  1. What team doesn't put their hopes on a great QB to carry it all? Teams just aren't built around dominating defense like the 85 Bears, the 2000 Ravens or the 2002 Buccaneers. (maybe the WFT/Redskins are trying to be that. But their defense was overrated last year. Their schedule was garbage, because their division was pretty much garbage. And they still only finished 7-9) We will be just fine with a great offense and a solid defense, and very good special teams.
  2. Agreed. He was a poor man's Richard Sherman at best. Guy could not tackle to save his life. Someone will overpay him, and he will done within 2 years.
  3. Great points DCofNC. I hate handing off when Josh Allen is in shotgun. The RB is standing still and has no momentum heading towards the line of scrimmage. And it just seems to take a long time for the play to develop to the point where there are just too many big bodies in front of our RB's clogging all the running lanes. I like the idea of having our guards and center pull leading the way for a sweep or pitch out. Regardless the scheme will need to be tweaked some to get a more consistent running game.
  4. Those were great hilites. Miller looked real fast that day. I wish Singletary and Moss had that type of burst. Maybe Breida will bring that for us this year. Brookshier and Summerall were quite the TV announcing pair. I used to watch them on the weekly hilite show called This week in Pro Football starting in the mid 70's. Loved the hilites w the 70's music. Awesome.
  5. Drafting Doyle on top of Spencer Brown was just stupid. He isn't making the final roster. I hope we can find room for Stevenson and Zimmer. Tyrell A may push Tryel D off the roster as well.
  6. Cam would not make many NFL rosters, even as a back up at this point. The guy has fallen off a cliff.
  7. Belichik will trade him to the Jaguars. That should soot that overrated turd. Just like they did with Jamie Collins some years back. Shipped him to Cleveland right around the time they went winless. Patriots don't play w that holdout stuff. During the Belichik era, team means everything unless your name is Brady or Gronkowski. The rest are just pieces on a chessboard. Well paid pieces. But noone is going to lose sleep in Foxboro if Gilmore holds out.
  8. Lets start by getting rid of Addison, who was lousy last year. And maybe Hughes as well. (For whatever reason people on this message board think any Buffalo Bill who has started for us for more then one season should be on the wall or being given consideration for the HOF) Hughes has had a nice career. But he has not been Bruce Smith 2.0 like so many people on here seem to think. So sure I would love to have Danielle Hunter. But unless we get rid of Hughes and Addison's contracts, don't see it happening.
  9. Do TE's even block much anymore? Guys like Lee Smith are dinosaurs in today's game. TE's are about getting down the seam and making big chunk plays. At least they are on most teams not named the Buffalo Bills.
  10. Wow the cynicism on this message board is ridiculous. New player coming off a real strong season w the Texans is starting out well for us in OTA's. And most of you have to rip him and the title of the post?? Good grief. Be happy about any positive news from the Bills. This guy maybe a stud and hopefully can teach our overrated MLB something about playing good football. Are other NFL message boards like this? Because between the censorship and the BS cynicism and overall lack of football intellect from a lot of you, it is really hard to read for more then a few minutes on here at any one time. (I will give Kudos to the few on here who post clips from Bills teams and games of the past like the Bills v Broncos and Raiders from 1990. And the Jeff Kaye 1973 narration of the opening of Rich Stadium video. That is some good stuff!!) But dam has this place gone down hill since I came on board back in 2007 talking about my boy Willis McGhahee and his trade to the Ravens. Wow the cynicism on this message board is ridiculous. 11. Absolutely. Hands down. That drive was amazing starting from our own 4 yard line. And in a tight playoff game to boot.. Josh was perfect on that drive. Its the stuff that legends are made from. And big time kudos to Gabriel Davis for making those two tip toe catches on the sidelines. (both clearly in bounds) Only thing better would have been if it was at the end of the game to win it!!
  12. Noone runs "at will" in today's NFL. Even the Titans. The ability of Josh Allen as a passer runner and leader makes up for most of those deficiencies. The defense will need to bump it up a couple notches this season. If they do that, we are a serious contender to take it all.
  13. I didn't look at the list yet. But where is Cole Beasley? He played top 50 (or at least close to it last year). I would have put Tre a little higher then 78. I think he had more big plays in 2019 though.
  14. He is definitely a top 10 player in the NFL. And I would put Diggs top 20 easily. And the way Beasley played last year. He should be top 50. Tre White needs to be in the top 50 also. Lets go Buffalo. This is OUR year baby!!
  15. Agree 100 DaBillsFan1973. (1973-The 1st year at Rich Stadium-how awesome was that!!) Julio has been injured for what seems like the last 5 years playing indoors in the comfy confines of the Georgia Dome and Mercedes Benz stadium. Playing outside in the Northeast come November and December, and his hamstrings will tighten up like guitar strings. He will be lucky if he can walk by seasons end playing a bunch of games in the cold and dampness of the North!
