  1. This tells me that panic is starting to set in for Chan. You cannot tell me that today was the first day that people were heckling Trent. He is terrible. He is difficult to watch because as soon as there is any pressure, he folds quicker than Drew Bledsoe. To me, it is pathetic that Chan lashed out at the fans in this manner. The fans have a right to criticize and heckle players who are not performing well. It does not mean the fans don't wish the player was performing better, it just means that they care about the team and accept crappy play. This really is concerning to me. Chan is clearly feeling the pressure now that it is getting closer to naming a starter. None of the QBs have stepped up and he is stuck with Trent. Now he is furiously defending his ugly girlfriend. SAD. Really SAD.
  2. Sounds like Madden is pretty realistic.
  3. This must be for recreational drug (pot, cocaine, etc) rather than PED's. When players get suspended for PED's the league statement says that it is for PED's, doesn't it ?
  4. he was saying that drafting for need would make the Bills end up with overpaid mediocre players and I was simply point out that drafting the best player avaialble (as they supposedly do) has gotten them overpaid mediocre players.
  5. Is that unlike what we have now ? e.g.: Whitner, Poz, Lynch, McKelvin, McCargo, Evans, etc. Actually, mediocre would be a step up from where were are now.
  6. Fitz is better than Trent. But a kick in the stomach is better than a kick in the balls. I still wouldn't choose either one.
  7. How can people say the Bills are better than last year? The only substantive change for the positive is Chan, and that is only because Jauron sucked and we hope Chan is better. That still remains to be seen. I am losing what little faith I had in him as the days go by. Other than that here's what I see" QB - Same sucky group led by Captain Checkdown (who even his teammates don't don't want on the field. Just ask Lee Evans, or TO/Josh Reed who got ran out of town. Which brings me to my next point.) WR - our #1 receiver and #3 receiver from last year are gone and nobody of substance was brought in to replace them TE - same group. Medicre at best OL - Same group. YUCK RB - Solid Group, plus Spiller. We should have a solid run game. Which will not help much when we are trailing by 3 scores and need to score points quickly. On Defense. Our best player retired. We brought in a few middle of the road FA's and drafted Troup. Defense was solid last year and was not the problem. What does Chan do? He blows it up and starts with a 3-4. The problem is that we have only 2 players in the front 7 who will be playing in a position they have played before in the NFL. Tell me how that is better than last year? The DBs and Safeties are solid, but again it is the exact same group of poeple as last year/ ST - We lose Bobby April and replace him with Dehaven. This should be a wash. The ST was solid last year and should be solid this year. This is not an improvement, A lot of people say we cannot be any worse than last year. I hate to break it to you, we can and we will be worse than last year. Even if you assume that the 3-4 defense will be better than the 4-3, its going to take time to get there. It probably will take another year or two of turning over the roster and getting guys in the right spots. In the meantime, its going to be ugly. I think we can expect alot more games like the Washington game. I see the Bills winning anywhere from 0-4 games. Anything more than that would be a huge surprise.
  8. Captain Checkdown is good for a FG on most drives. Good thing we did not need a TD. Trentative would have thrown a 2yd dumpoff on fourth and 7 to end the game.
  9. 7-9 in consecutive seasons earned DJ an extensions. Chan just has to be mediocre and he's safe.
  10. I think they just printed it wrong. That is their prediction for the final score: Buffalo 4 Indy 33
  11. and people say that Pro athletes are not good role models.
  12. LOL. I actually have a Bill Simpson autograph. He lived near me when I was a kid. I sent him a letter when I was 9 or 10 asking for his autograph and he sent it to me a few days later. He wasn't a great player and didn't play here very long. But he was my favorite Bill for many years.
  13. and not like Demetrius and Ko
  14. I was initially very annoyed by the comments from Gailey yesterday in response to the questions of Trent checking down all the time because I viewed them as Chan making excuses for Captain Checkdown. But after thinking about it, seems to be looking at it the right way. He said that he wants Trent to make the right reads every time. If Trent checks down because there are no open receiver downfield, it is the right call. If Trent checks down even with open receivers downfield, it is the wrong call. If I am taking Chan at his word, I am assuming that Trent is being chastised and corrected for making the wrong reads when he checks down at the wrong time. If he does not get better at making the right read, I am assuming he will lose the #1 job.
