It was in one of the big Cowher threads on here last night. I don't think it was a very credible source. Someone on Twitter or something. But there seem to lots of little tidbits of info that add credibility and momentum to Cowher coming here.
-
I haven't heard anything about a Press conference today, but it would tie into the rumor that Cowher and Mrs Cowher are in Buffalo today that was reported earlier.
-
Its funny that some dude from East Aurora has more credibilty than any of these dopes. Maybe Wawrow can reach out to PETA to see that what insight they can provide.
-
Well, Lombardi only spoke with someone in the Bills organziation. Tim went straight to the guy from the bogus Pollard Alliance. I put more credibility in Tim's crackpot reporting. Bottom line is: neither of them have a clue but atleast Lombardi's info came from the team.

cancel a lot of season tickets

My guess is that his "source" is Thurman Thomas. In the article, he mentioned something about many of the bills and those connected to Bills living in East Aurora and Orchard Park. Thurman lives in OP and he is the only one around the Bills who seems to be talking. It's odd to me that his source would give him permission twice to post this stuff. Especially about the firings. Its either Thurman or someone in the offices at OBD who might have had knowledge of the firings beforehand due to HR related paperwork and such.

What about Schottenheimer?

I think they are doing everything they can to get Cowher. If that falls through. Nix will be on the phone with Marty and a deal will get done quickly. -
So If Cowher Is The Number One Choice

Is this a serious post or were you just saying a bunch of goofy crap just to get responses ? -
I'd take the winningest and most accurate QB in major college history. Colt McCoy. Or potentially trade up a few spots for Bradford. QB is the #1 most important position on an NFL Team

unsubstantiated rumors thread: COWER TO BUFFALO!!
Maddog69 replied to BillsBacker5545's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as I would love to see Cowher coaching the Bills, I don't want someone who is not thoroughly happy to be here. If he only want to coach in Carolina, but would settle for Buffalo, I say No thanks. Billick wasn't my first choice but I love the fact that he is openly campaigning for the job and wants to be here. -
unsubstantiated rumors thread: COWER TO BUFFALO!!

There are conflicting reports about Cowher. From Buffalo Rumblings Twitter acct: "Rumor has it BUF "spurned" Cowher on Monday. Rumor also has it he'll be in BUF Tuesday. Translation: no one knows what the hell's going on." We'll have to wait and see. I am still hopeful it will be Cowher. For all the talk about Billick, he has confirmed numerous times that he has not spoken to the Bills and Schottenheimer said he has not spoken to Buddy Nix other than to leave him a congratulatory voicemail. -
I would be perfectly happy with Billick. I really think it will be Cowher, Billick or Schottenheimer. I was conviced that Marty was not interested based on his repeatedly stating that he is comfortably retired and there was no chance he was coming back to coaching. But I just saw an article on WGRZ.com that had a comment from Marty that was significantly less definite regarding his future in coaching. He said something like "at this point, it is unlikely that will be coaching the Bills"

Thought I'd spin up a more up-to-date thread on this

I would like Russ Grimm to be given the keys to the car too. The keys to Ralph's Ford Taurus to pick Cowher up at the airport and bring him to OBD to become the next HC. -
In the interview he did on Channel 7, he was talking about playing catch-up to Russ and Ralph in the coaching seach and made a comment something like: "I hadn't even spoken to any of the candidated until Thursday night after the press conference". This was probably a slip. I would guess this conversation was the candidate that Russ and Ralph have decided to hire just to make sure they are all on the same page. I think they have their guy picked out. Now we have to wait to see if it is Cowher, Billick, Marty or someone else.

Glazer reporting entire staff dismissed
Maddog69 replied to ILoveBFLO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I cannot tell you how excited I am right now. This is the most excited I've been about the Bills future since the Superbowl years. I really think Dellepelle is right Cowher will be named HC tomorrow, right after the sham interview with Fewell to comply with the Rooney rule. -

Schottenheimer has said unequivocably that he is retired. Yet people keep bringing him up. He is retired. -

I think Cowher is coming tomorrow. Bills today announced that they fired the entire staff. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...coaching-staff/ If they were keeping Fewell, the staff would stay. If they did not know who they were hiring, they would usually keep the staff in Limbo to see if they can get the new guy to keep some of them. This is huge. I really think it means Coach Chin. -
I Listed 9 Players In Draft That Would Fit
Maddog69 replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mallett does not look ready for the NFL. He was very shaky in their bowl game. I think he will stay in school. The announcers mentioned that his parents want him to stay. If he comes out, he is a project and is not worthy of a top 10 pick IMO. I would be happy with any of the names on the Original list about. I would love to get Bradford, Okung or Suh but they will all be gone. -
This is not newsworthy. This is a moneygrab that was fully expected to happen at some point.

The system has worked for 50+ years. No need to screw it up to please the B word and whiners. The goal of every team should be to win the Superbowl. The teams that win enough games early in the season have earned the right to rest players. The Bills used to do it back when they were good and I have no problem with it. Whatever they need to do to give themselves the best chance at the Superbowl is what they should do. If Caldwell feels that resting Manning in week 16 and 17 is the best move, then he should be able to do it. We don't the NFL office trying to dictate playing time and such. If you cannot rest players late in the year, what about a guy who is nursing a minor injury and sits out a game early in the year? What about when you are wining by 40 pts in the 4th quarter and you pull the QB or kneel down, don't they owe it to the paying fans to play all starters all the time and go balls to the wall until the final whistle? Obviously not. This whole uproar is comical. Keep the league office out of it. They've already legislated any indviduality and fun out of the game.

Let me say first that I really want Bill Cowher to be the next Buffalo Bills HC. But, the way I see it, if he doesn't want to be here, I don't want him. If he chooses CBS over Buffalo that's fine. That's his choice. Jimmy Johnson has said that he will never leave his job on Fox to go back to coaching. Does that mean that all 32 cities in the NFL suck because He doesn't want to coach any of them?

Carucci: Bills / Cowher meeting was not substantive

If that were one of criteria for membership, nobody on this board would be allowed to post more than once a day. -

Houston winning today probably assured Kubiak will be back.
