Let me know when Trent matches JP's mediocre stats from 2006. So far he has sucked bad enough not to even be better statistically than Losman (who set the bar pretty low himself). Maybe the WRs lack of stats are due to poor quarterbacking. Check Evans' stats from 2006. Looks like a good WR when his QB is not in constant checkdown mode.

These needs are accurate (except for starting Fitz - he sucks too) and my opinion is not based on this preseason, it is based on a lifetime of being a Bills fan.

That is why they play the games. If Trent plays well this season you try to sign him for $9-10m per. If you cannot sign him you Franchise him. If Trent sucks, you draft a guy in Rd1 and sign a vet.

I think part of the reason we struggled against the teams who run a base 3-4 defense is because those teams happened to be the toughest teams on our schedule.

Edwards is a complete idiot if he has truly watched game film and did not see open receivers downfield on plays he checked down. I have season tickets in the upper deck and I can tell you that I personally saw Lee Evans running downfield waving his arms on atleast 3-4 ocassions last year.

T.O.'s head is going to explode by week 4 if Trentative Checkwards refuses to open it up a little bit. This year is going to be fun one way or another. I am generally opposed to most of the discipline for celebrations. I think many of them are entertaining and make the game more fun to watch. But this one was just dumb. It just makes him look like a punk. I have no problem with this fine.

I am not a Gruden fan. I hate his stupid scowl. But didn't he also lead the lowly Raiders to the Superbowl before escaping to TB ? Gruden may be an obnoxious ass. But he's a good coach. If I were going to waste my time thinking about something that was never going to happen, I would definitely fantasize about hooking up with Jennifer Anniston before spending any time thinking about which big-name coach the Bills will never hire as long Ralphie is breathing.

I really don't understand why everyone keeps saying this. The concussion has nothing to do with Trent's poor late season performance. IIRC, his best statistical game of the season came after the injury. The biggest factors were: facing better competition; facing 3-4 defenses and weather factors with later season games. The concussion conspiracy is non-factor.

Actually, this is the exact opposite of what the coaching staff/front office has done over the last several years. They yanked JP in and out of the starting line-up for 3 years and completely ruined a once promising career. I have not been a big fan of Trent so far, but the absolute last thing I want to see is for him to be benched for anyone other than an already established pro-bowler. I really hope they give Trent this whole year to see what he has (unless he completely flops after 5-6 games, which I don't expect). NO THANK YOU TO STARTING FITZ. Trent is what he is, a solid starter. Very conservative game manager. It is not very exciting to watch, but can be very effective. Pennington has made a solid career out of this style of play. I pray that we stick with Trent for this year. If he succeeds and develops, we win. If not, we get a new HC and new starting QB to develop and its back to the drawing board again. But atleast we would not be sitting here arguing whether Trent ever got a real chance to prove himself. I am still hoping that some aggressiveness and downfield passing will develop in him once he get more experience and confidence.
