  1. The only player from that article that I'm hoping doesn't lose a job is Kyle Williams. He's been playing great IMO.
  2. In this day and age, particularly if you are going away from home for school, I really don't see how that's possible. If you find a good plan, and use it accordingly, cell phones shouldn't be such a huge expense anyways.
  3. I went away from home for school during my freshman year, here are a few things I did to keep costs down: -Every night before you go to bed (or pass out, depends on the night!) throw your spare change from the day into a jar or something of the sort. Your usually spending money on something pretty much daily - groceries, beer, fast food, books, etc. Usually your bound to have a decent amount of change at the end of the day. I would throw mine in the same place each night, and usually by the end of each month I'd cash it in for about $25-30. Not too bad. -Even if you have a meal plan, keep a ton of extra food and drinks in your room at all times. Helps you avoid going out and paying to get something to eat during hours when the dining halls are closed. And those are the times when you are usually the most hungry, depending on your habits. -Keystone, Busch, Pabst, Milwaukee's Best, etc. - Drink cheap beer in your first college years, especially before going out to house parties, bars, clubs, etc. It'll cut down costs big time over a semester, and will give you a better appreciation of what really constitutes good beer when you stop worrying about saving money and binge drinking all the time! -Avoid buying books from the school bookstore at all costs. Half.com is a great site with new and used books that almost always seem to beat the school's prices by a pretty marginal amount. Try to buy used online, and sell them back online at the end of the semester. Book costs can be killer if you don't try to use every avenue to find the best possible prices. -Use a condom. Getting a girl pregnant during your first years of college is a monetary disaster.
  4. ALDS Sox over Angels in 4 Yankees over Twins in 4 NLDS Cardinals over Dodgers in 5 Phillies over Rockies in 3 ALCS Sox over Yankees in 7 Cardinals over Phillies in 6 World Series Sox over Cardinals in 6 What's your take?
  5. Losman did suck, but Edwards is beyond struggling right now, and it's painfully obvious.
  6. I honestly cannot believe that there are some people around here that truly believe that Trent Edwards is anywhere near the quarterback that Aaron Rodgers is right now. It is not even close at any level of the game you could possibly analyze. It takes watching about 15 minutes of both a Bills and Packers game to figure this out. Another poster hit the nail right on the head when he talked about Edwards' very average play even in games that come out on the winning end. When is the last time you found yourself saying at the end of the game that "Trent won us that game"? I can't think of the last time. Maybe last year against San Diego? Even that's a stretch, as the defense had to come up with a huge stand near the endzone to preserve the win. Talk about rose-colored glasses around here with this guy. Just because Losman sucked and and you hated him when he was here doesn't mean that Trent is any better at this point. They both have a pretty long list of individual flaws in their game. Trent's flaws as a quarterback are becoming more and more evident by the game.
  7. I hate to echo what the last poster said, but you're exactly right. Great post.
  8. Are you sure aren't mistaking Tyler Myers for Henrik Tallinder? Because I actually have watched the entire game twice, and the player you are describing is Tallinder, not Myers. In my view, Myers was almost always in the correct position and played both the puck and the body well. For the majority of his first career start, he was the best defenseman the Sabres had out on the ice Saturday night, IMO. Nowhere near lost like #10 on Buffalo, that's for sure.
  9. You're exactly right. Same thing I was thinking during the game when Wake was continually beating Chambers play after play after play. Removing him would have been one thing, but how about at least putting a tight end or running back on his side for extra help in protection?!?!? Is that such a novel idea? Obviously it is for Jauron and Co., because he didn't even take that measure. Much less pulling Chambers' sorry ass out of the ball game.
  10. Then you were watching the wrong game because Myers was very impressive for the most part of his first NHL regular season game. He was very calm and collected in his own end, made the right decision when he had the puck, showed both his physicality and skill multiple times, while also proving that he can take a hit or two. Also, when Miller got ran a little bit after covering up the puck (I believe it was in the 2nd period) Myers was the first guy there to take down and rough up the opposing player who was the culprit. Not many defensemen on this team have done on a consistent basis over the past few seasons, and that's why our team has been soft as hell. I love what I saw from this kid in his first game and hope it continues. I really can't understand the sentiment of you thinking he looked lost. I know it's an opinion, but I'm struggling to find how that opinion of Myers could've been formed from that game.
  11. Bill- I agree with most of your points about yesterday's game, but how do you rip Jonathon Scott for his play and give Chambers a free pass? Scott wasn't great yesterday by any means, but Kirk Chambers played one of the worst games I have ever witnessed by an offensive tackle, on the Bills or otherwise. Can somebody tell me who exactly Cameron Wake is and how the hell he got 3 sacks yesterday? Not to mention constant pressure when he wasn't finishing the deal and bringing Trent down? Chambers should be ashamed of himself for the way he played yesterday. Scott wasn't good at left tackle, but was going against better pass rushers on that side at a more difficult position to play. Chambers should be cut after that performance at RT. JMO.
  12. Since I have absolutely no clue, here's to you being right about that!
  13. Yeah, thank God we have people pointing things like this out for us. If not, we may have forgotten that he's a rookie who missed most of his first training camp, and is playing multiple roles in a new system, plus special teams. TGIF.
  14. That's for sure. They didn't have a prayer of stopping Eric Norwood last night. That kid looks like a damn good player.
  15. Actually, no. Not yet at least. He has thrown one touchdown and one pick through 2 games. One of which was against San Jose St., whom half the people on this board could probably top 300 yards against.
  16. Right. That has a lot to do with Donte Whitner. As if we passed on everyone's man crush Ngata that year due to character issues.
  17. Care to elaborate at all? You really need to discard your own rose colored glasses and see things with an open mind once in a while. So what if you hated the pick? That shouldn't stop you from embracing the player that is on your team from that point on, recognizing that he is becoming a very good safety in this league, and realizing that extenuating circumstances regarding the multiple positions he has been forced to play early on in his career may very well have been the only thing preventing this from happening sooner.
  18. Stop singling up Keith Ellison on linebackers? Guy has been GREAT in run support, which has been a pleasant surprise, but he can't cover athletic tight ends worth a lick.
  19. Sorry, I often to forget to look at anything other than the chest on Dib's girls. That being said, I sure as hell wouldn't kick her out of bed for that face. Orientals are oh so seductive....
  20. Not since Ricky Williams. Although he obviously had other "problems". How 'bout my personal favorite "Ironhead" Craig Heyward? Anyone remember that riveting commercial he did for Zest?
  21. Dib has to win. That's the best set I've seen on one of his avatars in a long time. And that's saying A LOT.
  22. It doesn't matter what the Dolphins record is going into the game, every divisional game is huge. Just ask the 2008 version of the Bills.
  23. I'm glad all this was brought back up. It needs to happen, if only for the sanity of most on this board to be proven once in a while.
  24. I would, but then I would have to somehow cover up my ass cheek tattoo....
