  1. I agree Jax. Leodis looks totally lost on the field in coverage. He is an excellent athlete but has no clue on how to play DB at this level. The Bills made a terrible pick here because he did not play against top receivers at Troy. Florence is a much better football player.
  2. Dick is FIRED!! Should not even be allowed back on the plane.
  3. What are you talking about? He is a coward on the football field. Plain and simple. He has no moxie to lead this team anywhere. He played OK in the NE game. But when it was time to step up in the last 51 seconds, he could not get it done. Sure there was some rush, but after hitting TO for 20 yards he froze. On the second play when stepping up in the pocket, he hesitated slightly and got hit. That was pretty much the game. He does not dictate the game from his position. That is called presence. He does not have it. He plays scared. He is no better than JP. For the life of me, after his pathetic performance against the Steelers in the preseason, why was he even allowed to start? He has no body of work that says "I am a starter." On many teams in the NFL, he would NOT have been named the starter by the way he played in the preseason. But not on the Bills. DJ loves him for no apparent reason, because he will not think the game by himself. He just takes orders. God he is WEAK!!!
  4. Very good analysis. I totally agree with you about Trent. Plays like a robot. Looks constantly tentative and never real comfortable. He is not starter material in the NFL. JP was not starter material, Bledsoe was washed up, and so was Holcomb. And RJ was not even backup material. God, our front office has no clue on what a QB should be able to do. Also agree about TO. Looks to be going thru the motions. His heart does not look into it. He and the Bills do not seem to be a good fit. Do TE and TO ever talk? Does Trent ever talk with any of his receivers? Very dysfunctional offense. Lose to Miami and the bottom falls out. We get embarrased and Dick is gone, hello April fools. Hello Fitzie.
  5. Why does TE always say that he is not prepared? The guy plays QB in the NFL. He is supposed to be a good player to be one of 32 starters at his position. He should be able to adapt to whatever is being thrown at him. His job is to throw the ball DOWN the FIELD to his receivers that are at least partially open. When you guys played sandlot ball as a kid didn't you always throw medium to deep passes? Who the heck wants to dump it off? I know I would always go down the field. He way overthinks everything. He needs to go out on the field and say to himself. I don't care what they are throwing at me, my receivers and I can beat anything. This guy is a robot who has no feel for the position. I can see him getting just creamed by the Fish, and than we will have a guy with not the most talent, but a whole lot more feel for the position playing. I blame management for taking TE to begin with. What the hell did he ever show to impress us so much to take him? I blame Jauron for keeping him as our starter this year when he has actually regressed. He looks like he doesn't even want to play. Why has there been no competition for the starting QB job? Just pathetic
  6. For the life of me, why did we go with 2 receivers and 2 tight ends almost the entire game against the Saints? We have an excellent slot man in Josh Reed, and we are not even dressing Steve Johnson. The entire offensive scheme is archaic and useless. Derek Fine never runs a pattern over 5 yards from the line of scrimmage, and Lee Evans is being thrown to at less than 10 yards as well. We should be running 4 receivers at 15- 25 yards down the field with Freddy as a dump off screen guy if nothing is open deep. We need to start stretching the field vertically like just about every other team. With the scheme we are running, we are putting no pressure on the defense, and they can load up to blitz as the Saints did. Rush at least six on every play and use two corners and two safety's to cover Lee and TO. And put anyone on Fine, who will probably drop the ball anyways. Jauron and his offensive coaches are just not installing a modern gameplan. The fact that we have not had a 300 yard passer in 39 games is absolutely mindboggling. And goes hand in hand with our horrible record against teams with winning records. DJ should be fired on this stat alone. Until we can find a vertical passing game (with a QB and offensive coaches who want one) this team will lose many more than they win. Noone wins consistently with a grind it out game anymore. Sure you need to be able to run some. (Giants in 2007) But you had better be able to throw it down the field. And we can not and do not try to do that. I believe at least Fitzpatrick would attempt to throw down the field. Here's to hoping he is starting much sooner than later.
  7. I agree. I don't think we can score a TD against Miami's defense the way we are scared to throw down the field. I went to the Miami-Atlanta game and the fins D was tough accept they had noone to cover Gonzalez. We don't have a guy like Gonzalez, so how do we win any matchups? And our D will probably wilt in the heat, with Bryan Scott missing one of his tackles on a TE late in the game.
