  1. Banta Cain has been re-signed by the Pats. No word yet on Alexander.
  2. The issue with Thomas is he was outspoken about his dissatisfaction with the trading of Seymour. Problem is Thomas isn't in position to be making such complaints. Especially not publicly as he did. So, he's being punished now by BB during a time in the schedule where its most convenient.
  3. The Pats cut both LB's Banta Cain and Alexander in order to re-sign them to an extension which they both are expected to sign sometime today. League rules prohibit teams from renegotiating player contracts more trhan once per season and both Banta Cain and Alexander fall into that category. So, the Pats cut them with the understanding that they'll re-sign them to a new deal.
  4. It's not unbelievable at all. Some players have played without ACL's. Philip Rivers played in the playoffs with a torn ACL. It is rumoured that John Elway played his entire NFL career minus his ACL.
  5. Brady walked off the field to the locker room and down a flight of stairs with his torn ACL and MCL.
  6. But those guys didn't have to deal with a 2nd ACL tear in their left knee when over 30 like what Jenkins is facing.
  7. 350# DT's age in dog years but if Jenkins is a quick healer I suppose he could get on the field at some point late next year when he's 31. But at that age, and coming off a 2nd ACL tear in the same knee, I would think it's quite possible the guy's career is in serious jeopardy.
  8. Another torn ACL for Jenkins? That'll be the 2nd one on that leg and another on the other one. At his age he might well be done for his career.
  9. The Pats could use Parrish as a PR.
  10. Tom Brady passed for as many TD's (5) as Trent Edwards has passed for in 5+ games.
  11. I think he's simply stating the obvious ...... if you hit me below the waist then be prepared to have a flag thrown your way.
  12. The "steroid" Steelers and Raiders dynasties. Now there are two NFL organizations to truly appreciate because of their lawful ways.
  13. Well, we certainly have some curious and interesting rationale being spewed forth don't we? I'm thinking the reason why so many Bills fans are obsessed with denouncing the Patriots is simply because they hate them so much. Maybe with a little (lot of?) jealousy tossed in for good measure? I've been to Jets and Dolphin boards and they talk a little bit here and there about conspiracies, Pats favoritism and cheating and what not but not anything like the stuff in here. Then again, those other divisional teams have actually beaten the Pats this decade so might not have as much detest for them as do Bills fans.
  14. From what I recall the tuck call (snowgame?) was reviewed in the booth and correctly reversed. I agree the rule sucks but it was called correct in that snowgame. I suppose if you are one of the conspiracy theorists and believe the refs up stairs were on the take then it was a bogus implementation of the rule. The rule that allows for penalizing a player for hitting a QB low has been in place for some time. It's just been re-enforced because of the injury to Brady. All QB's are being protected because of the re-enforcement of the rule. In fact the Pats got called for a 15 yarder themselves that game for a glancing blow to the head of Flacco. For some reason no one mentions this call. As for your other contentions that the Pats are given favorable marks and'or spots maybe it's because they are a good team and get the benefit of the doubt as a result? I mean thew same thing happened to Bradsahw's Steelers, and Montana's Niners, and Jimbo Bill's and Aikman's Cowboys and all of the dynasty teams.
  15. Last one I recall was Billick in '07 when he f bombed one of the officials and was caught on TV. From what I have read what constitutes a PF penalty it's if its a personal attack on a ref. Coaches yell and scream all the time on the sidelines contesting calls but taking it to a personal level is a no go and gets 15. Again I didn't hear what transpired but presumably the yelling got personal in this case and a flag was dropped.
  16. If you are speaking of me, I responded in post #50 of this thread and which I have quoted below.
  17. All you have given is your opinion. And not one based on much logic I might add.
  18. Maybe you don't know what conspiracy means? What you are suggesting with your "the Pats, as usual, get a pass!!!" claim is that multiple officiating crews have agreed to not only plot a plan that benefits the Patriots but they have done so secretly so that no one (but you apparently) has it figured out. If I am wrong then please tell me otherwise.
  19. I'm sure the reason no one does it is for fear they'd be committed to an asylum.
  20. OK, so let me get this straight. Since you say "the Pats, as usual, get a pass!!!" you are telling me that the different officiating crews that work the Pats games have knowingly conspired to provide the Patriots with beneficial calls that favor them over the competition! Wow! I really don't know what to say to you if you believe this to be so.
  21. I wasn't there to gauge the seriousness of what Harbaugh said to the ref but if you heard the exchange in question then I draw back my point. As for the PI call on Carr ..... I think it could have gone either way and been the correct call.
  22. Do have stats to substantiate this claim or are you just pulling it out of your backside?
  23. I believe we are saying the same thing but perhaps are referencing different defn of conspiracy. What I am saying is that I don't believe people get together and conspire to benefit (or cause hurt) to any NFL team. Pats included. From my TV vantage point I didn't see any blatantly wrong calls in the game beyond the norm. I wasn't clear on the fake FG ruling and would have appreciated a better explanation of the review I suppose at the time but have since learned that the call was made properly (pas was completed and that no irrefutable evidence was seen by the refs to overturn the forward progress on the play. Truthfully, I'm not a fan of the helmet and below the waist rules but understand why they have them in place. Likewise, if I'm a player, I also would expect to be penalized if I even come close to laying a hurt on a QB in today's NFL.
  24. I believe that it is unwise for any defender to hit any NFL QB below the waist (or on the helmet) in today's NFL else risk a 15 yard penalty.
  25. If you are suggesting that good teams maybe get the benefit of the doubt on some calls that bad teams don't get then yeah I agree. I mean if Manning to Wayne hook up and it's close the ref might inch them over the mark knowing that they are who they are. J Russell to whoever Raider WR happens to catch one his tosses might not get the same benefit. Ditto why the Colts and PAts OL don't seem to get called for holding as much as say the Bills OL But, to suggest that the league gives the Pats preferential treatment to all other 31 NFL teams is monumentally asinine.
