  1. Game by Game Fitz did do pretty well last Season...Outside of that Pats Game he did not play very well vs. KC, Chicago, or Minnesota...He was up and down in some other Games...His stat line was not great vs. Pittsburgh either, but we all know it should have been better... I still think though, at this point, it's just as easy to assume Fitz comes back down to earth than it is to project improvement...His 81.8 QB Rating was a full 10 points higher than any of his previous years, and he had started 23 Games prior to 2010...Most of The Bills Offensive talent was perceived to be at RB last Season...And our QB play before Fitz got in there was terrible...So opposing Defenses were geared up to stop the Run, and daring Fitz to beat them....And he did just that quite often...We'll see what happens in 2011...My guess is The Bills will be able to Run the Ball better initially as Defenses will be FAR more aware of Fitz's strengths and will be committed to shutting him down...And that's not necessarily a bad thing unless The Bills get behind... I hope Fitz can continue to improve because no matter what The Bills do at QB for the future he's going to be the guy in 2011...But I'm not going to assume he improves necessarily...The last Game he started was at Home vs. one of the worst Pass Defenses in the league (statistically) and he was pretty awful...So we'll see...
  2. I remember a NFL Network Film session Mayock did on Maybin where he said he had MAJOR concerns about whether or not he could hold up vs. the Run in the NFL...I'm pretty sure during that segment Mayock said he would not take Maybin in the 1st Round...Mayock is not 100% either...But he's the best in the business...
  3. Meaningless stats...Seriously? You have got to be kidding...Meaningless like 12-23 as an NFL Starter? Meaningless stats...
  4. This is a no-brainer... Peterson if he's there all the way...
  5. Last time I checked the armadillo was lapping Brady...So what's your point?
  6. This is really an excellent point...Not sure why no one else has used this argument, in this way, up to this point...But it truly speaks to exactly why some of us simply do not feel Fitz is the guy past 2011...
  7. I'm not sure why his point is completely invalid...It's turning things around to make his point...In those Teams you have excellent Defenses and overall rosters with very good Franchise QB's...Whether or not Fitz would do as well with those Teams is the exact thing we are all trying to figure out here about Fitz...I think looking at it that way further shows that if you don't think Fitz could do as well with those Teams, the risk of using #3 on one of those "highly questionable QB prospects" (your words...some Scouts definitely disagree) becomes MUCH, much easier to stomach...
  8. Well he seems to have the work ethic in the gym...Not sure he applies it to the Football Field in any way...But his body-fat has got to be less than 5%...That's not exactly easy...My guess on Maybin is that he's just not too good...Can't play with leverage, and has about zero functional strength on the field...I'm not sure if it's from a lack of effort as much as it is from a lack of being any good...
  9. The short clip I just saw of his session with Gabbert was brutal...Too much trying to get a laugh and showing Peyton Manning coming away from center a million times...OK we get the point Coach... In that clip he barely gave Gabbert a chance to speak...It was pretty lame to be honest...And I like Gruden...
  10. And if Fitz regresses while one of these 1st Round QB's we pass looks like a Franchise guy, what say you then? It can happen you know? And once again it will be "what if?" in Buffalo...
  11. I was thinking today...We know how much Buddy loves Rivers...So I was wondering what Rivers Stats were compared to Mallet's in their Jr Years... And here is it... Rivers started 14 Games was 262-418 for 3,353 and a 62.7 completion percentage...Rivers had 20 TD's vs. 10 INT's and a 141.07 QB Rating in the ACC as a Jr... Mallett started 13 Games was 266-411 for 3,869 and a 64.7 completion percentage...Mallett had 32 TD's vs. 12 INT's and a 163.65 QB Rating in the SEC as a Jr... I know Mallett was sacked 25 times last Season...Pretty sure Rivers was sacked 17 times as a Soph...Can't find any Sack Stats for Rivers Jr Year, but I know he was not sacked much in College...Rivers Rep was of coarse squeaky clean...Mallett not-so-much, though much of the talk is complete rumor... Just saying btw...
