I don't think it's a be-all-end-all either... But for the Bills specifically, I think we have enough guys with decent to average speed. I'm looking for some juice...

If they don't run fast... I'll pass...

NFL will make all games available on stream in 2025.
KOKBILLS replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's 2025 and I still cannot simply purchase only the Bills games. I'm even OK with having to to buy YouTube TV... But the entire Package is ridiculous when I basically only watch the Bills and the Nationally televised stuff... 2025... -
He's going to be a tough one... He'll probably run low 4.4's and make it even tougher... As a WR he's got all the raw tools, but to say he was not used as a boundary guy in College is an understatement for sure. I think he made big time strides as as WR though in 2024. Just his confidence in plucking the ball... And he does give you ALL the other stuff... I don't think he's going to be a 3-cone killer type. But he did play a lot of RB, so maybe he'll surprise there. He is very tall, but he's got kind of a weird build to him. My philosophy in this Draft for the Bills is just give me the explosive athlete types that can play because we lack those kind of guys on both sides. And Williams fits that. But in reality we really only have one WR position only, and I see that as a field-stretcher-first kind of WR. I think he's fully capable of that. Especially if he's as fast as some people say he is at that size. But there's not much of that on his film besides him running past slower LB's for easy wide-open TD's... It's tough. I definitely see Williams as a 2nd Round prospect. Pre Combine I have him at #56 Overall because I think if he goes to the right team, like San Fran, he's going to be a serious weapon. It depends on who else is around and where. I will say that due to all of the above I'm a little higher on Jalen Royals. And definitely higher on Matthew Golden. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.

The DB thing I disagree with a bit... Even if Hunter is 100% a WR, and Revel and Morrison are not ready with the injuries I still have Will Johnson, Jahdae Barron, Malaki Starks, Nick Emmanwori, Darian Porter (I'm higher on him than most), Azareye'h Thomas, and Xavier Watts in my Top 64 before the Combine. I did not see the Safety comments... Are they saying Emmanwori is similar to Starks and Watts? He's not... There are a couple other DB's like Tre Amos and Andrew Makuba who could move into the 2nd Round with great workouts. I think we definitely need one more WR and personally I'd rather get one in the Draft because there are a few I really like for the Bills...in different ways (just looking for explosive play-makers).... that we should have a shot at... Namely Matthew Golden, Jaylen Royals, Isaiah Bond, and Savion Williams. Drafted WR's are cost controlled too. And if it's still everyone-eats we just need another weapon. We don't necessarily need a #1. But a guy like Golden or Royals that have that kind of long-term upside won't hurt one bit. 😎

I already forgot what you wrote... 😁

There were things I saw on the field in those last few games that I just assumed all Bills fans saw. It's no use getting into it now. But suffice it to say that the Bills should expect Keon to battle on the outside consistently. In fact he has to in order to be successful in the NFL. I sensed some frustration, and most definitely a lack of physicality to fight for jump ball position at times that were really frustrating. He's got to be more consistent.

Definitely probable.

It's Revel (assuming the injury checks out), Porter, or Thomas (if he runs well) for me...

It likely won't matter because Grant will go in the top 20. Admittedly I'm a biased Michigan fan, and certainly Grant is not a finished product... But he's a monster in waiting. He can do things at his size not many men in the NFL can. He has the necessary tools to be a disruptive force on Passing Downs. He's shown it plenty. It's on tape. He gets into the backfield with suddenness and that massive frame. Just coach him up... I think there definitely will be teams that have Nolen higher than Grant... Harmon is fine too...

I'd have to see what the deal is... I'm definitely not in the Trade or bust category though I'd be insane to say I would not want a guy like Garrett. I do think the Bills can properly re-build the Defense through Free Agency and the Draft, though my confidence in the decision makers has gone down a little. I feel like there have been some pretty obvious mistakes in personnel, coaching, Draft, and philosophy on that side of the ball... Regardless, for a team that trusts their front office and coaches the Bills are set up very well this off season IMHO... They could kill it with the right moves and that would not require trading anything. They need an off season (not necessarily at the same positions) like 2017 when they added Hyde, Poyer, Tre, Dawkins, Milano, and Z. Jones... Maybe even a little better... But it's not un-doable... It's well within the range of possible.

Allen was included in Wyoming's Hall Of Fame class today!

