  1. Wrong. One thing never questioned about JP was how hard he worked at trying to be good. Too bad the results did not follow.
  2. This has been covered in numerous threads. Drew Willy was signed to their Practice squad. They did not replace Sorgi on the active roster with a QB (they added an OL instead). They are going with 2 QBs (Manning and Painter) on the active roster for now. I would bet that they will sign a QB to the active roster in the next week or so.
  3. Its the same thought process that people use when saying that our own current 1st rounder who hasn't shown anything yet is a bust. Some players step right in and perform at a high level, some take a few year, some never do. But you cannot label a guy a bust after 1 year. Maybin may turn out good or not. Same with Brohm. Nobody knows right now. But unless you know for sure that your QB of the future is on the roster, you have to go find one. If you have a shot at one in the draft, you have to take it.
  4. His playcalling would look much better if: 1.) Sanchez was not making rookie mistakes 2.) Leon Washingon did not get hurt 3.) Braylon Edwards could catch.
  5. This post describes the Bills and our QBs perfectly. This guy sounds like he'd fit in nicely.
  6. I think this is exactly what the BIlls do at QB. Draft one in Rd1 or 2 (Bradford, McCoy, Locker or Pike) and sign Vick. I don't think they bring TO back. 1.) he quits way too often when the ball is not coming to him. 2.) His behavior would be worse in year 2. 3.) Evans has been a good soldier this year and get quiet. I don't think he would stay silent next year. Build the offense around Vick and a strong running game. Re-sign Reed and sign a veteran receiver, they are always available.
  7. The only one of those 3 that I expect to still be employed by the Bills in 2 months is Brandon. Modrak and Guy have to walk the plank. The just cannot survive this season.
  8. Again, I know they probably cannot hire anyone now, but I am just surprised there haven't been more leaks about potential interest in this guy or that guy. I read that Seattle hired a search firm to help them find a new GM. Maybe we haven't done that because we don't officially have an open position. Who knows. Maybe there are discussion going on that are being kept quiet and maybe there aren't. Maybe I am just bored and don't want to wait. Oh well. Only 4 weeks to go and then the fun begins.
  9. I'd have no problem with Zimmer as long as we get a GM
  10. I am really surprised/disappointed that we have not heard any reports at all about the Bills considering potential front office candidates. We all heard about the big name coaching candidates and the national press's scoffing at the idea of any of them coming here. I wish the Bills would begin (if they haven't already been doing it behind the scenes) to start thinking about candidates to run the whole show. I know we will probably have to wait until the season is over for everything to settle out. I am just surprised that there haven't been any whispers at all.
  11. While I agree that a difference making DT is a need, I would not put it at the top of the list like you. We have A beast in Stroud and a competent player in Williams. We are terribly thin at LB. Poz is average at best. Mitchell, when healthy is also average to slightly above. Beyond that we have nobody. WE DESPERATELY NEED A STARTER OR 2 (MAYBE 3) AT LB. Besides a franchise QB, I would say at LB is our #1 priority for the draft. I think OT will be addressed in free agency.
  12. I think its tough to judge the line play overall with how many injuries they've had at OT. I think Hangartner is an upgrade over any Center we've had in a long time. He has looked bad since Wood went down, but that is to be expected. I think the interior of the line is set with Wood, Hangartner and Levitre (assuming Wood is healthy). I also think that Brad Butler add depth and competition to the interior O-line and miight give them the fleibility to try Levitre at OT permanently. They need to sign starting quality OT and one depth guy and draft a few add depth. I still think they could find a player out of either Meredith or Bell, so the line if not that far off from being decent if they can get healthy and stay together for a while. We've played 12 games and had 9 different starting combinations. ** I also think that a halfway decent QB would make this line look much better than they are.
  13. I like Garrett, Chudzinski and Grimm from that list.
  14. So you are 100% sure that if we take a QB with our #1 pick, our O Line will be a mess? What about all of our other picks and free agency? What about the development of the other linemen already on the roster? Are you saying that by selecting an O lineman in Rd1, all our line problems are solved? People need to remember that anybody drafted in the 2010 draft is very unlikely to offer much help in 2010 regardless of what position is drafted. Take the best available player at your given draft slot and address immediate needs via trades and Free agency. I wish everyone one this board would stop putting so much emphasis on the draft with the "We have to get this guy, he will immediate be a dominant force that make us a Superbowl winner for decades" or "If we take take guy (or position) we are doomed". The draft is a crapshoot at best With the current Bills Front office we may as well pick a person from this message board at random and let them make the picks, they would do just as well.
  15. He could wear a cup. Or atleast some tighty whiteys.
  16. JP was not great but he was still better than what we have had since. You can come back with your B.S. as soon as one of these QBs puts up the numbers JP did in 2006. I think it's great that he is getting a look by Indy because now all the A-holes who keep saying "JP must suck, he didn't even get a call from any other teams" can STFU. I would laugh my ass off to watch JP tear the Bills up on Jan 3 with Manning resting up for playoffs. It is exactly what this organization and the idiot fans deserve.
  17. so are our QBs. We need both.
  18. We will be drafting around 8-10. As much as I want the Bills to get their franchise QB in this draft, if 4 QBs go before we pick, some stud DE, OT or LB will drop in our laps. I think we win either way. (unless, of course, Modrak, Guy and Brandon are making the pick. In which case, we are DOOMED)
  19. I think there are a few things affecing Roscoe's play this year (besides him not being very smart) 1.) Loss of some good special teamers 2.) Rule changes regarding blocking and formations on ST 3.) Roscoe was too focussed this year on his disappointment for not being involved in the offense and I believe he lost focus on being a great returner 4.) Loss of confidence both in himself and from the coaches/teammates in him I think he is done here in Buffalo and should be traded or cut in the off season. A change of scenery will probably do him well and the humbling realization that noone else wants him as a full time receiver will hopefully re-focus him on being a dominant returner for a few more years until his tiny stature causes him to shatter into 50 million pieces.
  20. Actually, trying to become the Colts was a good plan except that we never found our own version or Manning, Freeney or any of their O-linemen. Otherwise, we are pretty close to the Colts. And before you start bashing me. We are close to the Colts in that we have an undersized defense which is not very good, but we lack a dominant pass rusher, QB and O-line.
  21. I wish they wore the throwbacks every week.
  22. In the limited amount of times I have seen him on the field, he has looked completely out of place in the NFL at this point. Let's hope he develops a complimentary move because his speed rush is not getting it done.
  23. I wonder of Peter forgot that Trent was benched in favor a an actual Quarterback a few weeks ago.
  24. I agree with this point completely. Without a competent GM, any HC we hire is doomed to failure.
