On the 3rd Down INT that Nelson dropped he was 2 yards short of the 1st Down marker...I've never seen a Team throw so many passes within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage (in-front or behind)...This is the NFL...And Chan's inability to come up with anything besides what WAS working a few weeks back is beginning to be troubling...These plays are not working and the Defenses they are facing are on to it quite obviously...Add to that the fact that Fitz has come back down to earth and this Offense looks REAL bad...I mean REAL bad all of a sudden...I know this is not popular to say about Pro athletes...But it sure as hell looks like a few guys have quit out there...Either that or they have definitely lost confidence in this Offenses ability to move the Ball consistently...Add that to the worst Defense in football and that's how you get down to a 2 win Team by over 20 points in one half of football...Pathetic...

No Team in the NFL deserves Andrew Luck more than the Buffalo Bills...They managed to screw that up too! Unbelievable... The Bills could make my 11 year old Nephew look like a Pro Bowl QB...And he plays DT...

A gimme? Are you kidding? Seriously who said that? Who in God's name would think this Bills Team could beat anyone easy, on the Road nonetheless, the way they have been playing?...Especially on Defense...A gimme? The Fish should have been favored by a TD...or more...

Well...It certainly could not hurt to get rid of him...The Bills could keep all 11 Defenders on the sideline and the result would be the same...Teams pretty much do what they want, when they want vs. this Defense...It is the worst Defense in the NFL...Period...End of story...A complete embarrassment...Making Matt Moore look like Joe Montana is not easy believe me...I watched him a couple years in Carolina...But this Defense can do it...It make ma want to projectile vomit...

Well... If that happens, and Williams follows the rest of these Defensive youngsters in terms of development (or lack thereof), it should be just enough to wreck his confidence for next year...

All true... And I never expected The Bills to be a Top 10 Defense in 2011 anyway...But it's hard for me to believe they are so talent poor that they can't be Top 20...Unless the talent gap is specifically Coaching...I think that's where we have the least amount of talent on Defense...In fact I don't think we have any Defensive Coaching talent at all...

I agree The Bills need more playmakers...But outside of a few NFL teams everyone is in that boat...It's what you do with the talent you're given...Before Gailey got here who would have thought Stevie Johnson would even be considered an NFL #1 WR? David Nelson was undrafted and now he's making plays on most Sundays...Chandler was cut by SD and Dallas...It's what you get out of what you've got...Then you add when you can... The Bills are not without talent, heck even playmakers on Defense...Granted there is a need for more (especially Pass Rushers), but there's not many DC's in the league who would not love to have George Wilson, Dareus...heck even Carrington and Nick Barnett...Barnett said it yesterday, "We have talent, no one can say we don't. We've got guys who can run with any guys, jump with any guys, hit any guys..." So right now, as the Bills stand today, their #1 Need on Defense is a Coach who can hang, game-plan, and sometimes outsmart opposing Offenses...And Edwards has proven he can't get that job done...After 11 Draft Picks over 2 years this Defense is actually statistically WORSE than last year...WORSE! How is that even possible?...I'll tell you how...Terrible Coaching...That's how... I'm not saying The Bills don't have talent problems on D...I'm not saying injuries and the lack of an off-season are not factors...But when you look at a Team like Houston...A Team who had no off-season as well AND switched from a 4-3 to a 3-4...It's hard to make excuses when all Bills Fans were hoping for was an average NFL Defense...Can you imagine how much better this Team would be overall if The Bills simply had the 16th ranked Defense? And I firmly believe a quality NFL Defensive Coordinator could take this Bills talent and produce an average Defense...So Edwards has GOT to go...He sucks and he's greatly over-matched as far as x's and o's, along with game-plans, are concerned...Not to mention Edwards and his Staff can't develop a young player to save their lives...At least that's my take on it...

BTW Astro...I gotta say...I may not agree with everything you write everytime, but you're johnny-on-the-spot when it comes to Draft info around here...And for that reason alone you are one of my favorite Posters... Thanks!!! The Bills will continue to add talent on Defense...And they'll get a Coach that will max out that talent...Can't give the 4-3, 3-4 excuse...Look what Wade is doing in Houston...From 30 to 1 in one Year...Coaching is HUGE!!! Talent is too, but Coaching is HUGE...