  8. These two stats tell it all about how bad this team has been and continues to be under Dick Jauron. The look on his face at the end of yesterday's game said it all. He looked like he knew he was about to get canned. We can only hope. Why not fire him today? Does anybody really think we can turn this around with DJ? He has had over three seasons. We played about as bad an offensive game as you can play at home against a mediocre defense. Miami's defense is going to be all over us next week. I could see TE going down very hard. At least than we get Fitzpatrick who could possibly give us a spark.
  9. Gruden was raving about the Bills on Monday nite. He is all ego and would love nothing more than to be the savior for this win starved city. He knows how much we love the Bills. This team would change completely if he took over. Wow, I just get excited thinking about it!!
  10. Did you watch Payton Manning last nite? He goes back and bang, he releases the ball. Trent holds the ball wayyyy too long, good doctor. To not put a majority of the blame on him for the loss is just wrong. Again, as I have said several times today. He has no feel for the game around him.
  11. Trent is just awful. The Saints were ripe to be beaten. Our defense completely took away their passing attack. To not get TO at least ONE catch is a crime. As a QB you are not going to have a lot of time every game. Sometimes you have to get out of trouble and make a play. Everytime Trent rolls to his right, he never can get the ball down the field. He looks to the Tight end dump off who is ALWAYS running parallel to the line of scrimmage. The offense should be ashamed. This team will be lucky to get back to seven wins. No improvement from last year on offense. I would start Fitzpatrick next week. He at least has a feel for the position. I don't think Trent has a clue.
  12. Nick Harris should be starting over Ellison because Ellison is way too short to play OLB. Ben Watson just ate him up as did all of the NE receivers. Ellison is stout against the run, but BLOWS in pass coverage.
  13. Donte Whitner is terrible. In fact both he and Scott can not cover anybody over the deep middle. On the touchdown with two minutes left both safety's never even moved. They are worthless in coverage. Then on the winning touchdown, Keith Ellison was no match for Watson. He is just too small to cover him. But of course there was no safety help. I thought the team was prepared to play and the coaching was solid. The Bills problem is we are very weak at LB and Safety. We have been for years. Hopefully Nick Harris and Jarius Byrd will be an improvement eventually. But Mitchell, Ellison, Scott and Whitner should not be starting against teams that pass the ball all the time. They are just not athletic enough to make plays. And for Whitner to have been picked 8th with his very marginal athleticism is a joke.
  14. Jokeman that is ridiculous. Did you watch Rhodes play against Detroit or in the other preseason games? He is SLOW!!! He has absolutely no burst, and he can not pick up the blitz. To me he looked pretty soft and lackadaisical on the field. I think Oman and McIntyre give us a whole lot more at the position than Rhodes. As for Walker, the guy is marginal at best. He has no foot speed to play LT and did not dominate at RT. Why everyone is so up in arms about getting rid of an average Olineman at best is just plain stupid. The negativity towards the Bills is just unbelievable. We haven't played a game yet and the majority of you just HATE this team beyond reason. I for one am just happy that the NFL season is upon us. We have a LOT of great offensive players and a defense that looks to be quite solid. If our QB can become a man and step up like an NFL team should, than this team will be very good. Most of you just seem so miserable. If you are that bumbed out by getting rid of Rhodes, Schonert and Walker go root for another team.
  15. That should happen pretty quick as Fine and /or Schouman NEVER can stay healthy. Look at their three total seasons between them. Have they ever been healthy at the same time? How much you want to bet that Fine is not practicing this week and is at least inactive for the opener? We could have 6 or 7 TE's playing by the end of the season. And probably like 14 DB's.
  16. I would cut Donte Whitner. He makes absolutely no plays. It is mind boggling how we could have taken such a mediocre player with the 8th pick who is also very marginal athletically as well. He plays WAY too far from the line of scrimmage and can not close on the ball quickly. The Steelers last week hit several 15-20 yard passes over the middle because Whitner was not closing fast on the receiver. I don't think he would start on most teams. But looking at our safeties, they really are not very stellar in the least. I hope that Byrd can really step up and play. I would also cut Schouman and play Stupar and Nelson as our top two TE's. Has anyone else noticed that Schouman and Fine have been consistently injured since entering the league? What is wrong with them? They are always HURT. We have some top end talent at skill positions, but our second tier guys are pretty marginal when you look across the board. We need so much more production from safety and tight end. Hopefully, Byrd is a much better Whitner.
