Will gambling ruin the NFL and sports in general?
Special K replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
The sports leagues are in partnership with these gambling sites.....they are making money just like the gambling companies....... the 9 year old kid whose father blows the rent money betting the under on Chiefs/Texans is the one who will be ruined. Openly encouraging gambling is akin to having commercials on TV promoting Heroin......they make all the money, not for one second thinking about the victims that are left in their wake. Sure there are people who can handle a little harmless fun betting on sports, but spare a thought for the people who have an addiction to gambling and especially their family members who suffer the consequences of those people's actions. -
This made me think of this joke from Seinfeld:

It's pretty nice when your team is so stacked, they can use draft picks on highly specific needs........like in this case, 3rd TE in Goal Line situations. Maybe they also hope he can develop enough to take the TE2 position when Knox's contract runs out, or becomes too much for the strained salary cap to handle.

Wasn't there someone named "I eat crayonz" that used to rile people up back in the day??

These might be a little bit obscure. The first one reads as a bad breakup song, but I think it can also apply to the passing of an important person in your life: The second one reads more as a "my life sucks because of you" song:

Who is the worst franchise QB in the NFL?
Special K replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tua Turntheballova for sure. Weak arm......made of glass.....too small.....one head shot away from his brain being swiss cheese. Dak is overrated because he is on the Cowboys......if he was on any other team, he would hardly be mentioned, IMO. -

Let's get a little melancholy, people. What's your favorite sad song?? It doesn't have to be a typical sad song, but if it's not, you have to give us a little bit of the reason why it is a sad song to you. I'll get it started with an easy one:

Bills TE's are no-shows at TE University.......
Special K replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was waiting for the "Kincaid is too skinny to attend TE University" comment/joke. -
The article also said Josh Allen might show up to throw, but states Knox and Kincaid are likely to not be there. Obviously, this isn't earth shattering or important, just a surprise that they are not attending: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/article/bills-players-tight-end-university-114532303.html

Man, you really could see it.......snapped like a rubber band😧 Kevin Durant had the same thing happen when he was on the Warriors. The guy is trying to win a championship......gotta give him props for trying even though it probably will also cost him most if not all of next season Loved how Halliburton was standing on crutches waiting for his teammates to come back to the locker room after the game......hugged each and every one of them.......that's some leadership and character right there.
-
Thankfully for the Bills, he dropped to the 2nd round because he "was just a guard" and didn't have position flexibility...... the guy is on a path to be an All Pro Guard....the rest of the league's loss is the Bills gain on that one! Love the O-line as a whole....best unit on the team after QB. As for the Defense, a pre-injury Matt Milano was the Josh Allen of the D......really hope he can stay healthy this year.

Tyreek Hill chirping about the Bills again
Special K replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lets hope Maxwell Hairston and his 4.28 speed will allow the Bills to be more aggressive. -
After he got hurt and did not play in the second half......it was like night and day once he was out of the game.

Not a Country Music fan, but I heard this one on the store radio the other day....I had forgotten about this one:

I have to admit that I didn't expect Indiana to win tonight, but they continue to impress.......it is a tall order to win a Game 7 on the road, but anything seems to be possible with this team. If they hadn't blown Game 4, this could've been a closeout game...... Looking forward to Sunday night!!
-
Again......I didn't assume anything....I said "I'm not sure if"......do you know the meaning of the word assume?? It seems like you are just looking to argue for the sake of arguing.... if you don't agree with me, you are entitled to your own opinion. If you want to think a guy who scored a 13 out of 50 on his Wonderlic test score (Josh Allen scored a 37 out of 50) is a smart guy...than that's your right.....my end of this argument has come to a conclusion. Have a wonderful aftetnoon!!
-
Again.....didn't say he wasn't good.....said he isn't very smart. As to your comment about the Media not helping him......who do you think votes for the MVP???? As to Henry......before the Ravens got Henry, the excuse from the Media was "there isn't enough help around him"...... now that they have Henry, the Media still blames everyone else but Jackson when they lose. It has been reported that Jackson travels to New York to party on the weekdays in between games, and does not watch a lot of film to try to make himself a more well-rounded QB.....these are signs of a player who isn't too smart, IMO. Also, I am not sure if the last line of your post insinuated A racial component to my arguement, but there are plenty of smart Black QB's in the league......there are also plenty of dumb White QB's in the league....race is not a factor here.
-
Where did I say its a bad thing to design an offense to take advantage of a players strengths?? The question was can a player who isn't very smart win an MVP, and my answer was yes if he is put in the perfect offense for him and gets massive help from the media. That gimmicky read option Offense with a future first ballot Hall of Fame RB standing right next to him is the only Offense he would be successful running.
-
Not when you have an Offense that is tailor made for him, that also protects him from his limitations in that area, and a Media Machine that is designed to prop him up when he succeeds, and deflects blame from him when he fails. Josh Allen should have won MVP two years ago as well......maybe if the Media treated him the way it treats Jackson he would have won it.

Special K replied to Heitz's topic in Off the Wall
The guy almost "Robert Durst's" himself at the end of the final episode, but for whatever reason, the filmmaker stopped him from doing it. He spent 10 years in prison for doing unspeakable things, and truly should have done a lot more time than that for what he did. Then it appears he got away with at least 2 and maybe 3 or more murders as well......a wild story. -
No games today, but Desmond Bane being traded to my Orlando Magic made me a happy guy today!! The price seems a little steep with the 4 first round draft picks, but if the team is as good as I believe it will now be, those picks will be in the 20's, not lottery picks. They already have their two Superstar players in Banchero and Franz Wagner, but the weakest position on the Magic was the Shooting Guard position, and the weakest aspect of the team was 3 point shooting......Bane is a sharp-shooting 2 guard that solves both of those problems. Maybe this time next year we will be talking Orlando Magic Basketball in the NBA Finals portion of this thread!! Go Magic!!

Seems like Edmonton never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity. They really had a chance to take control of this series at home, and they laid an egg!! Indiana blowing Game 4 in the NBA finals, and Edmonton losing Game 5 in the Stanley Cup finals could prove costly for both teams, IMO.
