guy can have a Kearse-like impact in his first year. Ellis played GREAT last week and has, by most accounts, shown a great deal of improvement from last year to this offseason. Give the kid a break, for now at least. If he was showing little or no signs of progress right now going into his 2nd year, I would understand a post such as this. BTW, did your kitty point his 9 mm at you for that post???
  17. I liked him as a player, too. I thought he was very solid whenever he was called upon and seemed to be in the right place to make a play most of the time. I remember I was kind of sad to see him go.
  18. I didn't think of it like that initially, that's an interesting point. That being said, you can't prop up or sugarcoat how effective he was against the Bears on Saturday. He played a damn good game.
  19. Is that really the best you got? The guy is holding out of training camp and apparently that means that his skills on the football field will not translate in the NFL like the proverbial example of Flowers you so graciously provided. Good stuff. Can we PLEASE wait until we see Maybin play a game, hell even a down, in this league before we throw the bust label on him and start crying for Orakpo and the others?
  20. Bingo. As if anyone, including the Bills F.O., could have predicted such a hold out at the time of the draft in April.
  21. Wanna change my hundred dollar bill while you're there?
  22. What a brutal, brutal draft pick this guy was. He didn't seem anywhere near talented enough to contribute in this league from day one.
