  1. He has had several on-track incidents this year, most notably blatantly wrecking Dale Jr. out of first place with two laps to go in a race. Not to mention the general running of the mouth and whining that occurs whenever a member of the media puts a mic in his general vicinity.
  2. Since you are not a NASCAR fan, I'll let it slide that you didn't know Kyle Busch is a gigantic d-bag not worthy of the respect you are giving him. He had trouble in the Nationwide race on Saturday and is currently in dead last in the Cup race due to an accident that was clearly his fault that he tried to blame on his spotter over the team radio communications. To me, it wasn't a smart descision for a guy leading in the points in the Cup series to try such a stunt. In the end, its going to end up costing him in the most important of the three series. He should have skipped the Saturday race, IMO, but I enjoyed watching him fail.
  3. If you were in that position, would you want them to try to squeeze your nards throught the chair after pouring cold water on them, or would you want them to cut the deck chair in half???
  4. Actually, it would be half of that, because those payouts reflect $2 bets not $1 bets. Still, $39,500 still deserves a
  5. I guess Big Brown needed his steroid injection after all, Mr Dutrow.
  6. http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=420003 Allen Wilson talks up the Bills in the article as to how this is the most talented team Jauron has put on the field, but when you get down to the season prediction, it says the Bills will go 5-11 and finish third in the AFC East. I really don't care about people's predictions, but it was surprising to me because the tone of the article would lead you to believe he would have more optimism for the coming season, then he drops that bomb at the end of the article. Although, thinking about it now, it does say Sporting News prediction--maybe its not his personal prediction?
  7. Wow! I was somewhat shocked to hear that Flip Saunders was fired as Pistons head coach today. Does this come as a surprise to any of you Pistons fans out there?
  8. Two points on the move of the Sonics: 1. How could the prior owner of the Sonics(I believe the founder of Starbucks?), a Seattle man, sell the team to someone from Ok. City...a town pushing to land an NBA franchise of its own? What did he think the guy was going to do? He should have never sold the team to this guy if he cared at all about the city that helped make him rich. 2. Why would Stern approve the sale of the team--because he was upset with the city of Seattle because they wouldn't pony up the money to build a new arena. The city had already publicly funded a new football and baseball stadium, so Stern felt his league deserved a piece of this action as well. When he didn't get his way, he couldn't have been happier to approve the sale of the Sonics to someone who wouldn't keep the francise in Seattle. A pretty childish and selfish move, to say the least.
  9. That was awful, but IMO, it would have been a foul before the act of shooting, giving only two free throws to tie the game instead of three to win it. BTW, Doug Collins totally botched his analysis at the end of the game, forgetting that the shot clock did not reset because the shot did not hit the rim. The worst part of it is that I believed him and shat a brick when I saw Kobe taking the shot. Shame on me for not catching his mistake. Was anyone else fooled? Does anyone want to make a prediction for tonights game? I'm gonna go out on a limb and pick the hated(by me) Pistons to win tonight and win the series in game 6.
  10. Give me, or any NFL caliber player the choice, and they would just want to play. Also, look at it this way: when your contract is up, which of these scenarios would be more likely to garner you a big payday?
  11. Great article. I'm really impressed with Whitner's leadership in this situation. As the article referenced, its a little easier for him to do this because they don't play the same position, but this looks like a prime example of what Marv Levy saw in Whitner that many of the "talking heads" didn't take into account when he was drafted.
  12. I thought you were gonna say: As for the game, its a good thing the Celts had such a large lead, because it looked like they had no answer for the 1-2-2 zone Detriot was using. BTW, I finally realize that I like something about the Pistons: their public address announcer, Mason. Hands down, the best in the business.
  13. Hey......he already beat me to it. Are you happy now??
  14. Hey....I already beat you to it. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=66578
  15. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-t...p&type=lgns A pretty funny story. How embarassing must that be? I like how he tries to say he was supposed to be traded for the team's "best hitter", but he didn't want to be traded. Whatever you say, man...if it makes you feel better about being traded for $700 worth of wood.
  16. Well put. The Pistons get all the calls, wether at home or on the road. It seems as though they have earned the respect of the officials because of their hard-nosed throwback style of play. I mean, if they are going to let you get away with it, why not do it. However, when the opponent(the Magic, Celtics, etc.) adapt a "if you can't beat 'em join 'em" philosophy, and try to match the physicality of the Pistons, they are immediately called for fouls for the same "tough play" the Pistons are constantly getting away with. That said, the only player on the Pistons I consider a dirty player is Rip. The other players just push the envelope up to a point where the refs just let it go.
  17. Rip Hamilton delivered the punk move of the night with that attempted elbow to KG's head. I wasn't surprised to see him do something like that. I'm just glad the ref's actually called the foul. Hamilton got away with a couple of those elbows in the series against the Magic.
  18. Is anyone else getting a little worried that there is going to be another Spurs/Pistons Finals in our future? For me, (and numerous others), that would be a completely unwatchable seires.
  19. Not that this is of great importance, but I noticed the other day that full-screen mode stopped working for Youtube on my computer. I tried it on another computer in the house and it didn't work on it either. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Or could this be a Youtube problem? Just curious.
  20. Yikes!!! Thanks for the warning.
  21. Sorry, never venture into "politics, polls and pundits". In fact, until a minute ago, I didn't know there was such a thing.
  22. Remember a few months ago when a tape was released of Chris Berman fliping out at the crew? Well now its O'Rielly's turn: http://youtube.com/watch?v=2tJjNVVwRCY&feature=bz302 My favorite part is the last three seconds
  23. You forgot about Jay Riemersma, he was good for a couple of years. Since then, the Bills have fielded a bunch of also-rans at the position.
  24. BTW, this is the worst part of the year for me in terms of sports.......the time from the end of the Magic season until the Bills start training camp.
