Not saying I know, because I don't...But my guess has been that the Bills have coveted Gabbert all along...NFL Networks top info guys (Lombardi, Casserly, etc...) have been saying for weeks now that the vast majority of Teams looking at 1st Round QB's prefer Gabbert over Newton...And I think The Bills are in that vast majority... It seems as if The Panthers are in the minority preferring Newton over Gabbert...And that may very well work in the Bills favor big time...I can say that being down here in Charlotte everyone seems to think Newton is the Pick at #1 overall...And the name I hear most after Newton is Peterson...Nix may be sweating a bit knowing they have Gabbert rated well ahead of Newton and hoping the Panthers don't feel the same...I just have a feeling The Bills don't want to be sitting there at #3 with Gabbert and Darius gone...That's why Buddy would rather be at #1...It takes the worst case scenario (still not a bad place to be though) out of play...That's just my guess...

I'm not too big on Drafting Players with injuries...But IF Bruce Carter fell far enough...to say, the 4th Round...I would be intrigued..

I'm down here too (Charlotte NC) and that's what I keep hearing as well...The Panthers, like the Bills, need someone that is going to bring excitement...The City is really turned off right now...Bringing in Cam would be a HUGE boost for the Team...I would not be surprised at all...Then the Bills take Gabbert at #3 I guess...

Whatever... Saying Fitz is a Championship caliber QB is a joke and you know it...He's no where near a Championship caliber QB...The gap between Fitz and guys like Manning, Brees, Rodgers...even Big Ben might as well be the Grand Canyon...Championship Caliber QB with a career 12-23 record... How about waiting till the guy has one, ONE winning season before making a stupid statement like that?...It's ridiculous... And comparing Gabbert to Trent and saying "us guys" is not going to win you any backing either...No Bills Fan want another Trent Edwards...You can do better than that... We'll see how Gabbert's career compares to Fitz's 5 years from now...You keep spewing out those numbers you're always spewing around here...I'm going to go with Mike Mayock and just about every other expert who thinks Gabbert should be the #1 Pick in this Draft because his potential is off the charts...You gamble on greatness with a QB...Sometimes you win and a lot of times you lose...When you win your Franchise is in the Playoffs for the majority of a decade plus...It's worth the risk...ESPECIALLY for the Buffalo Bills...

1) Gabbert - Best QB prospect in the Draft...Super smart and hard working...The safer Pick at QB... Definitely a Team Leader-type at the most important Position...Very high ceiling... 2) Newton - He's the most famous College football Player since??? How long has it been since Buffalo had a rookie QB like this???? Ticket sales anyone? 2nd best QB Prospect who seems to have a knack for great things...limitless ceiling...Type of QB who could spark an entire Locker Room to great things...He's not VY or Jamarcus...He REALLY wants to be the best...That does not mean he'll make it 100%...but it won't be from a lack of trying if he doesn't...At least I don't think it will...I don't buy this short-cut stuff about him...I don't buy that he's a Prima donna...I think he's just a Kid and handling it as best as he can right now...He does not come off disingenuous to me...I do worry how long it will take him to really learn the NFL and become a complete QB...But I'm not betting against the Kid I know that much... 3) Darius/Miller - I have no preference between the two and like them equally...If Newton and Gabbert somehow went 1, 2 I'd probably have go with the big man over the LB...Both are HUGE Needs...Both should be solid NFL Players for a long time...

I don't think that at all...I think they're life long Football guys who know damn well the Bills need a Franchise QB...Neither Nix nor Gailey is the type to play Games much...I think they say what they mean and they mean what they say...I'm not saying they are always right either...Just saying that's how they are...A Franchise QB is absolutely #1 on The Bills list...Ralph has set that in stone...The only question is whether or not Nix/Gailey think Gabbert or Newton can be that guy...

I'm pretty certain that a HUGE part of taking a QB at #3 is the fact that they know Fitz will start in 2011...It REALLY takes the pressure off the Kid as a Rookie, especially considering it's going to be Gabbert or Newton and there is a large learning curve for both of them...I've said all along that having a guy like Fitz in house makes it FAR more likely The Bills will take a QB at #3...Fitz relieves a lot of the pressure if you ask me...

