I just wanted to see how long it would take for a "you got to get a hold of your life" post from someone. Looks like about one minute! Not too shabby. -

All the way back down to 50 posts, although I don't really care how many posts I have-- I just don't like being back in the "practice squad" group...what an insult!! -
Careful!! A post like this could cause the site to crash again!!

I had low expectations for him when the Bills signed him last year, however I had no idea he could be such a special teams ace. As the "gunner" on punt coverage, he always seemed to be in the face of the punt returner immediately. I wouldn't blame him if he is looking for a more expanded offensive role somewhere else, though.

Who Will We Play on the Road AFTER they "Byed"?
Special K replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When the release of the schedule was delayed, I joked with my friends that the reason for the delay was because the league forgot to schedule the Bills road game against the Pats after the Pats bye week, since it seems to happen every year! -
Rumor: Looks like Washington is at it again, this time
Special K replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's right. Before the free agency period began, it was reported that Clements was Washington's #1 FA target. Obviously, they could not match SF's offer, however under the franchise tag scenario, Buffalo would have been able to limit NC's options to teams who could work out a trade with the Bills. Given the Redskins apparent interest in trading the #6 pick for other team's franchise players, why wouldn't they be interested in trading with Buffalo too. My main point was that the trade rumors involving Washington just makes it hurt worse that the Bills made a deal with Clements not to francise him this year. -

Read the first part of the line you quoted---I said if the Bills would have franchised Clements. Therefore, if Clements was franchised, he would not be able to sign with anyone for no compensation. Under this scenario, Washington may have pursued the same trade deal with Buffalo for Clements as they have for franchised players Briggs and Samuel. -

Rumor: Looks like Washington is at it again, this time

Remember.... Washington wanted to swap first rounders with Chicago for Briggs, a franchise player. Why do you think a swap of first rounders with NE for Samuel would be out of the question? My understanding was that the reason Chicago turned down the offer was because they didn't want to pay the contract a sixth pick in the draft would command. This wouln't be the case with NE, and they would still have their second first round pick to replace Samuel. Filling two secondary needs with the best safety in the draft and most likely the second or third best CB in the draft while moving a player who I believe has asked for a trade would be a great move for the hated Pats. Think about this---- If Buffalo would have been able to franchise Clements, Washington would have been knocking on Buffalo's door offering the sixth pick, and with your scenario, the sixth pick straight up, for Clements. -
A nice rebuttal to the fools at ESPN

Make that the achilles tendon.... This was the only thing of value from the segment, however, everyone knows the Bills need a MLB and a RB. I would be happy if those were the first two picks, though. -
The best option at this point is to keep all options open. It was definitely a good idea to get Turner in to OBD to get a feel for what kind of guy he is and to see what kind of contract his agent is looking for. Armed with that information, the Bills can weigh the value of a trade for Turner as opposed to the draft day options at RB.

LSI - 75 IQ points + 35 years = Joe Theisman!

It is a sad but true reality that any player, no matter how great they are, could have their career ended on any given play.

I understand it would be a swap of first rounders, but it is still not worth it---SD's first rounder may as well be a second rounder. The point I made earlier is that Wash is being second guessed for wanting to make a similar deal for Briggs, and I believe Briggs is a much more proven player than Turner. SD is just posturing---there is no way a team will have to trade that much value to get him when SD will get nothing for him if they don't move him by the end of this year.
-
He also usually would get into the game after LT had exhausted the other teams defense for three quarters. Turner is not that proven, and the Bills would have to extend his contract within the year or risk losing him as a free agent. My point wasn't that Turner is not a good option....just that it would not be wise to give up the number 12 pick for him. I'm sure as draft day approaches, the price SD is asking for Turner will drop to a more reasonable level.

FWIW: NFL wraps up their league meeting

I wonder if this includes spinning the ball on the ground or throwing it straight up in the air like some players like to do. (Steve Smith comes to mind) -

I believe Dockery has playoff experience with the Redskins, as well. I understand the concern, but I don't think it will be a big factor. Just getting to the playoffs in 2007 will be viewed as a success and would be a great experience for this young team as it continues to grow and develop together. (Exactly how much playoff experience did we lose with Spikes, McGahee, and Clements???) -
High Character= Guys who love to play the game of football and want to work to be the best football player they can be. They view the money and fame as extra added benefits of being football players. Low Character= Guys who are atheletically talented and choose to play football because they want the money and the fame. They are not interested in working to get better--they will just reley on their natural talent as far as it can take them.

Moulds home jersey. $70 Spikes away jersey. $70 Mcgahee throwback jersey. $70 $210 down the tubes! 1 jersey I can still wear----McGee away jersey.

Peterson, Lynch, Willis all are sitting there at 12...
Special K replied to jri111's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with taking one of the defensive prospects(Willis, Okoye) over Peterson---I hope Marv feels this way as well. However, I'd bet that if this draft plays out like that, the "takling heads" at ESPN would rip Marv a new one just like last year.
