  1. It's kind of funny. I expected the defense to be crazy aggressive and blitz happy. I expected lots of sacks and turnovers. But what we've seen is more of a "bend, don't break" defense. But I think the defense has been better overall than most people are giving them credit for. If they keep the penalties to a minimum and win the turnover battle, this should be a win for the Bills. The only way the Jets win this game is if the Bills hand it to them they way they did against the Jags.
  2. The Bills need to get a lead early and put the pressure on Fitz. Make them one dimensional in the second half and force Fitz into desperation passing mode. If the game stays close and Fitz stays comfortable, we probably are in trouble.
  3. I am not a Cowherd fan. His show is completely unlistenable. I'm curious how you can say whether the QB made the right or wrong decision without knowing the play call, play design and progression sequence. This analysis is interesting but quite subjective.
  4. I would love to see them sign Incognito to an extension. I would be very surprised if they are not able to keep him. Seems like he's happy to be here and thankful for the second chance. Unless his agent pushes him to Free agency, I think a reasonable 2-3 yr deal gets done.
  5. if we win the turn over battle and don't take stupid penalties, we have a chance. If we can get a lead and make Fitz have to pass the ball late in the game, the interceptions will come.
  6. I can understand wanting to draft a QB early in the draft since we are not sure what we have in TT and we haven't had a good QB in a long time. But the people who would suggest using multiple high picks on a QB are just wrong, in my opinion. It takes time to develop a QB, you don't have space on a roster for 2 developing QBs behind your starter. You don't have practice time and snaps to develop 2. You also would like to have a backup who can come in and play rather than 2 rookies. Not to mention leaving other needs unattended to because you spend a 1 and 2 on QBs. I just see this as a very bad idea. Identify the guy you like and go get him. If you are unsure between 2 of them, they probably both suck.
  7. I agree with Stevie that he needs to be smarter in this situation. But, I will say that I think this is a stupid rule, along with the celebration rule and the taunting rule. I say this because I believe it is difficult to take the emotion out of the game. A guy makes a play and has a genuine emotional reaction. That should not be penalized unless it is offensive or derogatory towards the opponent. His team should not be penalized because he made a big play and spiked a ball.
  8. I hate to suggest this, but is it possible that maybe, just maybe Spiller isn't as good as some TBDers think he is? His lack of production has always been excused away as the fault of the coaches not knowing how to use him. When he signed with New Orleans, we heard "Oh Man, Payton is an offensive genius, Spiller is going to be awesome this year because Payton will finally use him correctly". Well, that's not happening. So what's the excuse now? Spiller is, was and always will be a bust. #9 overall pick. Absolutely terrible pick by the Bills.
  9. Is anybody surprised by this? Seriously? I predicted this the second the Bills picked the kid up.
  10. I think we should trade up for another wide receiver
  11. The key to this week is to get a lead. If we get out to a lead and make the Jets one dimensional, that puts the game in Fitz's hands. As we witnessed numerous times, Fitz will panick and turn the ball over when the game is on the line and he's trying to force something. If we let them get out to a lead and stay comfortable, we will be in BIG trouble.
  12. Tyrod had a nice game. He was not asked to do too much. He only had 12 pass attempts. I don't think that will be the case most weeks. The BIlls O-line did a nice job opening up the run game despite the fact that Miami at 8-9 in the box all day. The success of the run game and Miami having a spy on Taylor opened up Watkins to single coverage more than usual. I love the game yesterday and am thrilled with the performance all the way around. But I don't expect those same results week to week. The last couple of games saw the QB throwing 40 attempts per game. That's a recipe for failure most of the time. I'm enjoying this week and looking forward to Thursday night. That will be a HUGE challenge for this team. Short week against a tough opponent, in the division, on the road, plus all the hype around Rex returning to face his former team. There are a lot of potential traps to fall into this week. Hope the BIlls can stay focused. It would be tremendous to get 2 division wins in a 5 day stretch.
  13. I don't get why people have to find 1 reason or another as the exclusive reason we have lost games. There have been numerous factors in each of our losses. Those include (but are not limited to) (and in no particular order) 1. The quality of opponent faced 2. injuries 3. penalties 4. errors in executing/understanding the game plans and new offensive and defensive schemes 5. EJ's turn overs. 6. McCoy's fumble on the 4yd line vs Jax 7. Defense allowing Jags to drive the length of the field after coming back from a catastrophic first half to have a late 4th qtr lead 8. stupid play calls and coaching decisions 9. officiating 10. bad luck (opponent has tipped ball go right to them for a pick, we have tipped ball go away from our defender). Luck plays a part. Usually evens out, though. 11. bad passes, dropped passes, missed block, missed holes, missed assignments, etc. These are the things that came to mind. I am sure there are others. My point is, people should look at the entire picture and not look to place blame on one specific person, play or action.
  14. Or the Bills with Tyrod Taylor. Rex said Taylor has been injured since camp but he wasn't on the injury reports for the first several games. Same Ol' Bills* ?
  15. Agreed. He looked great out there the first few weeks. Too bad he can't keep his body and mind in the game. If the owner has money and a willingness to spend it, the salary cap won't be a major issue.
  16. That's fine. But it is widely believed that Rex is a brilliant defensive coach and that the Bills have tremendous talent on defense. So, why can't Rex simplify the scheme to take advantage of our great players on a weekly basis and build upon that simplified scheme over time? Puking everything at the players and blaming them for not grasping the concepts seems ill advised and misguided.
  17. Not sure why everyone is getting their panties in a bunch over this. It is a marketing ploy. Trying to sell more jerseys. if you don't like it, don't buy one.
  18. and the defense getting scorched by Oakland didn't help our cause either.
  19. Besides the Pats* game, I think every game on the remaining schedule is VERY winnable. I don't see how this could be viewed as the 2nd toughest schedule.
  20. cut the ropes. Problem solved.
  21. Sometimes I feel like Thurman is just grasping for attention
  22. not even close Again He spotted them 14. Defense allowed the rest
  23. the difference between Brady and Manning (in my opinion) was that Manning depends more on the long ball and he has lost the ability to throw it effectively. Brady depends more on quick, short passes. I think Brady is less apt to suddenly "hit the wall". I suspect he will still be quite effective for a few more years until he suffers some injuries.
  24. Agreed. But it is easier said than done. Lets say Cleveland has the pick and Buffalo is 4-5 slots lower and wants to trade up. Probably ZERO chance Cleveland makes the trade. And even if the trade can be made, there's no guarantee that whomever they pick doesn't turn out to be the next Jamarcus Russel, David Carr, Ryan Leaf, Heath Shuler, Tim Couch, etc.
  25. They tried that. Jacksonville wouldn't make the trade so they missed on Rapistburger. Its not always that easy.
