Well, now management has no choice but to go find a starting QB ..... from somewhere.

How about Marc Trestman as OC?
Pneumonic replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trestman and Sanchez? Desperation talk has already started and is in full swing I see. -
Spikes:playing for Bills made him love the game again
Pneumonic replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Spikes is just glad he's on the golf course earlier than usual. -
No Justin (22 sacks) Houston? He's been as much a force as Watt has been. Rodgers probably gets it.

Is Peyton Manning quietly playing his last season?
Pneumonic replied to TallskiWallski83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They already did the short base/high guaranteed route to get Talib, Ware, and Ward in under the cap last offseason. And they did it again with Harris just recently. There is no freebie in this; the cap hit eventually comes due. The sal cap maneuvering a team can do becomes limited and restricted. The Donks are now at that stage. -

D Thomas, J Thomas and T Knighton are 3 of the teams best players and will be 3 of the most prized FA's this offseason. And S Williams is no slouch either. All 4 will be testing the FA market for the first time and will be be looking to cash-in. B Marshall is a key LB for them. Especially with Trevathan and Irving made of glass and Miller one bad piss test from being gone for the year on suspension. I suppose Welker, Franklin, and Moore are replaceable types but, given their sal cap woes, they'll have a very tough time simply replacing them never mind improving upon them. -

The problem is 8 of their 22 starters are FA's who already need to be replaced. Cut a few more and you are now at 1/2 this years starters ..... with very limited sal cap situation. To free-up more $, you could re-do a few contracts of older players but that'll mean putting off into the future some dead years for Manning or Ware or Talib or Ward and that'll just bankrupt the team for when they need to rebuild .... after Manning goes. I doubt Bowlen will allow Elway to do this. The Broncos spent wildly the last 2 off-seasons banking on winning the SB in either season. it didn't work out and now they have to pay the Piper. -

Take a look at the starters who are free agents. They might be able to sign a couple .... that's it. Their OL is in shambles and they have no $ to fix it! They better hope for a once in a lifetime draft class with guys who start and produce immediately. -

Well, the Broncos did cheat the cap before so anything is possible I suppose. -

The Broncos went "all in" this offseason and blew their wad. There is nothing left to spend for free agents and they have plenty upcoming. -

They leveraged it this past season. The well is empty which means cuts and saying goodbye to both Thomas' and Welker. -

Manning's been floating ducks for some time now. But he's had an all star cast of weapons to bail him out. That's going to change this offseason when the sal cap finally catches up with the Broncos and they lose these weapons to free agency. If Manning's dying arm doesn't convince him to hang em up, seeing an exodus of his weapons leaving almost certainly will. -
Well, Manning said pre-game that he was treating this as a playoff game. I guess he wasn't lying. Stick a fork in him.
-
The OC is not going to matter if you saddle him with a QB (Orton) who can only consistently throw 1 type of pass.
-
The IT factor is QB and HC. All the rest of the pieces are pretty much inter-changeable amongst NFL teams.

Can't see BB resting any of his players the last week since doing so will mean his players being off 3 weeks between games.

Put Aaron Rodgers in the GOAT Conversation
Pneumonic replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rodgers is very likely the best QB at the moment and he's trending towards exclusive company should he be able to keep this pace up and win another cou0ple of SB's. As for Brady vs Manning ....... it's all about super bowl performance at this level of consideration. Brady has played well enough to win 5 super bowls compared to Manning's one. Brady has been defensive stop away from victory in his 2 super bowl losses. Manning, OTOH, got blown out in one super bowl loss and threw a game sealing pick 6 in the other. -
Orton is a chump so might as well put EJ in and let him get some experience.

Do we have good enough Dbs to stop Denver ?
Pneumonic replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Need a couple of ST's and/or defensive TD's to have a shot in this one. -
Ah, so now the commish can go about focusing on covering up the Jerry Jones fiasco. The commish has been a joke for a long time now. The league, a moral and ethical embarrassment. But it won't matter 1 iota; Us fans have a very short memory. So, people will still flock to watch overpriced games that makes available watered down and lousy beer. Fans will still pay crazy amounts of money to be able to watch their teams on TV. People will continue to buy over-priced jersey's of their fav players and they'll clamour together with fellow NFL fans at tailgating and in home parties using the products that put $ billions into the pockets f the league. In the end it really doesn't matter what the league does, or doesn't do, on such matters.

If he can curtail his boneheaded choice he can be an excellent QB; especially in Chip's offense. If not, he's probably not long in this league.

Sunday QB Duel: Brady vs. Rodgers

Should be an excellent battle. So many say SB preview ... but I predicted NE and Eagles from the start and still see it as so. -
Lions O lineman admits to diving at knee of Pats* player
Pneumonic replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With 4 mins left, up 18 and in the red zone, the Pats were trying to run out the game but the Lions, by calling two TO's and taking a personal foul penalty on a completed FG make, apparently wanted to keep playing. So, the Pats obliged and kept playing themselves. If the Lions players wanted the Pats to stop playing then they should have, you know, stopped themselves. -
Will Rex Ryan make it past Tuesday?
Pneumonic replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rex may be obsessed with beating BB but I wouldn't say he is kryptonite to them. Aside from the week 2 game this year that the Pats won but which saw the Pats score just 13 points (they weren't the same offense then as they are now) the last 5 games played between the Pats and Jets, the Pats have had their way with Rex's defenses ...... scoring 49, 29, 37, 30 and 45 points while posting wins in them all. -
Did Blount plan move to Pats?
Pneumonic replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Were it to happen, I think many in here wouldn't be shocked if the Pats somehow found a way to maximize the talent and skill of the player addition. The coronary possibilities would, no doubt be, those in here who seem to obsess over the Patriots success and rationalize things down to cheating, conspiracy theories and luck.
