I know Tua went top 5. But Fromm was way underdrafted as a 5th rounder. Both guys played in the SEC. And both played well. The Alabama hype machine is omnipresent throughout the football world. And the Alabama program does not even self promote. The NFL and the media think that Alabama football players walk on water. I live in the heart of Dixie. Have watched SEC football for many years. And CBS and ESPN LOVE Alabama and LSU. Did you know that the Georgia Bulldogs also play in the SEC? And they have a dam good program as well? (I don't love them, my team is Michigan) I am just saying that Jake Fromm is much better then most of the Bills fan and the local media are giving him credit for. He will show that soon enuf.

Him and your boy Dak. Right?? Who has won nothing. I will take Romo over Dak every day of the week. As for Tua, go back and watch the film of the Alabama-Clemson national championship game. Didn't look so good that nite. Settle down about the comparisons to Brees.. I would try comparing him a little more to Jake Fromm.

Bills Game by Game Prediction (CBS)

I would take 11-5 and an AFCEast Championship. And we HAVE to win at least one playoff game. Hopefully two. I like our upside this season. -

Why are we losing at Denver and home to the Steelers? These are the type of games that championship teams win fairly easily. -

With all the moves we made and we go 9-7? That is terrible. Losing to SF by 18 and Pittsburgh by 13 at home? That is ridiculous. With this roster we should have a shot at 12-4. I expect a big leap forward from JA this year. I expect the offense to be nite and day from last year. An improved Josh Allen. Stefan Diggs. Zack Moss, and an improved O line. And we will finally have a kicker who can bang them thru w consistency from between 55 and 60. This is our year. 12-4 and playing in the AFC Championship at a minimum. -
Forget about the fact for a minute that Josh Allen has more upside then Dak Prescott to be an absolutely great NFL Quarterback. (not saying Josh will, but he has that potential which hopefully will be realized over the next two years) But Josh Allen is way more the leader then Dak will ever be. And he is much tougher as well. The 4th and 1 that Josh made against the Cowboys was one for the ages fellas. And did anyone watch that video from 5-6 years ago of Dak getting his ass kicked in Panama City Beach, Florida by some thugs on Spring Break? You think Josh Allen is getting his ass kicked by anyone? Don't think so. Dak is a momma's boy baby B word when it comes down to it. There you go. From the mouth of Paup. Over and out. Have a good Sunday to all you Bills fans. Stay safe in these very combustible times. And God Bless America to stay strong and unite as one people again..

You think its just all about the money? You don't think anyone plays for the love of the game anymore? The competitiveness? Being a warrior? Sure everyone wants to make a good living. But these guys will still be relatively young when they are done playing. And can actually go do something else. By your user name, you must be pretty young. Do you think a guy like Chris Spielman played football solely for the money? Do you think the great Edmonton Oiler teams of the 80's played for the money? They played because they loved hockey and playing the game they love for the best team in the world. When you are in your 20's and early 30's, I could not think of anything better to be doing w one's life. Ya Digg? LOL

The Ravens are a great organization. They draft well. The win most seasons. They are well run. The organization has a lot of pride and good history. It would not have looked good for Judon to try and stick it to the Ravens. I think there is a strong sense of loyalty in that franchise amongst the players between themselves, to John Harbaugh and to management. And visa versa. Sure its a business and each player wants to do well for themselves. But I think on some franchises, like Baltimore and maybe Kansas City w Andy Reid, among others, the players think beyond the money. And I am sure Judon would rather take a little less playing for the Ravens then playing for say the Jags or Lions. Teams like the Seahawks and Packers come to mind like that as well. And besides, I don't think guys like Ray Lewis Ed Reed and Jonathan Ogden would be very happy with Raven players being disrespectful about the franchise. I would hope the Bills would get to that level in the not too distant future with continued winning.

Always enjoy your feedback and analysis Gunner. Andrew Whitworth has had a very good career. And he never looks that athletic and powerful. But he gets the job done, is a good leader and is technically very solid. A true professional. I think he will be 38 this season. Jason Peters has had a HOF career. Unfortunately mostly not with the Buffalo Bills. But those things happen. Tyron Smith is a physical freak for the Cowboys. But he has been injured at times, and still gets beat occasionally. I always liked Matt Light for the Pats during the first decade of Patriot dominance. Was very solid year in and year out. Not HOF level, but very very good. I compare Kyle Williams to that level of play over his career. Right there with Light. And a bit above Whitworth relative to their positions. I want to see Dawkins approach that level. He is not going to be a HOF type player. Just does not have that ability. But if we are going to keep him on a large second contract, he has to take the next step to being very good week in and week out. I hope he becomes that this season.

