  1. I'll never forget that moment...I really thought Ngata was the Pick...It's weird because I did not give it a 2nd thought...Then the card came in and it was like...Huh?...Really?...Okey-doke... Well...How about Ngata, Orakpo, Ryan Clady, and Derrelle Revis instead of Whitner, Maybin, Lynch, and McLovin...
  2. Honestly this is a REAL tough question! I'm not sure they can do anything right now to make me happy...Cancel the Kelsay extension? I don't know...I don't care much about anything Fitz does cause he's not our QB of the future...And a win right now would be great, but then again not so much...Cause the only way the Bills can assure themselves of having the pick of the litter is to finish with the worst record...Can you imagine going 2-14 and losing out on a Franchise QB to Cleveland because they went 1-15?...Man that would suck! And having that 1st Pick opens all possibilities... So I guess the answer can only be long term...Secure the #1 Pick in the 2011 Draft...That would make me VERY happy...
  3. Totally 100% agree with that!!! I was holding my breath...
  4. I was thinking he saw the receiver get shoved down and was looking to get a cheap call...But that may be giving Trent WAY too much credit...
  5. Wow! You have a TON of confidence in Troupe and Carrington...And I hope you're right...It's early...But so far Carrington can't show enough to be active and it's not like Troupe is doing much to prove he's going to an anchor anything any time soon...Players make plays...Neither is doing much yet...Potential is a word that starts with p...that's about it... You're right about the new Folks in power, but there are holdovers as well in Scouting...So I'm not going to give anybody over there the benefit of the doubt just yet...Again I hope you're right about this Draft Class...But I think it's WAY to early to judge one way or the other just yet...
  6. Well he may have a moment every now and again but the gap between Whitner and Ngata is still pretty freaking wide...Not to mention the Positional importance, etc...
  7. How did Teddy and Marv not see eye to eye? I don't recall that at all? As for the punctuation police around here I would not sweat it much...It's a message board not an English essay test...
  8. I thought it was Henry Jones..I seem to remember Marv bringing up his name a lot after the Whitner Pick...Maybe it was just everyone else bring Jones name up...I can't recall...No matter though...Whitner is not as good as Jones or Smith...Period...
  9. You pretty much nailed it...hard to make plays flailing around or on the ground...The Kid looks so out of his league at times it's amazing he was even considered at #11 overall...Watching Orakpo, Matthews, and Cushing literally makes me nauseous...I just can't believe people who actually get paid to Scout and evaluate Talent picked that Kid over over those 3...It boggles the mind...
  10. I agree about Mallett John... Especially considering what is currently on the Roster... And I will say this about Bell...He's improving...He's still only 26 Years old and if you go back and read what they were saying about him when he entered the NFL his career has pretty much followed the path that those who believed in his upside thought it would...He came into the NFL SO completely raw but with almost ideal Frame and athletic ability...He needed a TON of work in the weight-room (which I'm assuming he's done) and a ton of PT (which has, for better or worse, been forced upon him)...He's still going to struggle at times, and he has struggled at times this year...That's a given because he's still relatively new to the Game and he had the injury to boot...He's definitely not a mauler, but honestly at this point, assuming he continues to improve and get healthier, I don't see a LT from the 2011 Draft beating him out anyway...And it should be noted that whipping boy or not, Bell's play is about on par with some recent Top 10 OT Draft Picks...Sure The Bills could use a Franchise caliber LT...But compared to QB, RT, LB, and a few other Positions...Bell is actually OK...And there is hope he will get MUCH better...
  11. True Rich, but I gotta believe in this case IF they are in the Position to take the 1st QB in the Draft the complaints will be FAR less... Not on TSW of coarse...Just in general...
  12. I know it's a bit early for predictions but...Who cares...The Bills suck and it's something to do... IF Mallett is on the Board when the Bills Picks and IF Luck is A) Already gone or, B) Stays in school as expected...Ryan Mallett will be the next Buffalo Bills QB... There is absolutely no doubt in my mind if that scenario plays out that's what will happen...
  13. This is only a surprise for folks not paying attention...I heard last year that Luck was VERY likely to stay for at least the 2011 Season in Stanford...He's supposedly very close to his Sister who also goes to school there...So it's no surprise at all to hear he's likely to stay...
  14. Exactly... Saying Donte is not at least part of the problem, let alone a symbol for why the Bills suck so bad, is just ignoring the obvious for the sake of pointing out what may be more obvious...We can talk forever about the other problems on this Team...There are plenty...Are there areas worse than SS? Sure there are...Were any of those Players the #8 overall Draft Pick? Nope...Are any of those players the vocal leaders on their side of the ball? Not really...The only person on the team I will say is more of an example of what is wrong with the Bills, and has been wrong with the Bills for years now, is Kelsay...But that does not make the Whitner situation any better...I've said forever that Whitner is not to be blamed for the idiocy of Drafting him #8 Overall, but that does not mean we need to make excuses for him either...He's just not that good...If he was he would make a TON more plays on the field...It really is as simple as that...It's not about player-hating or any of that garbage...It's about the fact that the #8 overall player in the 2006 Draft is simply not much more or less than just there...He does not make a difference on the field any where near enough... All I'm saying is lets stop pretending that if this or that happens, and if whatever was this way, Whitner would somehow not be so bad...Or furthermore lets stop saying it's not a big deal cause he's not the biggest problem on what is a terrible NFL football team...He may very well not be the biggest problem...but it's a problem nonetheless...And that problem is compounded by the fact that he was a Top 10 Draft Pick.. I doubt very much Whitner is in the long term plans for this Organization due to his play and his play only...We'll see though...I hope by some sort of Gods Grace Donte can change my mind by the end of this year...I have serious doubts about that though...Very serious doubts...