  15. I can only hope that this whole "pecking order" is a charade so that they can move Brohm into the starting job without handing it to him. It's Trent's job to lose and everyone know he will do everything he can to lose it. I am hopeful that this is what is going on. I just don't know how long Chan will carry on the charade. My hope if that Trent sucks Thursday and Brohm kicks ass and then Gailey give Brohm time with the starters in Game three before naming him the starter for game 4 and the season opener. I will probably be completely disappointed becuase this is not what is going on, but this is what I am holding out hope for.
  16. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/08/17/c...-passes-on-him/
  17. Gailey already made excuses for Captain Checkdown on BB.com. "I’d rather him make the right read. And I have to give him enough opportunities. If he checks it down, it’s not him, it’s me. If he throws it under four yards every time, we’re not doing the right things to get people open down the field,” said Gailey. ”So I want him to make the right reads and go to the right place. And if we’re not getting people open, then we either have to get different people or we have to create better schemes to get those guys open.” He completely misses the fact that Trent refuses to throw past 4 yards even if the players are open espically in the redzone.
  18. Steve Young (TB to SF) Rich Gannon sucked for years then had several solid season for Oakland
  19. Evans' best statistical season was in 2006 when JP was the starter all season.
  20. One way for a HC to lose his locker room is by not respecting his players (especially veterans) enough to listen to them. The players do not want Trent as their starter. Lee Evans has said it in the past when he pushed for JP instead of Trent. Josh Reed and T.O. pushed for Fitz last year. Jauron made the mistake of pushing Trent down the throats of his players and it ultimately cost him his job. Gailey is going down the same road right now with this "QB pecking order" charade.
  21. It's sort of like "innocent until proven guilty". QBs are good until proven crappy. Trent and Fitz have proven to us by their play on the field that they suck. Brohm has not had the opportunity to prove his suckiness yet, so we assume he is awesome.
  22. I'd be happy with both
  23. I see your point that our OL is not good and that only 2 of our "starters" played. But using your logic, name one of our QBs who would start for another team in the NFL. None. Our QB suck. The line is not good, but that is a moot point. Without a decent QB, the OL doesn't matter.
  24. Chad Simpson also had a 43yd run in garbage time.
  25. Those numbers are skewed by the one long TD carry by Bell and by the fact that Washington was up by 30 points and was more than happy to allow us to keep running the ball and burning time off the clock. Another example that maybe Ol' Chan isn't any better of a Coach than DJ. Other examples include: -Putting Trent at the top of the QB pecking order. Anybody who has watched him play knows that he sucks. If the other guys on the roster are not any better, Chan and Buddy should have gone out and brought in someone else. That completely undermines their credibility for me and removes or lessens any benefit of the doubt I was giving them. -Wasting a timeout to try to pull the Skins offsides. Pathetic -Taking the BIlls defense from last year which was pretty decent (and was definitely not the reason the team sucked) and completely overhauling it. As part of the overhaul, putting almost every player on the defense into new positions, most of which they have no experience at and no skills to do. I am tired of so many people on this board accepting this crap and making excuses. The Bills are terrible right now. No legitimate GM was brought in to fix it and no legitimate HC was willing to even consider coming here for more than a minute. Now we have a 70yr old NFL scout as GM and a scrap heap NFL/College HC. This team is a joke and so are many of the fans. P.S. - I thought the 2 new Strength and Conditioning coaches and the tough practices were supposed to eliminate all of the injuries. Maybe those weren't Jauron's fault after all. The grass is not always greener, Folks. Different is not necessarily better. Ralph simply took his rusty '91 Taurus and threw a new coat of paint on it and so many of you suckers fell for it. The Bills will not win more than 4 games this year. But that's great, right? Because we will be able to draft a "Franchise QB", who will take 2-3 years to learn the NFL before we will even know if he is any good or not.
