Bills talking extension with McGee
nick in* england replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor...d=2108479&num=5 Thanks Mods for joining - I didn't see it was already posted. -
I think if you look at our RB pool right now - albeit some will be cut - the guys who will make it to the 53 will be Wills, Reshard Lee, Shaud Williams and Lionel Gates (also Shelton and maybe Burns). I think that's a pretty decent pool of backs to ride for a good part of the season... We don't need two #1 RBs thats why we have dealt Travis... We need a starter, a backup and a couple of guys that can play STs and maybe rip off a few runs per game when needed. If Willis goes down we take the three guys left and figure which one doesn't LOSE us games and go with him... (PS My remarks here prove why I am a fan and not a coach)

Well - I figure it won't happen this morning, so factor in Lunch (so say 2pm earliest). But they won;t want to let it slide too late so as to give TV a good time to put a package together and get interviews and enough time for the Tenn and Buff newspapers put together big editorials about it... So I figure 3pm is when they will do it... ************** Agreed - if we sign Verba - I think the additions and subractions we made this offseason add up to the Playoffs.

What Position in What Sport

Seriously - it's the "Pro" poker players. They call that crap sports. They barely burn a calorie flipping cards and looking placid. I bet they could actually GAIN WEIGHT by playing poker it's such a lethargic 'sport'. AND the guy who won WSOP netted $7m Dollars for less than 7 days work. THAT's got to be our winner. -
Whatever the papers and the Titans are saying I think you can put this one down as done. There will be some minor details - but I think you'll see by 3pm today that it's a #3 to Buffalo and TH to Tennessee.
-
Don't get me started - you guys can't even spell correctly with the Mother Tongue...

from the Nashville City Paper: OK - so where was this mentality in Buffalo? When we drafted Willis did Travis say "this is good news because it will make me better"? Nope - he bitched and moaned and quit on the team. Travis said publicly he wants to leave Buffalo because the coaches deemed that he wouldn't be number one - but why didn't he just say 'it's cool - I know my role". What a two-faces, selfish prick. A word to Tennessee: make Travis your starter or be prepared for some seious bitchin'

Poker players.... -
I'm bummed that I can't get in on the Backer packages... I've made a few enquiries with the Bills to see if they will do a 'special' package for me cos I am coming from so far... We'll see... Would be awesome to meet Thurman though. A friend of mine over here has and he said he was a good guy with plenty of time for the fans.

To our London Members....Queen in Hyde Park today
nick in* england replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually the only gig I ever went to in Hyde Park was a Bryan Adams show. It sucked ass - the space is too big for the sound to travel properly and the big open space sucks the life out of everyting... -

Mort Says TH Deal Maybe Today
nick in* england replied to nick in* england's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
FWIW I don't necessarily agree that he'd be the clear starter in Tenn. Chris Brown has a shot to out play Travis in camp if he get's healthy in time. It would all depend on Tenn's running game on who get's the start - they being built for a slightly bigger back than Travis. -

And I'll buy him a pint too... Theres now way having waited this long that TD takes anything less than 3 (possibly with conditions) -

Not rose coloured glasses. Travis has his flaws, sure, but he can go in an be a Running Back in the NFL on most teams and have success. He proved that for 2 seasons with us - and I think he has 2 more in him. -

Mort Says TH Deal Maybe Today

I'm sure nobody doubts that TH will play well when he moves on, but he has squealed to high heaven about backing up what the Bill regards as a higher quality RB in WM. So we need to deal him. As for the implication of WM dropping off as 'full time starter' - he basically was annointed the full time starter from week 6 last year and only improved from then on. That's 11 games of being #1 rather than stand-in #1... And to me he has proved his worth. -

Not sure what u mean with the RJ comment - seems irrelevant to me. The details of the deal are not mentioned. -
I'm no great fan of tall girls... Maria's too tall for me.
-
Front page story on TBD has jags issuing a statement to say that are nearing completion of a deal for TH. This is VERY good news. I can;t stand the speculation! What I think this does for the Jags is make them into a seriously competitive team. I'm glad they're not on our schedule.

1. Fair point. But Lee Evans had a great end to the season. Drew looked away from EM long enough to get him 10TDS or so. 2. TE is a weak spot. I suspect MM will have plans to use the more creatively and sparingly early on to help them get back to game speed. Next. 3. Agree. But the potential is there. They really need to do a number on a team early next season to prove they are a great D. 4. Consistancy is key. I see coverage and kicking being fine - but returning needs to be just as good as last year. Let's face it you'll never expect so many run-backs for a score as we got last year, but we have to have a returner that can get us in good position all the time. 5. All this talk about JPL's development is moot until training camp at the earliest. -

You are right. One caveat on JP. I'm rooting for the kid - but MANY reports from college say he tries to force plays and make things happen. IF the coaches can keep that mentality in check we'll be fine as you say. The minute JP starts to show that cockiness that people accuse him of we start to look a lot more shaky. That said - I share your confidence. Playoffs baby!