  16. Great analysis MJT. I watched a lot of Joe Montana games growing up. And he was always so calm, so in control of things on the field, so accurate, and so clutch in crunch time. The "Catch" thrown to Dwight Clark in the back of the endzone in the 1982 NFC Championship game (after the 1981 season) was tremendous. As was the drive to win the 1989 Super Bowl (after the 1988 season) against the Bengals. But how about the comeback against the Saints in 1980 down 35-7 going into the 2nd half and then winning in OT? Or the win down 11 pts at Philly in 1989 throwing for 4 TD's in the 4th qtr?! Joe was amazing. As for Kelly vs Marino. I think Dan Marino was the best passer of the football that ever played the game. His release was ridiculous. That being said, Jim Kelly was a war horse, a great leader and had a dam good arm himself. He was a great Quarterback. As tough as any to play the position!! And one thing that gets overlooked today when comparing QB's of one era from another is the physicality of the game from back in the day to now. Toughness is not a major quality of a QB that anyone talks about anymore because in today's game you can not physically beat the crap out of the QB. Everyone is so impressed by the numbers QB's put up today. And that's great. But lets see them do that getting hit under the chin with a big DT's helmet every single game all game long. Its almost 2 hand touch on the QB in today's game. For all you youngsters, go back and look at the Giants-49ers divisional playoff game in 1986. Look at the hit to the chin that Jim Burt put on Joe Montana. In today's game Burt may have been suspended for a month. There was not even a penalty flag thrown. But one thing about Josh Allen. He is one tough dude. He definitely could have played and played well back in the day!! I watched the 1st half of the Bills-Colts playoff game last nite. Josh was making plays with his legs and his arm all over the place! The man is AWESOME!! Go Bills.
  17. Ian Eagle is good also. Him and CD are a good combo-feed off each other well. I was surprised that CBS let Gus go too. Maybe he can do NFL games for Fox. He just sets the stage with such anticipation and excitement that you feel like you are watching a special event. Even if its say Purdue vs Michigan State in the Big 10 which Fox covers a lot of. I remember how he used to say Willllis McGhahhhheeee when he carried the rock. It was memorable. I still walk around saying that sometimes. And the State Farm commercials where he is eating Sushi rolls out of a vending machine are pretty funny in a silly stupid way also.
  18. Charles Davis is a great analyst. Him and Gus Johnson are my favorites, with some Kevin Harlan close behind.
  19. Yes, ESPN college football has been awesome for decades. I remember watching Ron Franklin and Mike Godfried doing Saturday Nite Football in the mid 80's in college. Great stuff. The anchors back in the day were tremendous. Olberman and Patrick. The late Tom Mees. Mike Ley. And remember the show w Roy Firestone years ago? Tremendous stuff. I remember an interview w Lyle Alzado about steroids before he died back in about 1991. Now its a rag promoting a bunch of nonsense that has nothing to do w Sports.
  20. Please don't mention Devin Singletary and Terrell Davis in the same breath. There is no comparison other then they both are black. Have two legs two arms and one head. Davis had an amazing run from 95-98. He also had a great run blocking O line. But there is no comparison in their abilities. As I always say about Tremaine Edmunds. Lets hope there is significant improvement this upcoming season. Go Bills!!
  21. I agree about Breida. He can run. And he is from Georgia Southern. And they know how to run the football, even in this pass happy era. Lets hope the Bills don't put him in football purgatory like they did w TJ Yeldon, who was severely misused by the Bills coaching staff. Did not understand that decision one bit!
  22. Dam straight Doc. What is there to get excited about in baseball?? I watched Moneyball the other nite. I was more excited and interested watching the story of the 2002 Oakland A's and there 20 game win streak then anything current w baseball. As for the NFL, any game on any week of any season can be super exciting. And when you gamble on it, its even better!!
  23. Thanks Billspro. I really appreciate the well wishes for my son. He had a serious knee injury in the first game of the 2019 season at LSU. But he had surgery w a real good sports medicine ortho in Atlanta, and recovered well. He had a real strong second half of the 2020 season. So hopefully it continues in 2021 and beyond.
  24. Agree with you 100%. Edmunds has been mediocre at best despite what many on this board believe. (I know he made 2 pro bowls. Big deal. Watch the film. The guy has no instincts to play the position and he is not a thumper) Hopefully he gets a whole lot better this year. Beane has done great bringing in Josh Allen Stefan Diggs and Cole Beasley. The rest of his signings have been overall mediocre at best. (Tre White was not his draft pick, nor was Dion Dawkins Matt Milano Micah Hyde or Jordan Poyer) He did a good job cleaning up the salary cap hell we had fallen in w all the dead money. But his evaluation of talent over all has not been extraordinary by any means. Sure there have been some hits like McKenzie, Bass, Daryl Williams and Feliciano. But the guy does not walk on water as seen w the signings of Jefferson Butler Addison last year. And how much we overpaid for Mitch Morse given his performance The AFC will be tougher this year. Hopefully we see improvement from guys like Edmunds Oliver Epenesa and Knox with some strong play from Rouessau and Basham as the season progresses to give us a better team at playoff time.
  25. Agreed Dr Dawk. Jones gets any pressure he is done. If Jarrett Stidham had the receivers at Auburn that Mac Jones had at Alabama he would have put up just as good of numbers. And Stidham can actually scramble some. Jones is in for a rude awakening. That was an arrogant pick by Belichik. The Belichik legend is Tom Brady.... That's quite a QB room that they have now w Jones Stidham and Cam. War Eagle v Roll Tide in New England. LOL
