  1. Clesrly Peters did not follow this logic. He sucked last year and still wanted more money.
  2. This is a silly argument. The Bills are a profitable franchise. They could afford to pay Peters. They decided he was not worth his asking price. According to the rumors yesterday, Buffalo offered somewhere between 8 and 9.5m per year and Peters told them not to call back unless they got to 11.5m per. According to Tim Graham, Peters just signed for $10 per. So Philly apparently also would not meet Peters 11.5m. I'll bet you that if Peters stings 2 good years together in Philly, he will be back crying poor in 2011. Buffalo made a football decision and a financial one. Move one. One player does not make a team.
  3. You can find hundreds of cases like this. Who cares. Life is not fair, get used to it. Fred will get his money when he is a UFA, assuming he keeps performing well. I just think too much is made of these contract issues. Fred will get signed, there is no other outcome that could happen unless he wants to quit playing. He was not fortunate enough to be a high draft choice or perform better sooner. Now he has gotten a chance and performed well. He will get paid. Everyone needs to just chill. After the signing of Rhodes today, Freddy is our 3rd string RB. His leverage is now less than it was yesterday when it was almost non-existent.
  4. I hate to rain on your parade, but assuming we could find a willing trade partner to give us a 2nd rounder to drop down a few spots, which is highly unlikely, Oher might not be available at 11 much less if we trade down. Ayers is also most likely not going to be available at 28. I would be very psyched to land these 4 players. I just don't think there is much chance of it happening.
  5. I think its funny that Peters was traded less than 24 hours after Brandon said he expected Peters to be a Bill and the media fell for his lie.
  6. Why? The have his rights. He has no choice but to play. He gets $460k, not to bad for being a second (now maybe 3rd) RB on the depth chart. Everyone needs to stp with the hysteria about Fred Jackson. He is nothing special. He's solid. I like that he is on the team, but for the love of God, he is not Walter Payton.
  7. EXACTLY RIGHT. Great Post.
  8. I don't think Jauron and Co. could line up 11 pro-bowlers and win many games.
  9. Pretty sure he wouldn't have any trouble getting up for the game
  10. Done with the Bills if they don't sign Fred Jackson? Seriously? Fred Jackson is going to make you give up on the Bills. Wow. I say Good Riddance to you.
  11. The Bills have all the leverage here. Fred is an Exclusive Rights FA. He is Bills property. He will play for what they give him or not at all. He just lost my respect by allowing his agent to come out with this crap. As another player pointed out, even if the Bills gave him what he wants now, whats to stop him from coming back and demanding more if he has a good year ? You know he won't offer to give some money back if he struggles. Its a Business and the negotiations are not simply based on Fred Jackson. Its the basis of the CBA and its about not setting a bad precedent. Buffalo has the hammer. Don't be shocked if Fred ends up being forced to play out the year at the Tender amount he received ($460k) or so. I also think he and his agent (and lots of fans on this board) are over estimating his value. He is a good complimentary back. He does not have the size or skill to be an every down back and will never be paid as such. I like Fred as a #2 back. A Kenny Davis type. He can do well in spot duty, but God help the Bills if he is the every down back for more than a few games. He needs to tell his agent to STFU. Ralph is the type to hold a grudge. Piss him off and you will play for the minimum or sit at home. Good luck making even $460k outside of football Freddy.
  12. and nothing of substance was reported. Of course Brandon "expects" Peters to be on the team, he is currently under contract Brnadon makes a few generic statement and everyone starts reading too much into them. McDaniel said he expected Cutler to be his startiing QB 2 days before he was traded.
  13. I'd be very surprised if the Bills took a QB in Rd1, not because I think Trent is any more than a backup. I just think the Front office will let the new HC pick his QB next year when we are picking in the top 5.
  14. Is it bad that we are counting to days till the opener when summer hasn't even started ?
  15. Sorry VOR. I completely missed the sarcasm.
  16. I agree. Has anyone seen any updates on his visit ?
  17. Oops. I meant Jason Taylor not Jason Peters. I think Taylor would be a great additional to our Defense
  18. You really live a sheltered life, don't you ?
  19. Have you spoken with him ? Do you have any details regarding his arrest or any info regarding his character other than knowing he was arrested once ? Or are you just talking out your backside ? I have no idea if he is a thug or not. I don't have access to anything other than rumors and I am not going to bad mouth the kid based on that.
  20. People forget that there are more ways to improve the team than just Round 1 of the draft. Plus, most rookies aren't usually difference makers. Our D line will be addressed in the draft. It will also help to hopefully have Schobel back. I would love the Bills to sign Jason Peters or Willie McGinest to help pressure the QB
  21. Not at all. But that's irrelevant. The Bills are the ones with all of the info. If they think he is going to be a great player and a solid citizen, that's really all that matters. People make mistakes, especially young people. If it was a one time thing, good enough. If they deem him to be of poor character, that fine too. There are plenty of good players available.
  22. Anybody "talking about him being available in the 2nd" is either drunk or stupid or both.
  23. Is this from your inside sources or just you stating the obvious?
