  1. Well...I think you're wrong...I think if Fitz was all that Teams would have lined up to grab him as a Back-Up when they could have had him...But they did not...I think Brunell and Jackson are definitely better and anyone on that list is capable of posting a 67 QB rating regardless of their experience...Jackson's career QB rating is 10 points higher than Fitz and he's thrown more TD's than INT's...How does that blow? Especially in comparison with Fitz... I understand what you're saying about Fitz being decent if all you expect is a Back-Up QB...But I think a Back-Up is one hit away, especially in Buffalo...And I want My Back-Up to be able to do better than Fitz has with Buffalo and Cincy...He's just not that good...He's a bit less than ordinary...
  2. Exactly... One of the most overlooked stupid moves...Did not need to happen at all...He may not be the Best HC out there but he was more than fine for Buffalo...Give him the horses and he's going to win more then he loses...In 8 Years as a HC he's finished 9-7 or better 6 times...Plus The Bills Defenses under Wade were always formidable, especially at Home... Shoulda kept Ol' Wade...
  3. I've been watching long enough (almost 40 years)...And maybe I'm being a bit hard on Fitz...Though I doubt it...He may be a decent #2 for The Bills or Cincy when they sucked...But on the better NFL Teams I think he's a 3rd String QB and no better, and it's not preposterous whatsoever...The guys got a CAREER 67.7 QB Rating...21 TD's to 27 INT's...How is that "Classic Back-Up" or "pretty decent?" Good God the bar has fallen awfully low around here...
  4. Me too...He's just so ordinary...Even as a Back-Up I don't like Fitz much... I think Edwards, for all his faults (and they are a few for sure), has a million times the upside of Fitz...Fitz is a 3rd string QB on almost any NFL Roster. He was another in a long like of horrible UFA Signings by Jauron/Guy and that bunch...I think based on the ridiculously bad record of UFA Signings prior to Nix taking charge, Fitz may very well be the logical odd man out in this QB equation...Edwards has shown at times he can play at a higher level in this league...Brohm has the whole 2nd Rd Pick, upside thing still going for him...If Brown shows anything I think Fitz is a goner...And I would not mind that a bit...
  5. I did not know Buffalo was even interested? Who the heck was screaming for Charlie Whitehurst? I don't remember much rumbling about Whitehurst outside of the NFL Network when the deal went down. I could be wrong, and maybe he'll turn out to be real good...But getting excited about Charlie Whitehurst? Really?
  6. It's a good point. I think letting him rot on the end of the bench is really what he deserves. The Bills are not going to get anything for him at this point anyway. And despite what the Lynch backers tell themselves Fred Jackson is the better Football Player. Spiller is going to get his share, and that leaves next to nothing for Lynch. Which is exactly what he deserves.
  7. Could that have anything to do with Marshawn's running people over and leaving the scene problem? I'm no big fan of law enforcement either...But if there is anyone I would appreciate the Cops paying close attention to it's Lynch...He's an idiot...
  8. I get it... But we could do, and have done, a hell of a lot worse...
  9. Some funny stuff in this thread... Seriously though...Can we all just agree Lynch wants no part of this Team any longer...Yes he may be here in 2010...And yes The Bills may have no intention of Trading him...But not showing up for OTA's with The Bills bringing in a brand New Offense AND a 1st Round Running Back I mean...I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure this one out... I wish they would just deal him and be done with it already...I think Marshawn's feelings are hurt...
  10. True... I think the Folks who want to dump on Maybin should at least wait until he's played a few Games in the new Defense...I mean...Talk about an early evaluation... As for the OP and Batten, I think it's another example of why this D will be improved and should have a heck of a good foundation for the future...The Bills have some REAL nice talent and decent depth now on D...If it all comes together they are going to be REAL tough at Home...And that's a start...Batten should also add to the Special Teams...Hard not to like the Kid is it not?
  11. How's that possible? The general consensus among NFL "experts" is that this is a bottom 5 Team...How does it get worse than that?
  12. Reed is coming back and the Ravens REAL need is at CB...While I'd like to see Lil' Donte in this package as much as the next guy I think Youboty or even McGee makes a lot more sense...In fact I would not be surprised at all to see it end up being McGee for Gathier straight up...The Ravens REALLY need Vet help at CB...I've yet to hear McGee's name come up at all...But to me that's what makes the most sense for the Ravens at this point...They're trying to win a Super Bowl...They need a Vet CB in a HUGE way...
  13. Now I know it's not going to happen... Too good to be true...
  14. Wow...I missed it...No direction huh? We'll see... Honestly, I feel this is the first time we've actually had direction in a decade...It's funny...What do these idiots think? Do they think everything can be fixed in one off season? I don't mind Lombardi, but he knows damn well Nix is a good Scout and Football guy through and through...He knows it...To say The Bills have no direction is basically calling Nix an idiot...I'm not 100% certain Nix is making all the right moves either...But Buddy Nix resume speaks for itself...He's had some serious success...I don't see any Teams chasing Lombardi down after his last great stint in Oakland...I'd say the only thing with no direction is Lombardi's Scouting career right about now...
  15. You may be right Labatt...But they also had 2 DE's, a 1st and a 3rd Round Pick, that were more suited to OLB in a 3-4...So we'll see how it all turns out...
  16. So in this case you think the majority of Bills Fans were wrong in wanting Jauron/Fewell gone? Just saying... I was trying to make the point that it would not be hard for La Canfora to find plenty of evidence that Jauron and Fewell sucked for a while...Because they did in fact suck... We'll see how much higher the Raiders and Redskins are at this time next year...Time will tell...I know what happened in the past...The Bills Coaching sucked...No one, especially that pudgy smug little punk Jason La Canfora, knows what is going to happen in the future...
