It is a sad but true reality that any player, no matter how great they are, could have their career ended on any given play.

I understand it would be a swap of first rounders, but it is still not worth it---SD's first rounder may as well be a second rounder. The point I made earlier is that Wash is being second guessed for wanting to make a similar deal for Briggs, and I believe Briggs is a much more proven player than Turner. SD is just posturing---there is no way a team will have to trade that much value to get him when SD will get nothing for him if they don't move him by the end of this year.

He also usually would get into the game after LT had exhausted the other teams defense for three quarters. Turner is not that proven, and the Bills would have to extend his contract within the year or risk losing him as a free agent. My point wasn't that Turner is not a good option....just that it would not be wise to give up the number 12 pick for him. I'm sure as draft day approaches, the price SD is asking for Turner will drop to a more reasonable level.

this sounds very similar to the rumored Wash/Chi Lance Briggs trade. I would be hesitant to make this trade for a proven playmaker like Briggs....so I can't see giving up that much for the unproven Turner when we can just draft a back with the 2nd round pick.

I wonder if this includes spinning the ball on the ground or throwing it straight up in the air like some players like to do. (Steve Smith comes to mind)

I believe Dockery has playoff experience with the Redskins, as well. I understand the concern, but I don't think it will be a big factor. Just getting to the playoffs in 2007 will be viewed as a success and would be a great experience for this young team as it continues to grow and develop together. (Exactly how much playoff experience did we lose with Spikes, McGahee, and Clements???)

They are not interested in working to get better--they will just reley on their natural talent as far as it can take them.

I agree with taking one of the defensive prospects(Willis, Okoye) over Peterson---I hope Marv feels this way as well. However, I'd bet that if this draft plays out like that, the "takling heads" at ESPN would rip Marv a new one just like last year.

Wow!---Take Hargrove off it and over half of that list could be training camp cuts from this year. However, remember that a lot of next years cap room will be needed for extensions for Evans and Losman.

I'm a big fan of Blades and would be happy getting him with one of our 3rd round picks. He reminds me of Fletch and he has the "warrior mentality" that Fletch is known for. He's definitely the kind of guy Marv wants on this football team.

I was at that Tampa game baking in the sun myself----its hard to make a judgement of Cro's MLB play from that game. The temp was 94 degrees with heat index over 105(I'm a 20+ year Floridian and I was absolutely baking!). The defense was on the field way too much to have a chance to compete. I'm happy with Cro's play at WLB and hope he gets to stay at that position, but I feel good about his ability to play the middle if that is the direction the Bills want to go.

I don't think anyone will trade for Carr and pick up his large contract unless they really like him. He needs to go to a team with more pieces around him to be successful. One place that might work out well for him would be KC if the Chiefs are no longer interested in Trent Green

Can you actually name something smart the Texans have done?? Schaub may be a good QB, but it won't make Texan fans forget about Vince Young or Reggie Bush.

Could the Buffalo Bills be the Denver Broncos of CB's??? Unfortunately, almost all of those bills corners you mentioned were first round draft picks.....we'd have something here if all those cornerbacks were 6th round choices and undrafted free agents like the Bronco running backs!

In that scenario, he probably would become more of a reality for us....but I think would be an unfortunate reality. If both Okoye and Willis are gone by pick 12, and none of the other top talents slide down the board, I will be very disappointed.

You know the old saying.... "you can't teach speed!" Speed is definitely an important asset when running the cover 2 defense, however this is not the case when it comes to the CB position. I honestly hope that Hall isn't even on Buffalo's radar when their pick comes up.

I don't think he was a coordinator in Buffalo either. He was a defensive coach in Buffalo, however. I think I read somewhere that Levy wanted to hire DJ as defensive coordinator when he was head coach, but DJ took that position in Jacksonville instead.

Any thoughts on H.B. Blades? What round is he projected to be drafted in?

I believe when Spikes went down with the achilles, there was talk of how Crowell had to "transition" on the fly from middle to weakside linebacker. He definitely got better each week at weakside backer during that season. Why can't he transition back when he has an entire off season, training camp, and preseason to prepare? Of course this discussion could be a moot point if they draft Willis in RD 1.
