  1. Good thinking. I'd take either. McClain is special, though; we missed out on Willis and probably will on McClain too, picking ninth.
  2. Davis looked good in his bowl game. Bulaga of Iowa looked even better. Would take either at 9, if mcClain the LB gone.
  3. If Mangini is fired, why shouldn't he be considered? He is from belichick's tree and understands how to win in the AFC East. He won his last four games in Cleveland with less talent than we have. I'm hoping he's fired. Gives us one extra option. I don't get the hate for the guy. He runs a tight ship and don't we want that after Camp Jauron?
  4. That other teams want our fired coaches reveals one thing: Modrak and Guy are the ones who screwed the pooch and should have been first to get Buddy's toe. They have brought in garbage players.
  5. McClain or Bulaga. If both are there are #9, tough choice. Bulaga is a great run blocker. Used to cold weather too.
  6. Anthony Davis is another first round OT that wouldn't be a reach. We'll have our pick with the exception of Okung. Wouldn't include Bradford as a top ten pick. Too risky, a la McGahee.
  7. Goodell is upset because it reveals a huge flaw in the league's competitive fabric. (Polian has been deeply involved in the competitive committee for years) This year it unfairly ousted Houston and Pittsburgh from the playoffs. If it was the Bills, this board would be boiling.
  8. Probably gone in top five: Suh, Clausen, Gerald McCoy, Okung, Berry. Might be gone: the next best OT (there are about five after Okung worth a first round pick), Rolando McClain, Dez Bryant, Sam Bradford We'll have a good bunch of OTs left to choose from, at worst. We probably will lose a chance to get McClain because of the win over the Colts.
  9. Even Cary Harris, in his first game, is better than the #8 pick. Thanks, Levy.
  10. Yeah, we're between 7 and 9 right now. Even if Oakland and Seattle win, we're probably still 9th. So the win backed us a couple.
  11. The more likely scenario; Cowher to carolina, Fox to Buffalo. Cowher and his wife live down there.
  12. Yep. I'd put Billick and Rivera ahead of Schot, who has a great Oline to work with. Let's hope one of them will even consider the job.
  13. If we go to a 3-4, we'll need McClain in first and a DT or OT close behind (whichever isn't addressed in FA).
  14. Don't think it would be that difficult, especially if we drafted McClain and put him inside with Poz. Mitchell and Maybin outside. You would need a NT either in the draft or FA, because Williams would be a better DE than NT in the 3-4. Regardless, it would beat a Tampa 2. Our current strength is our secondary. Have them man-up more instead of that stupid zone. Rivera would bring his San Diego 3-4 scheme for sure.
  15. Rivera was a hot commodity back in 06-07 when his defense basically carried the Bears to the Super Bowl. (They had no real QB). He didn't get a HC job so moved to the Chargers, where they have been 17-6 with him as DC (and Rivers as QB). At the very least, we would have a better defense and hopefully a 3-4. I'd prefer Billick, but Rivera would be a big step up. Hopefully, he knows an OC who can actually design an NFL offense.
  16. It has become a station mainly for hockey fans. All on-air personnel are love-hockey-first guys and since they got the Sabres games, they are basically cheerleaders. They cover the Bills grudgingly. Obviously, they are betting on the Bills leaving town.
  17. When Nix was hired, I quickly thought of Rivera, but then nix underlined the importance of head coaching experience at his press conference. Puzzling. Maybe he just giving a guy he knows and worked with the courtesy of an interview. Hope they don't rush this. I'd wait for the playoffs to end if we got someone like Rivera and a top OC.
  18. Wow, I could have written those thoughts myself. Good to see there is another fan seeing what I have seen. Still concerned - however - about those concussions.
  19. Could not believe that Schopp ADMITTED to a caller that the reason they put the hate on the Bills is because they are not media-friendly. I knew he was immature, but that is hard to believe. I mean, swallow your pride and do your job. On the other hand, Schoop and GR are such hockey-loving boys that I doubt if any approach by the Bills would change them. They took away their radio broadcast rights and GR switched to the Sabres. In business and youth, it's all about getting back. Heard Schopp call the Bills an "antique" organization, but wanted Marty S as head coach. Now, that's true intelligence.
  20. Schoop calls the Bills an "antique organization" but wants Schottenheimer as coach! Great logic.