  17. Not when it counted...That's for certain... But knowing those type of facts would take a little bit of research and common sense...2 things La Canfora want's nothing of...Understanding why the majority of Bills Fans wanted a House Clearing after the 08 Season, a year before it happened, takes a bit of knowledge on exactly why the Coaching failed here under Jauron/Fewell so often...It would take a little homework...La Canfora looks like the type who would pay someone else to do his homework...He wouldn't know Buddy Nix from Stevie Nicks...Calling him a douche is an insult to all hard working douche's out there...Douche's have a purpose...La Canfora's only purpose is running up text bills...Unless looking like a dork on TV is a purpose...If so he's got that going for him...
  18. Seriously? Why any Bills Fan would buy that complete garbage is beyond me? Did you watch The Bills these past few Years under Jauron/Fewell? We lost a bunch of good Coaches?... I saw that crap spewed from La Canfora on NFL Network...Let Me tell you something about Jason La Canfora...He knows just a little more about NFL Football, and how to build a winning Team, than My Girlfriend who knows absolutely nothing about NFL Football...He's a pudgy Moron with unlimited text...That's all there is to it...Any idiot that I hear talk about the Bills Coaching losses being a negative immediately gets zero, and I mean NO credibility whatsoever...Jason La Canfora does not know enough about Football to understand what The Bills are doing and why they are doing it...He's not an expert on anything...He's a double-douchebag...
  19. The Bills are in a tough Division...It would take some tremendous breaks for them to get to 10 Wins...But it's not impossible...Just a bit improbable... In a way I'm drinking the Kool-Aid a bit...I'm impressed with Nix/Gailey so far because I believe they want to Run the Ball and stop the Run in 2010...In 2011 I think they'll go and get the QB and LT if necessary...I like the plan so far...I think The Bills will give many Teams fits this Season...I think they'll be a LOT better than most "experts" think they'll be...But in the end I see them winning between 6-9 Games depending on the QB's...And I don't think that's bad at all...
  20. Congrats Lori... That's pretty cool...
  21. I have no problems with Mel or what He does...I actually like him a lot...But in this case he's doing exactly what most Folks are doing concerning The Bills...He's looking at The Bills Needs and HIS Board...He's probably coming to the conclusion that because The Bills so greatly need help at LT and QB they pretty much blew it at # 9 by not taking Clausen...then they REALLY blew it by not taking him at #41...Had The Bills gone Spiller, Clausen Kiper would have given them an A+ I bet...Then finally he's downgrading them for not coming out with a decent LT prospect at all...OK, fair enough... But what most "experts" (and non-experts) including Mel are missing is, first and foremost, this is year #1 of a total re-build in Buffalo...The Bills want to be good as fast as they can, but filling Needs only with disregard to THEIR Board, could be disastrous...It could lead to another 5 Years of losing...So The Bills top Scouts (and Gailey) looked at this Draft and saw it's strength was on the Defensive side, especially at D-Line (Mike Mayock said this was the deepest Draft he's ever Graded as far as Defense and D-Linemen were concerned)...They looked at the QB's and LT's they could get at #9 and #41 and they were not excited at all...They looked at CJ Spiller (a Player Gailey Coached against at GT) and saw a Home Run threat, Top 5 talent that could be had at #9 Overall...They fell in love with Spiller at #9...We'll see how that works out...I'm still not crazy about the Pick...But it's hard to argue with their logic on why Spiller was taken...The Bills did not have anything remotely like CJ Spiller...Now they do... At #41 and #72 The Bills turned their attention to the #30 Ranked Run Defense in the NFL...Here's where I really don't get some of the poor Grades The Bills have received...They play in a Division with the #1 Rushing Team in The NFL AND the Miami Dolphins who will Wildcat you to death if you let em.' How is it a bad thing that The Bills addressed this by Drafting 2 Players who can fill holes immediately in a D-Line Rotation? They got 2 guys that fit great into a 3-4 D-line and they're both unselfish hard workers...I just don't see how that's a bad thing UNLESS Clausen turns out to be a Franchise QB...But lets face it...It does not matter what Mel or anybody else says, the chances of Clausen being a Franchise QB are slim at best...He did not last until #48 because the consensus is he'll be the next Montana after all...He lasted that long because most Teams have questions about his abilities...Quite a few Folks thought Brady Quinn was the next great thing too...How's that working out so far? So anyway...The Bills went in a direction they felt was necessary due to their Board, their lack of love for Clausen (at least their lack of belief he'll be any better than Edwards or Brohm), the insistance on fixing the Run Defense, and their feeling they were getting excellent value with the 2 D-Linemen...If Clausen turns out to be all that no question the Bills blew it...Same with McCoy...But if not, in the end, this could turn out to be the building blocks of a heck of a nice NFL Team in a few Years...I think this Draft was a solid B for The Bills... We'll see I guess...
  22. Thing is Buddy already stated pretty clearly they viewed Levitre as an OG and did not want to move him outside...He was pretty clear about it, and even went on to say The Bills would possibly weaken 2 Positions by moving AL to OT... So...It's a longshot at best right now...
  23. I don't know... I think Nix and Gailey have both been pretty clear that what happened, especially what happened last year, is the not going to count against ANY of these QB's...I know you hate Edwards and Fitz, I'm not crazy about them either, but My gut is telling me Nix and Gailey are hoping Trent is the QB that steps up because he's shown the most upside of the three to this point...Brohm is a wildcard right now...They really can't have much of an idea because he's barely played at the NFL level...Yes he was the best College QB of the three, but Gailey's quote about these three in comparison to the Top QB's of the 2010 Draft is a clear indication of how impressed they are with College performance...I don't think it matters to them all that much right now... So anyway...I don't think it's anyone's Job to win or lose...I think they are hoping for one of them to grab the new Offense and step up...That's all...