Enuf about dumping tons of money at Dion Dawkins......just yet. He has not been dominant in the slightest to warrant a big 15+ mill/year deal at this point. I would wait at least thru half the season to see him elevate his game. If he is dominating, then open the vault within reason. If not, try and trade him or let him walk at the end of the season and draft a potential starting LT with our 1st round pick. His game has been below average to above average ever since he came to Buffalo. Championship teams have better starting LT's then what Dawkins has shown so far. Lets hope he elevates his game. He needs a little bit of Feliciano in him. Little bit more nastiness...

ESPN Football Power Index 2020 Season Simulation
Paup 1995MVP replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We are way too low at 10. I put us ahead of the Pats Tampa Philly Dallas for sure. And we are right there with the Seahawks. I am putting us 5th behind KC Baltimore SF and NO. And we will give those teams all they can handle. The league will figure out Lamar Jackson and make him throw a whole lot more. The Bills stuffed the Ravens offense pretty well. Teams will follow that blueprint. They will be good, but not as good as this past season. We will be very good. The team should have the mindset that we are going to win the division and be playing in the Super Bowl next February. No more of this crap offense we have had for what seems like forever. Everyone is exited about Josh Allen. Well we haven't scored much since he took over. This is the year!! Time we show some swag. Let the NFL know we have arrived. Josh Norman will give us a little edge too. It is going to be exciting. Nothing less than 11-5 will do. -
The Draft is a total crap shoot...
Paup 1995MVP replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We have a very talented roster. Have brought in lots of solid to good to very good players thru trades free agency and the draft. And that includes the O line. (I think they will be solid across the board regardless of who starts at the positions in question) But the key is going to be Josh Allen. If he is mediocre like he has mostly been so far in his career (with some real brite spots, and some real poor performances) we will struggle to make the playoffs and not be a contender. If he plays good to very good all season, we should contend for the Super Bowl. -
Wow, why all the negativity on Kyle Orton? He led a tremendous last second drive to a big victory at the time and you have to bash him?! He was money on every throw on that drive except for the one behind Sammy. The offensive line around him was lousy. #68 Richardson had no business being on an NFL field. Was Kyle Orton a stud QB? No he wasn't. But he played pretty well for a lot of that 2014 season. And was awesome on that last drive. So give him some props where they are due and leave it at that. Dam life is tough enuf. You have to find joy in something. Watching that drive certainly put a smile on my face and a bounce in my step, at least for the moment.

Dallas 175 million 5 year offer to Prescott
Paup 1995MVP replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed that the Cowboys were not well coached. And Jason Garrett was weak. But its also on the QB. He is the leader of the offense and the offense did not get it done in many of their losses. Look at the losses against Buffalo Jets Philly (away) Saints and Pats. Their offense was lousy. Not a lot better against Minnesota or Chicago either. A lot of that is on the QB. You can drive your narrative however you want to spin it. I did not say the guy sucks. My point is that way too much hype is made about an above avg QB (at best) who wilts under pressure. And I believe the contract offer is on the high end of reasonable anyways. And when your QB is balking at signing it, it shows that he is not about the team. Because the more he wants, the less there is available to pay other positions. And when you are paying Zeke Cooper and Prescott, you are going to come up short in other places. Jerry Jones wants star power as much as wins. That is the Cowboy way. A lot of flash, and not much more. -

Kirby (btw a very good and underrated DB for the Bills back in the 90's) Go look at who the Cowboys beat big last season and then get back to me on their point differential.. They did very well against the trash of the NFL last year. The good teams, not so much. Dak is overrated! -

Interesting idea the Boys signing Cam. That would be exciting. Not a huge Cam fan. But he does have way more swag and passion then Prescott. I think a lot of what has been missing from the Cowboys has been the passion. And I blame that on Jason Garrett and Dak Prescott. Need some fire to motivate and inspire. Maybe Mike McCarthy will do that. Will be very interesting to see what he brings to the Cowboys. At least he won't be stuffed in that green jacket that he always seemed to wear in GB. LOL -