I'm uncertain why you keep asking this question and patting yourself on the back for what you believe makes it so clever...It's not a clever question... 1st off if Luck came out in this Draft he would be a Carolina Panther period...end of story...So The Bills would still have zero chance of Drafting him and would still need a Franchise QB...Secondly, a QB Prospect like Luck comes along maybe once every 5 years...The last QB to come out of College with a resume similar to Luck's was Eli Manning in 2004...So does that Make Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, or Aaron Rodgers any less desirable? Comparing Luck to ANY QB Prospect is unfair at this point...He's far and away the best NFL Prospect at any Position right now...But just because Luck is Projected to be the next Elway does not mean Newton and Gabbert won't be the next Kelly or Marino...The two things have nothing to do with each other whatsoever...The Bills do not expect to be in the position to Draft Luck next Season, and I for one hope they're not...So I guess I simply don't see you're point in asking that question over and over again... Just saying...

Agreed... They are saying what they need to say about the QB that will most likely be their Starter in 2011, and gone or the Back-up in 2012...

Aikman, Young, Favre, Elway, Big Ben, Rodgers, Brees, and Warner would all be considered Premier QB's who Won SB's...Mark Rypien had a hell of a good year when the Redskins Won in 92...The vast majority of Super Bowls Champs have been led by Premier QB talent going back 25 years... Now I understand all of those QB's were not Top 5 Picks...But the argument that a dominant Defense (and we all know the Bills are LIGHT YEARS away from being a dominant Defense) is equal to a Premier QB in this day-and-age of the NFL is laughable...It's simply not even close...Listen to the real experts...Guys like Mike Mayock...It's a QB's league, and anyone who is in the know understands that... The Bills better get a Premier QB sometime soon...Maybe it will be with the #3 Pick, maybe not...But one thing I do know...They are going to have to pass on either Gabbert or Newton if they go D at #3 overall...Maybe both...And God forbid if one of those Kids ends up being a Premier QB in the NFL and we are still having this discussion in 2012 or 2013...That would be sickening...

I don't disagree necessarily, but I'd say it's a MUCH bigger problem passing on a QB at #3 that turns out to be great...Now I'm not saying that will be the case with any of these kids...But if The Bills pass on one of these QB's and they turn out to be the next big thing...OH BOY! No one is going to be talking about playing it safe then...I can promise you that much...

Oh God not this argument again... Let just say the chances of the Bills building a Defense like the 2000 Ravens and the 2002 Bucs is slim and none...And Slim done left Town... You want a FAR better chance at winning a SB? Get and elite QB...Going back to Aikman there has been Young, Elway, Favre, Warner, Brady, Big Ben, the Mannings, Brees and now Rogers...Basically 16 of the last 19 SB's have been Won by a Team with an Elite QB (leaving Eli off the list of elites)...So there you go...

Now don't get me wrong...I'm not saying Stevie is an unquestioned #1 WR...But he's MOST DEFINITELY a #2...As is Lee...Quit trying to make Fitz out to be some kind of Superman...There were Players on Offense stepping up all over the Field for him last season...Steve Johnson being first among them...Fitz was sacked less than twice per Game behind that patchwork O-Line...Those UFA WR's led by David Nelson and Donald Jones showed plenty of promise for Rookies...When was the last time the Bills had 3 (including Marques Easley) ROOKIE WR's with this much upside? NO question TE is a HUGE Need in Buffalo...But good grief...Exaggerate much? Fitz is what he is and he'll be fine as the Starter in 2011...But IF The Bills don't do something right now to solidify the future at QB we'll be looking at another decade of futility...Assuming they don't finish bad enough to win the Luck sweepstakes of coarse...I fully expect The Bills to Draft a QB somewhere in the first 3 Rounds of the 2011 Draft and they would be VERY wise to do so... If anyone believes Gailey and Nix when they say they know Fitz can get us to the Playoffs I've got some PRIME Real Estate for sale in Florida they should take a look at...Have we really forgotten what good Football looks like THAT much? Who exactly was projecting Rivers to be a 3rd Round Pick? Because whoever it was I hope they are no longer covering the NFL Draft...I don't remember anything like that whatsoever...

I'm not crazy about Miller to The Bills...But lets be perfectly clear about something...As a Prospect there is absolutely NO...and I mean NO comparison between Miller and Maybin other than their Position... Miller is the anti-Maybin...