  12. One thing I do know about McCoy was during the process last Season NFL Network especially wanted to hype-up the fact that some Teams may have had him rated ahead of Suh...Heck even Mike Mayock had McCoy ahead of Suh (though he was clear he loved Suh as well)...I do not get to watch a ton of Big 12 Football, but one thing I knew for sure from what I did see is that not in a million years would I have taken McCoy over Suh...It seemed to me to be a ridiculous conversation...One guy looked pretty darn good, the other one looked like Reggie-freaking White... With the D-Line prospects this year I would say based on what I've seen that Dareus looks solid, but Fairley looked like Bruce-freaking Smith...They said Bruce was soft when he came out of Va Tech...They say Fairley is soft and lazy now...We'll see if Fairley can develop a Bruce-like work ethic...If he does look out, cause that Kid will be an absolute monster...I don't think there is another D-Line in the Top of this Draft that can sniff Fairley's potential...There are plenty of solid if not spectacular D-Linemen in this Draft...To me Dareus is more in the McCoy mode...Very solid...I worry about the Ends...Quinn with limited tape and Bowers with the knee...JJ Watt looks real safe too...
  13. See...I keep reading this type of thing on this Board like it is stated fact...Like some Members on this Board are part of a Pro Scouting Staff and have determined, without question that Newton, Gabbert, or any of the other guys in this Draft can't be a Franchise QB...What we are going to see come Draft Day is that some Teams, maybe even including The Buffalo Bills, will differ with that opinion...I know for an absolute fact that Talent evaluators who have made their living doing so like Mike Mayock, Michael Lombardi, and Charlie Casserly, along with ex NFL QB's like Trent Green, feel that Gabbert is Franchise QB...Newton has his backers who think he's a Franchise guy...Heck PLENTY of evaluators believe that Mallett has HUGE upside and may be the best QB in the lot assuming he's truly matured and works hard... I'm going to go with the opinions of those who are in the know, then wait to see what happens come April 28th...Because I promise everyone here that there are plenty of Scouts who feel there are Franchise QB's among this lot...And IF the Bills don't think so like some around here, and they turn out being wrong, it's a HUGE...I mean MASSIVE mistake... Just saying...
  14. Says the guy who's impartiality can be judged by anyone who can see his avatar... I'm pretty sure there are plenty of Draftable QB's in 2011 who can put up a 73.0 Passer Rating and complete 58% of their Passes in 40 NFL Starts...They don't have to be Franchise QB's to do that much...
  15. I think Christ had the same job when they had a Franchise QB too... Just saying...
  16. Exactly...And those Defenses are pretty darn good too... I've been saying that for months and months now...Thank you... I simply don't understand why the assumption is at this point of his career that he will continue to improve...I think certainly it's possible...But it's equally possible he regresses or returns to 2009 form too...
  17. Further proof of the cluelessness some Bills Fans have reached...It's got so ridiculous around here I'm not sure why I bother...
  18. Picking Gabbert at #3 Overall scares me too, but not nearly as much as passing on him and seeing him turn into a Top 10 NFL QB...That would be devastating...That's why I feel in the end, if there is a risk factor regardless of Prospect, it's better to risk it on the QB...
  19. I would be shocked if Denver did not take Dareus at #2 Overall...Assuming he does not go #1 to Carolina of coarse...
  20. For 2011 I would tend to agree... But we'll see how you feel about Fitz in a few years if The Bills put their future in his hands...I doubt they'll do that anyway...But if so we'll see...
  21. I think part of the problem with a debate like this is the fact that some NFL Teams have a hard time projecting players like Miller and Quinn...The main reason I'd rather see The Bills shy away from both these guys is the sobering thought that this is basically the same Scouting Staff that thought Maybin would be a better Pro than Orakpo or Matthews...That thought alone makes me scared to death that this Team is considering another OLB/Pass Rusher with the #3 Overall Pick...I don't trust their ability to get it right no matter what to be honest... If I had to choose between the two I would choose Miller though...More production to evaluate...He was a beast at A&M...
  22. Fair enough... I guess I'd rather here the normal "Fitz is our QB right now," instead of this Playoff and Championship garbage...It's too much for me to stomach I guess...
  23. I really don't mind Gailey as a HC...But I also don't think it helps much when your Head Coach is out there making stupid statements like "We can go to the Playoffs with Fitz as a QB," or "We can win a Championship with Fitz as a QB." After a 4-12 Season that saw Fitz go 4-9 as a Starter?...Those 4 Wins coming vs. Teams with a combined 22-42 Record in 2010... I'm not sure why the heck Gailey has to go out on that limb in the Press...Talk about giving false hope...lol...There HAS to be a reason for it though...Maybe to keep hope if their guy gets Drafted and they decide not to go QB in the 1st few Rounds??? I don't know...But Bills Fans should be smart enough to sift through the Draft time rhetoric and understand that just because Gailey is saying it certainly does not make it so...Did Gailey not also praise and back Edwards till he simply could not do it anymore? Exactly...