They should make him King... IMHO... -
I traded down and got the 3rd back... I'm assuming Revel is going to be 100%, and admitting I have no idea right now. I did see a video on FB back in early Jan of him running lightly, and well, on a treadmill... So that pretty much makes me a Doctor now... I would like to see the Bills Draft a healthy Revel...or Darian Porter on Day 2... I want one of those two players. I have my reasons. I think 56 is right where Collins should go and I think that's right where the Bills should take him. One dimensional or not. He has large dimensions. I really like Royals for the Bills. I like everything about that... As a Michigan fan I watched Stewart a ton, he's a weapon as a pass rusher. I can't tell you the amount of times I was impressed by his complete arsenal. I felt like he really put it all together this year. When he is on he has everything as a pass rusher. He's small...but so what? The Bills have to get creative. Lorenzo Alexander was not big. Von Miller is not big. Winston had a crazy low missed tackle rate, he's fast, and I just like Penn St prospects now I guess...I wanted to get depth at CB, LB, OL, Draft a QB only because it's more fun, and get a RB just in case...

Not sure exactly where they take one of them. But I want the Bills to come away with either Shavon Revel Jr (of course assuming the knee checks out. I saw a video of him light running on a treadmill in early Jan, so it looks like he's coming along on schedule), or Darien Porter. I fully admit both come with risk. But they both have massive upside and are plus, plus explosive athletes. Revel is more physical in the run game. He's an animal. But both are big cover CB's with great recovery speed who play physical. Both were impact ST's players. Either one... Get it done Beane...

Well said... BBB is a solid B basically... But sometimes to get over the hump you need and A...

Free Agents we like for the 2025 Bills?
KOKBILLS replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not that this is a big deal... But I think they'll try to bring in a lower-mid tier Vet CB like Mike Hughes or Kristian Fulton. -
I mean... I hope you're right...
-
No I said he said that... I was making the point that even a Bills fan did not remember we had JUST drafted Dwayne Carter last year... Dude... You wanna play who knows the Bills more with me?

Defensive Tackle: Is it the Players or the System?
KOKBILLS replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it's both tbh... -
I'm well aware... The point is Carter made zero impact...

The crazy thing for me is the way they handled Bishop based on what at least I saw of him as an actual on-the-field prospect. It seemed like the square peg in the round hole kind of thing. While Bishop has the physical traits of a centerfield-type of FS that can move all over, he just does not shine in that role, and his College analytics really backed that up. If you're looking for more of a traditional SS-type...in the box... that's where Bishop really played well in College. So every time I saw him dropping deep and someone running by him I felt like...well...could have seen that coming. Like I remember distinctly hearing Draft guys saying... if you Draft Cole Bishop to be a FS, or to play mostly in a 2-deep zone you are going to be disappointed. That's not to say he won't improve and grow into the role. He was just a rookie. He seems smart and he does have a lot of God-given ability. But I feel like based on what they asked him to do in 2024... He was set up for failure from the get-go...

I just want to point this Carter pick out because it's at the core of the frustration I have with BBB... And don't get me wrong... I do think he's a good GM... But it's picks like that Dwayne Carter one that drive me insane... I was a little blindsided by the Coleman pick last year. I thought the Bills needed that down the field, over-the-top, split the zone kind of buster on the outside, and I did not see Coleman as that guy. But I did understand the need for some of Colemans skill set and my thought was, with all these picks we're going to double up on WR anyway... Well... Imagine my surprise when we get to #95 overall and both Troy Franklin (4.41) and Dez Walker (4.36) are still available. Now before anyone jumps up and says they both did nothing as rookies understand, I'm looking for a 15-20% of the snaps on Offense field stretching WR... That is NOT too much to as for as a rookie. Not to mention they would now have a year in this Offense with Josh under their belt going into 2025, so maybe it's 25-30% of snaps this year. Both are very talented. They have nice upside and SPEED... Instead we Draft the under-sided 3-tech because he's a team Captain and great in the community... OK... Mind you this off season has been wall to wall talk about upgrading our defensive line and you will not hear Carters name mentioned...Not once... In fact I was listening to a Mock Draft pod yesterday, and the guy running it is a Bills fan, and he says "The Bills only have one DT under contract after the 2025 season." I'm like... THAT is how impactful Dwayne Carter was as a rookie...lol I should also mention the lack of that down the field threat led to the MVS signing which busted pretty quickly... Maybe Carter comes out in 2025 and proves me wrong...sets the world on fire... We'll see... But that pick is driving me nuts... It has since last April... I really wanted us to double dip at WR there... Anyway...