You don't think Coaching has anything to do with this Defense being flat out terrible 2 years in a row dispite 11 Draft Picks on Defense including the #3 Overall DT?...You don't think Coaching has anything to do with the fact that most Offenses look like they have been studying our Playbook more than our Defense has?...You don't think Coaching has much to do with Sanchez and Romo...2 average NFL QB's, carving us up like a Thanksgiving Turkey? You don't think Coaching has anything to do with the fact that we Draft seemingly good Prospects and they continuosly underachieve? You think Edwards is an NFL calibre Defensive Coordinator? Look...Everyone knows the Bills need more Pass Rush and a CB...But there is not an NFL Defense that does not have a need or two...This Bills Defense is flat out terrible despite the fact that they have some talent...Coaching and Player development is severely lacking on this Team and it's painstakingly obvious...Edwards could not Coach his way out of a paper bag...He's brutal and every Offensive Coordinator in the NFL would tell you if they could...Edwards is the equivalent of a bye-week forfeit for most Offensive Coordinators that face him...He makes Perry Fewell look like Buddy Ryan in his Bears days...Edwards sucks... Where is the Kid from Notre Dame projected to go?

This coming Draft may very well be loaded with WR talent...Plus there are some nice UFA WR's that will be available...I honestly think much of our Defensive woes (outside of a Pass Rusher) will be addressed by a Coaching change on that side of the ball...I'm sure The Bills will look to add a UFA or two on Defense as well...Anyway...I'm beginning to believe more and more that a WR will be Drafted by Buffalo in one of the 1st two Rounds...It's a massive need, and at this point it's easier to try and bring the Offensive side to Playoff caliber...If The Bills can land a play-making WR while re-signing Stevie, and just get the Defense to be respectable, they should be right in the chase...

It likely won't matter...7 days, 10 days, a month...The Jets will remain a bad match-up for The Bills unless something changes drastically...And now that The Bills are REAL banged up the chance of anything changing drastically are slim and none...And slim done left Town... 103-32 in the last three Games...The Jets will be coming off an embarrassing loss with 10 days to prepare...I'll choose to expect the worst and hope to be pleasantly surprised...But no breath holding going on here...

It's not excuses...The injuries? Now that's excuses... Name one Game outside of Washington and KC (both those Teams were obviously pretty bad Offensively) where The Bills Defensive Coaches came up with an outstanding Game Plan to stop (not slow down) an opponent? Teams have marched up and down the Field on us all year...If we don't get the Turnovers vs. NE and Philly we get slaughtered in those Games too...Look at the 6 Quarter span of Sanchez and the first half vs. Romo...Our Defense was lost...Those 2 completed almost 90% of their Passes in that span...Romo was almost perfect...It's Coaching...You'll see soon enough when Edwards is (where he belongs) Coaching LB's for another Team, probably in College, next year... I'm not saying The Bills are not underachieving on Defense based on the talent...Because that's true...I am saying that has a TON to do with Coaching...The same way Fitz and a few guys on Offense overachieved due to Gailey's Play Calling early on...It goes both ways...Gailey gets the most out of talent (well...at times at least he does)...Edwards squanders it...

It's a one word answer for those of you who are wondering... Coaching... Our Defensive Coaching Staff can't game-plan, is predictable, can't develop talent whatsoever, and can't adjust to anything...They've made the likes of Jason Campbell, Mark Sanchez, and Tony Romo look like Montana, Marino, and Johnny U...It's Coaching Folks...And I'm not saying we have great talent...We just have terrible Defensive Coaches...

I don't disagree 100%...But...I know it's just one play, but you can't get any more wide open deep than Jones was when Fitz overthrew him by 5 yards plus last week...That's a Pass a guy making $9 million per year needs to make 99% of the time...So granted the Bills need a better WR option opposite Stevie...But it's not all the WR's either...Fitz has made some pretty crappy throws at times as well...

I'd be REAL shocked, and to be honest scared if he was based on what I've seen so far...That Kid is no where near ready to be an NFL Starting CB...Then he misses all this time to boot...When he was in there he might as well have had a target painted on him, because opposing QB were going right after him...And he did not respond well at all...I thought he looked terrible in pre-season outside of the one nice play he made on the INT...Other than that play he was consistently a step or two behind...Williams has shown me next to nothing...So acually he fits right in amongst The Bills CB's... But I will say this...A TON of it could be the fact that The Bills Defensive Coaches are terrible and simply have no clue how to put Players in position to succeed...Nor can they develop obvious talent...So when the Bills get a brand new Staff on Defense, which I expect to happen (actually I'm PRAYING it happens)...Maybe Williams will turn out to be all that...We'll see I guess...

At this point I'd settle for just slowing them down every now and again... It's really become brutal!

Right because Whitner has SO much to do with that 7-1 Record... I have to admit he's is better when surrounded by exceptional talent and good Coaching...But saying he suddenly got good because the 49ers are 7-1 is a joke... And Haloti Ngata called...He begs to differ as well...
