Kinda tough to blame EJ for he's nothing more than a 3rd string calibre QB.

Did Doug Waley support/want the Rex Ryan hire?
Pneumonic replied to Jobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rex is a con man and his personality and charisma has allowed him to fool a ton of people in his time spent in this game ..... including the Bills green owner. -
It's a year late for thoughts on tanking. This is a sink or swim roster at this stage of the game.

Rex was successful in building a bully
Pneumonic replied to Maddog69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rex is what he has proven himself to be all these years ... a fraud of a HC; a DC masquerading around as a HC; an actor who uses his charm and charisma to fool people. Look at the Bills and Jets situations this season. Rex's presence here has turned the Bills into the hot-headed, undisciplined Jets of last year and Rex's absence there has turned the Jets into a disciplined professional football team that is a strong playoff contender. -
From a R@R perspective, certainly so. But, form a gameplanning point of view, no. By the time the clock ends on Sunday, all teams have advanced scouted their next week's opponents and already know all they need to know. All that needs to happen is incorporation of scouting into a suitable gameplan. And, at this level of football, this is done in coaches sleep.

This is all you need to read. According to Rex ....... “I’m proud of the way this team played. Can we play a lot smarter? Absolutely. But I’ll take a team that’ll fight over a team that will sit back and take it every day of the week and bring on the next team. Give me a team that’s got some fight and will compete to the very end right, wrong or indifferent no matter how good the officiating is or whatever.”

Rex is a fabulous salesman whose infectious personality has allowed him to sell his crap to the media, to his players, to the fans of the team he coaches and to the owner who signs his paycheck. He's been the ultimate salesman for years and his charade continues here in Buffalo. Get used to it because "he is who he is"

Top 5 teams in the AFC right now
Pneumonic replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As I said, he was good enough to drive his team's to late leads which were eventually squandered. The point isn't that Manning is a failure. On the contrary, his stats will show him to be one of the best QB's ever ...until you delve closer into those stats and see that he was a horrid QB come the most important time of the football season. -
Will NE hit a wall this season?
Pneumonic replied to thronethinker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sometimes athletes (and coaches) do things at an extraordinary and dominating level. The reason why they are deemed extraordinary is because such greatness is a rare occurrence which might happen once or twice in a person's lifetime. We are witnessing such an event at this time with Brady and Belichick. -

Manning has gone 1 and done in the playoffs 9 times now. And, 6 of those 9 have been as the home team with 5 of these coming as the #1 or #2 seed which means he had 2 weeks to prepare. Manning has just 1 fourth quarter comeback drives …. in 24 playoff chances Brady, OTOH, has been to 9 AFCC games and he has played well enough to win 6 super bowls compared to Manning's one. In both of his two SB losses, Brady directed go ahead scores late into the 4th quarter only to see his defense relinquish the leads thanks to fluke plays. Manning, OTOH, got blown out in one super bowl loss and threw a game sealing pick 6 in the other. -

If anything, they are proven to improve as the playoffs approach. Given that they will soon have LaFell and Stork (2 of their better offensive players) returning from injury lists - combined with the maturation of their rookie OG's and the squirt RB ..... as good as that offense is right now, it may well be even better by seasons end. About the only potential "downfall" area I can see is CB play. Maybe Butler regresses? -

Seeing as how this "they are getting worse" prediction has been ongoing for the last decade now ... I am sure it'll still be a wish that sits atop the list of many for some time still. -

All of the Manning criticism deals with his crap play in the playoffs and not in the regular season. -

1. Pats. Clearly the best in the conference at this pt and they usually get much better as the season winds down. 2. Denver. Best defense in football but Manning is a choker so expect them to exit early come playoffs. 3. Cinci. Ton of talent but the HC is marginal and Dalton is a choker like Manning. 4. Pittsburgh. Presuming Ben comes back healthy, this is the only team in the AFC that has a shot of scoring enough pts to hang with the Pats. 5. Bills. The D is good enough to win come playoff time. How far they end up going depends on how Tyrod does as more film on him is digested by co-ordinators. -
Rex playing Mind Games with Belicheck?
Pneumonic replied to ko12010's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rex has just figured out how to double up on a checkers piece while Belichick has been castling in chess since he was 3. -
Mehta: Jets are biggest threat to Patriots in AFCE
Pneumonic replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's far too early to say at this time but, whichever of Bills, Jets and Dolphns gets the best QB play will end up being the 2nd best in the AFCE. -
This ^^^^ and when you have a QB that rarely gets fooled by a defense "Well, at this point in my career ... I would say, it's pretty rare," Brady said when asked if he's ever fooled by a defense. I've been around for a pretty long time. Not that they can't fool me. But I know where all my vulnerabilities are with my protections in the run game, I know who's unblocked. I don't really ever want to snap the ball into a bad play. I don't want to snap the ball if the coverage is really defensed well against the run that we have called. Maybe that happens 15 times in a game, where other teams may snap the ball into a bad defense. I don't ever have one of those plays." You get unprecedented QB success. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/patriots_nfl/the_blitz/2015/09/tom_brady_its_pretty_rare_when_i_get_fooled_by_a_defense

McCoy was the best player on the field for the Bills in the loss.

Rex is an excellent DC who is masquerading around as a HC. Once you accept this it gets easier to understand the ups and downs that follow the guy's HC career.

Bills pregame antics... Embarrassing if true
Pneumonic replied to TheFunPolice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, if your HC acts like a buffoon chances are some of the players under him will do the same. Rex's MO is well known by now. It's impact on his team, whether a good or a bad thing, comes with the territory. -
As much good as he does, Luck is a nightmare as a turnover machine. He's Jay Cutler on steroids.