  15. I've been personally insulted a million times but I'm still here... Seriously though if you've been around here as long as some of us have and you can't recognize the difference between then and now...well...You'd have to be pretty clueless...I'm 100% certain the fact that the Bills (as an Organization) have been a complete joke is most definitely a contributing factor...But in comparison to say, MMORPG.com...This is actually quite tame...
  16. This ^ is spot on... And I'm not sure I can express how sick and tired I am about this little undercurrent of the Whitner backers who want to prop the guy up, for what reason I have absolutely no clue...It's actually embarrassing sometimes...I can't for the life of me figure out what player these folks are watching...But it sure as hell is not the SS I'm watching... And let me get this out first...No one is saying Whitner is useless...He does some things well enough...He certainly does have the athletic ability to be a good NFL SS...He's a willing hitter despite being a bit undersized...But he's no where even close to the Player he was supposed to be, or the Player he thinks he is... There are a few things that the Whitner lovers out there simply refuse to properly acknowledge...You can't just say the guy is not a bad player, and even though he's not exactly living up to his #8 overall status, he's leading the worst Defense in the league in Tackles...So he's not the problem really...Right? Um...No, not right...His Draft status is 100% the most relevant thing about his play. especially because the guy never seems to back down from thinking he's something special...Now I will say this much, it's not Donte's fault those idiots Drafted him at #8 overall...But it happened...And this Team needs him to play like a star, not like an average NFL SS who can't cover a TE to save his life...You want to bring up stats, how about 12 Passes Defended in 58 NFL Games as a Safety...That's not a typo...It's a fact...12 Passes Defended!!!! That's about one Pass Defended every 5 freaking Games!!! He has ZERO Passes Defended in 2010...ZERO...And don't forget Donte has played some FS in his career...12 Passed Defended in 58 Games is almost impossible to do as an NFL Safety...Don't believe me? Well lets look at the Safeties Drafted after Whitner in the 2006 Draft...Roman Harper 29 Passes Defended in 56 Games, Daniel Manning 22 Passes Defended and 6 INT's in 66 Games, Bernard Pollard 18 Passes Defended and 7 INT's in 66 Games...Donte Whitner was the #8 Pick in the 2006 Draft...There was only 7 Players in the entire Draft taken ahead of Whitner...He's expected to be better...period...end of story...Heck the SS Drafted one pick ahead of Whitner has been lambasted in the Media as a disappointment in Oakland yet he has 32 Passes defended in 69 Games...The Bills were expecting to get the next Polamalu or Wilson...They got well... Donte Whitner... And don't tell me Whitner would be better with more talent around him...Sure I'd like to test that theory...But Teams already pick on him in the passing Game...With more talent around him he would just become more of a target... I have to say this much...As long as the Whitner loving Bills Fans stay the course they will likely not be bothered with the losing...Cause if you can't see how Whitner is not good enough in the grand scheme of things, then losing football games wont be a big deal at all...
  17. And when their names are Kelly, Marino, Elway, Manning, Manning II, Rivers, Big Ben, etc...They win a LOT of games, even some Super Bowls, and go the Hall Of Fame... It's all relative...You have to pick the right guy and sometimes that's not so easy...But it's not impossible either...
  18. Everything is more fun when you win... At the same time stuff like this can really irritate Fans when you're losing...Especially when you have not won a game yet...Yet more enjoyment to be shared from the fact that the Bills flat out suck...
  19. And with the success he's had with it why would he change now?
  20. Agreed...And don't forget Miami and Atlanta before that...The Jets went 4-12 in 2005 and 2007...Seems like the Bills are just about the only Organization outside of Detriot (Franchise QB in place and improving) and Houston (an expansion team with Franchise QB in place and FAR more talent overall than the Bills) that can't get it right for at least one year out of five...We've had 10 years of excuses...The saddest thing is many Bills fans have fallen prey to the lesser expectations and dumb ass explanations of why we suck again...A couple of years like this in the 90's and Folks would have been storming OBD...Now it's just the way it is...Makes me wanna puke...
  21. 100% agree with that statement...Truer words have rarely been written on this Board...
  22. True...And I'm not singling out your Post when I say... The MAIN difference is...Jason Taylor is Jason Taylor...And Aaron Maybin, despite what Todd McShay believed is...well...NOT Jason Taylor... Taylor entered the NFL a bit lighter than he is now, but there was never any question he was a player...Maybin can't even get on the Field in his 2nd year...I'm not questioning whether or not Maybin could be utilized better due to his skill set...I am saying some Folks around here are setting the bar a bit high for this Kid...He's just not very good right now...No matter what stance he's in...He's getting owned out there on a regular basis...He's can't beat out Kelsay, a Journeyman OLB, or a couple Rookies for PT...Lets be real Folks...It's not just the Coaching...Maybin is just not very good right now and he's well on his way to being out of the NFL in a couple years if he can't improve REAL quickly...
  23. Not saying you're wrong or anything joe but we need this reminder? Did you kick your dog today as well?
  24. So let me get this straight...You wanna go back in time to those wonder years of a Fewell led D?...Even a Fewell led team? Right...That's why the Bills had all those winning Seasons with Fewell as DC... And I've heard all the excuses...I saw all the Games...Every down of every one...Can we just freaking move on please? Like I said he's not a bad Coach...And sure I'll admit he's better than the DC we've got now...But this revisionist history is about as ridiculous as it gets...And once again proof that the overall mentality around here has bottomed out...Fewell is gone...He's not coming back, and he was no better than average while he was here...I wish him all the best...Hugs, kisses and all that sweet stuff... Move on...Nothing to see here...The Bills still suck...