How much better are the Cowboys with Dak Prescott at QB then they are with Andy Dalton? Prescott doesn't sign the deal, pull it off the table, and trade him, and let Dalton be your starter this year. He plays well, sign him for 2-3 more years. He plays lousy, (which he never has) draft or sign someone else next year. Thats a big contract for a good but certainly not great QB. (Prescott) Good defenses will stymie him all day long. -

Dak is a P***y. Plays with no passion. He is soft. Not a leader. Cowboys should have let him walk. How many playoff games has he won? He is the ESPN and Dallas Cowboys hype machine. And nothing more. That pass he threw on 4th and goal into the ground against us was pathetic. -
2020 Josh Allen Prop bets with ProFootballTalk
Paup 1995MVP replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like both overs. What are the odds on both of those? I think he may go over on rushing yards as well. Would like to see it. But he needs to be smart when he runs, and tuck the ball away!! Simms is a big Josh Allen fan. Didn't he get arrested driving high w his pregnant wife in the car years ago? Oh to be young dumb and full of *****. lol My son got pretty good odds on Josh Allen winning the NFL MVP I seem to recall. I will have to find out from him what the line was for that. -

Is that just passing TD's or total TD's? The first two o/u's are pretty insulting to Josh Allen and the Bills offense. If he can't throw at least in the high 3,000's for yards and in the high 20's for passing TD's we have a big problem, unless our running game is circa late 1970's Houston Oilers. And that seems doubtful in today's NFL. -
Funny you talk about sitting in the Oranges too. I came from modest means. So that was all we could afford I guess. I remember always wondering what it would be like to sit down in the Golds or Reds. So I had a buddy whose parents were a bit more well off then my family. And his parents had seasons tickets for the Sabres. And they were in the Upper Golds kind of to the side of one of the goals. So my buddy takes me to a couple of games. First pro hockey games. I am like 11 or 12 years old in probably 77-78 season. The first game I think was against the Cleveland Barons. (Remember them. They probably lasted 2 or 3 seasons) Sabres scored 3 goals in under a minute or so to set a team record at the time. Not sure if it still stands. The second game I went to was against Vancouver. Danny Gare scores 11 seconds into the game. At the time the fastest goal scored by a Sabre at the start of a game. Don't know if it still stands. Probably since we don't score much at all in this era. I was a huge Sabre fan as a kid. I remember Paul Weiland and Rick Jeanerette on International Cable Channel 10. And Ted Darling and Pat Hannigan (I think that was his name) on Channel 2 I believe. And then Sam Anson did the games on the radio, and was excellent. Fond memories of a lifetime ago. As a middle aged adult, I am not a pro basketball fan. I like hockey some. But don't watch the Sabres. They are terrible. Rooted for the Blues in last years playoffs. I just watched a show on the 94 Rangers winning the Cup and all their long suffering fans on NHL Network. But I love the Bills. Always have since the 1976 season. Have not missed a game on TV since the meaningless season finale of the 94 season. Hopefully this is our year to catch the magic like the 94 Rangers and take it straight to the Super Bowl. Josh Allen will need to be very good. But I believe he has it in him. Go Bills.

I do remember Randy Smith. He was excellent also. They also had Ernie Digregorio and Garfield Heard. Used to go to the games at the Aud as a kid sitting way up in the nosebleed Oranges. McAdoo was as pure a shooter as they came in the history of the NBA. And loved his side burns too. Is he still alive by chance? McAdoo and the Iceman George Gervin from the Spurs. Two amazing offensive players in any era. I was actually not at that game against Denver. But did watch it from my apartment at the time in Atlanta, going nuts!! And thanks for the Kudos about Bryce. He was a hell of a player as well. I still wear his jersey occasionally, probably a couple times a season. Bought it in 1996.

There you go. Almost brings me chills. I think they should have Brent do Monday Nite Football with Louis Riddick and Kurt Warner as analysts. He is still excellent broadcasting in his unique way. I hated Joe Tessitore. My God I found him annoying. Tries to make every game the Super Bowl. Just give basic play by play and let the game speak for itself.
