I think Collins will be viewed as a 2-down run stuffer, but a really good one. So that mid 2nd area seems about right. I do think Ty Williams goes before him because teams are going to see a little more pass rush upside with Williams... And Williams is just so very good vs the run... Some folks are higher on Collins than I am. I see him as more of a late 2nd type... But if Williams is gone and you need a plugger, he's probably next in line...

Gonzo Mock Draft Version 2.0 After Combine( Starts on Page 5)
KOKBILLS replied to gonzo1105's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is JMO... No offense of course... I love reading different opinions and ways to look at the Draft. The positions are fine but the names are not my favorite for the Bills... At least right now... I'll reserve a little till after the Combine... I'm not sure Ezeiruaku is worthy of #30... He's a good player... But he's undersized and #44 on the consensus Big Board right now. I would take Derrick Harmon over him at #30 if we stayed there based on what you had left over in this Mock. The more interesting thing would be if Nolan fell that far and all we had to do was get up to #27... That would be nice! Harris to me is a bit of an unknown, and I don't think he solves much of what we need. I think he's too much of a Keon Coleman-like skill set and he's going to have a steep learning curve coming out of that Ol Miss Offense... If I'm going WR there I'd take the swing on Isaiah Bond or even Royals who bring more of the skill set we desperately need. Then at 62 if I got Harmon and Bond I would take Josaiah Stewart as a designated Pass Rusher. I'm more comfortable with the under sided DE late in the 2nd, and Stewart is electric... Also I don't see Ohio State DT Tyleik Williams on your mock. I think he's a legit option for the Bills, especially if he makes it to mid Day 2... -
I'd gladly pass for Myles Garrett... I want Kenneth Grant more than any player probably... plus I'm a Michigan fan... but it will take a trade up, and maybe a hefty one. I'd love Walter Nolan but he probably goes higher than Grant. Other than that I'm 100% for trading down and getting that 3rd back... I like Derrick Harmon a little over Tyleik Williams. I can see the Bills loving Jahdae Barron...And I think if he's going to be healthy Shavon Revel will be a definite possibility... And yes I think the Bills will like Sawyer... They just will... I hope it will at least be in the late 2nd... If I had to guess right now I would say Harmon, Williams or Revel...

Free Agents we like for the 2025 Bills?

I live in my TBH history some days and ponder what could have been had Beane not had me arrested that night I camped out on his lawn... -

I don't know? That we're trying to win a SB? Look...No one has been more critical of this Defense than I have. I totally agree it has to be re-built. But if the opportunity to add a player like Metcalf comes along, and all it's going to cost you is a 2nd and a 4th and a restructure that will keep him cap friendly for at least the next two years. That's a win/win. You can still do plenty on Defense. Playing it safe has got the Bills this far... They used a late 3rd on a DT last year and no one even mentions his name. The Bills need difference makers. DK Metcalf is a difference maker. -
Free Agents we like for the 2025 Bills?
KOKBILLS replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe the 2nd most... And FYI... He's VERY tradable for the Hawks this year (21M in dead cap with a 10M in cap savings), and because both he and the Bills would want to work an extension (he has an 18M base salary in 2025) it could be very cap friendly in 2025 and probably 2026... -

DK Metcalf is an absolute stud. He's 27 years old and in his prime. He's one of the best deep threat WR's in the NFL and a physical mismatch against any NFL CB. He's managed 6300 yards and 48 TD in 6 seasons despite mediocre QB play most of his NFL career. Getting him in Buffalo for a 2nd and a 4th would be a steal. I'd do cartwheels and I've never done a cartwheel in my life...lol... The rest of the AFC would shudder at the thought of DK matched with Josh in Buffalo... He's literally exactly what we need and then some. -
He may be the best run defender in the Draft... The question with Williams is whether or not he's going to get on the field much in obvious passing downs. But I think for what he brings he's about as safe a pick as you're going to get in the late 1st-early 2nd... I imagine Baltimore does not want us to Draft Williams...

I'm seeing a lot of Kenneth Grant at 30 mocks... At this point of the process...Grant is pretty much my #1 guy for the Bills based on all things considered. I think he's that massive piece in the middle we've lacked. With the emphasis on massive of course. That being said I'm pretty sure he's our Brian Thomas Jr of this Draft. Unless we are willing to move up into the low 20's I don't think it's a reality. He's just too much of a freak with too good a floor to get to 30...JMO...