  17. Andre Reed BLOWS Tim Brown away my friend. Not even in the same league. On the toughness scale Andre was a 10, and TB a 2.
  18. From JW's article I think we can all agree that Maybin will not be signed before the Packer's game on Sat. nite. If our DE's such as Ellis and Bryan continue their strong play, than Maybin's position starts to look very tenuous. If he is not in before the Pittsburg game, and talks are still where they are now, we could have a very interesting mess on our hands. I don't see Russ Brandon as a guy who is going to overpay for someone of Maybin's worth. The Bills did not give in to Jason Peters, and they certainly will not give in to Aaron Maybin. We may not be great at picking talent, but our front office does not get pushed around. I think it is not beyond the realm of possibility that all three holdouts may not sign with the teams they were drafted by. If we have a good team without Maybin, does anyone really care if we ever sign him? What about trading his rights for Andre Smith's rights? That would be quite a scenario. Could it happen?
  19. If Maybin's agent is waiting for Crabtree to sign. What happens if Crabtree does not sign? Does that mean that Maybin does not sign either? This is pretty absurd that a guy who has had one good year in college is not signed three and a half weeks into training camp. Do some of you get the feeling that he will never where a Bills uniform? And I am being serious. Maybe the team is pleasantly surprised with Chris Ellis and Copeland Bryan and have basically said this is what we are offering, take it or you can sit the year out? I would really like to hear what Russ Brandon has to say about what the Bills position is. I think as fans we deserve to know where things stand.
  20. I sure hope he is better than that. Jabari was OK, but definitely did not dominate games most of the time.
  21. You're a douche!!!
  22. And if Owens is our best receiver this year, why for the love of God would we not resign him to a 2 or 3 year contract after the season is over? I would be perfectly fine with him finishing his career right here in Buffalo. And by the way Hardy looked awful last year. He has absolutely no idea of how to play receiver in the pro game. He may become something in the future, but geese you wonder how he could be so raw. And it does get annoying to read posts from people like yourself who think they know everything about the game of football. Just because another fan wants a guy cut who did absolutely nothing for us, you shouldn't become all high and mighty Mr. Freak. And to say that Hardy will be good enough to take over for Owens next year could be the reach of the century. But only time will tell.
  23. Your analysis of the Peters situation misses one major premise. Peters was ridiculously overrated in his ability and his desire to be great. He just has a great desire to be overpaid. And he has succeeded in that. He had absolutely no upside from his 2007 season which was very good, but not spectacular. Last year he was mediocre AT BEST. There was no way the Bills were going to pay Jason Peters huge money unless he came to all the offseason camps, busted his butt and played like an All Pro this season. If he had a huge year in 2009, you can be sure they would have extended him bigtime after this season. But I am sure they had a feeling that Peters was not that type of player who burned to be the best. And they made a smart decision to trade him for the best deal possible. I think they handled this perfectly. Do you really think that the Pats or the Steelers would have given Peters a huge extension with three years left on his contract if he had missed all of the 2008 offseason and shown up right before the start of the season? He would never have played another down for a Belichik or Tomlin coached team. It is soooo easy to get down on the Bills because there record on the field has been miserable this past decade. But Peters is a fat, lazy head case. The Eagles are already finding that out.
  24. Wow, did you expect us to be the Steelers from the 1970's out there last nite or what? Whether it is your first team, second team, or scrubbs, don't you want to see winning football? The Bills were the better team last nite against Chicago. Coach Jauron had them ready to play which is a positive. Making plays on the field regardless of who it is, is what is important. It builds confidence within the team, and that is contagious. Tell me you weren't happy to see Copeland Bryan and Chris Ellis make plays. These guys will hopefully continue to improve and get chances to play during the season. We haven't made the playoffs in 10 years, so any solid performance (even in the preseason) especially after the dog effort last week is very encouraging.