In the Elam Draft George Pickens was the highest rated player remaining on my board, and tbh it was not even that close... I knew he was crazy too... I knew it... But I was willing to take a chance because the idea of paring him with Josh was just so exciting to me... I loved Riq Woolen in that Draft too and could never understand why they would take Elam over him. Especially because it was almost certainly going to cost higher Draft capital. Woolen ended up sliding to the 5th, which was a joke... But anyway...

Shakir, Benford, Cook and Bernard: Who Gets a Contract Extension?
KOKBILLS replied to NoName's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Bernard will be the 1st because he's a Captain, it's a low AAV, and it will be a home town deal. Benford will be next because it's a premium position and the Bills are lost at CB without him... Shakir is super tricky... I don't know... I love the guy and I'll take him over almost any slot in the league... But WR salaries are through the roof and I think the value in this offense, if it stays everyone eats, may be in question at almost 20M AAV... Still, how do you not re-sign that guy? I've been pretty clear on my stance where Jimbo is concerned. Love him, but anything over 10M AAV and I'm pretty much out... Furthermore I have to wonder if it's not a better team building strategy to trade him now while he's at peak value, save the 5.2M on the cap in 2025, and Draft a RB somewhere in Rds. 2-5 in what looks to be an absolutely loaded RB class... -
I'm definitely not one to say a player does not deserve his market value. But perspective is important here as well... By the end of the 2025 season Cook will have earned over 9 million dollars in the NFL as a late 2nd Rd pick. He's not an every down back, so that's not too shabby. Not to mention he'll be a UFA in 2026 and baring any major injury this year he's going to command a hefty raise no matter what... And he's earned it no question. I love Jimbo and I absolutely appreciate what he's done for this team. But if he's going down the "pay me" road his brother has led him to...if I was Beane...I would package him up in a nice bow and send him off for hopefully a 3rd or 4th round pick, then I would use one of my 2nd-5th round picks on a RB in what appears to be one of the best RB Drafts in recent history. No disrespect to Cook. A trade brings a 5.26 million cap savings in 2025, and who knows, a premium RB could very well slide into the 4th round this year. I just think it's logical to move on now if Cook is looking for anything other than a home town deal.

The Stadium Wall is a great place to come talk about the Bills
KOKBILLS replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's been my home on the internet for over 25 years now... I signed up on my friends computer sometime in the later 90's when all I can remember from then was AOL... I did not even have my own computer yet... Kultar reached out to me and I wrote a couple Draft articles when I was younger and had the energy to do that stuff... Best site on the internet and it's not even close... -
No thank you on the undersized edge... He's a good player, but not at all what I think the Bills need right now. I like Royals. If the Bills like him that's about where they will have to take him because this is a weak WR Draft and the good ones are going to go fast. No way Morrison makes it to 62 unless the injury concerns are real, and if so, then I don't want him. If he's healthy that's a grand larceny-type steal in the late 2nd. The Bowman and Simon picks are OK... Overall I would not be thrilled with this Draft because of Ezeiruaku at the top...
-
15 is a bit crazy for a RB IMHO... But I expect the Bills and Cook to work something out... If not though, Beane needs to unload him now when his market value may be at it's peak... It's going to take more from Beane than being a solid B GM to get this team over the hump... That means he's going to have to take some chances. This is one of the best RB Drafts in recent history. There will be good starting caliber RB's in the 3rd and 4th Rds this year...maybe later...So moving Cook now may be the best move long term for this team. I'd rather keep him. But he's a RB...So only on a home town deal...

The Eagles beat the Chiefs by doing the opposite of the Bills
KOKBILLS replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Without digging in at all yet, generally it seemed to me that Mahomes was ultra quick with his decisions and confident against the Bills D... Receivers were open and he knew where he was going with the ball fast. Philly got him to hesitate, and even a slightest hesitation can be trouble against that bunch because they are very big, and very athletic on that front 4... But it did seem like his 1st read was taken away a lot last night... And he was flat out panicking a lot. -
Opinion: Bills SHOULD hire Doug Pederson as assistant HC
KOKBILLS replied to MrEpsYtown's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills problem is McD's system and talent on Defense now, and especially the Defensive game planning in the last game of the playoffs the last 5 years. Find another Defensive ex HC like Spags to come in and help and I'm all ears...
