  1. Trade or cut the guy. He does nothing to impact a game favorably for us. Just watch his play on the field. I think he has zero interceptions in 3+ seasons. Not that interceptions are the only barometer for whether a LB can play or not, but seriously my dead grandmother has better hands. No team hits on every 1st round pick. It just doesn't happen. Why this guy is still starting on our defense is a head scratcher. If we started Dodson Klein or Andre Smith at Edmonds position, I think we get better results.
  2. Thanks for the explanation. Now I understand what all the chatter was about Darryl Johnson. I hope the kid gets a chance to show what he's got in the NFL. It was sarcasm bro. Put Carwell Gardner in your pipe as well.
  3. Thats funny Corta. People seriously went to the airport to greet the team back after a week 2 win?? That's ridiculous.. Was the good humor man or Mr Softee truck there selling ice cream treats too?! Why weren't they watching the Kansas City-Baltimore game that nite anyways? Great game!
  4. He was kicking for the Pack last nite. The MNF crew said he had the longest and the shortest punt in the NFL last year. A 77 yarder. And a 12 yarder. That's probably why he isn't punting for us any longer. Inconsistent.
  5. What the hell did Darryl Johnson ever do as a Buffalo Bill that he had a nickname? The guy was a 7th round draft pick who barely ever played defense for us in his 2 years w the team. What about Jamie Mueller or John Dorenbos? I would argue they contributed more to the well being of the franchise.
  6. You lost me at Edmunds. Not sure he should even be starting on our team ahead of AJ Klein or Dodson or any team in the NFL for that matter. Maybe put him on kickoff coverage since he is pretty fast and can just crash into guys since he sure can't tackle. But as to your original question, Tre White without question. Both our offensive tackles suck so far. I would say Reusseau (how the hell do you spell that name-is he Cajun?) Epenesa and Oliver should all be considered. Our safety's are both very good NFL players. And Dane Jackson will become a topic of discussion in the near future. The guy is a good football player. Just needs the experience of playing in the NFL. Has more upside then Levi Wallace. (Oops I forgot that this is the Levi Wallace fan page.) We are a team of a lot of good NFL players. But not a lot of Superstars. If Josh can take it up to last years level, and the defense keeps playing like it has, we are a strong Super Bowl contender.
  7. Some guys are just good football players, and some guys are not. Edmunds does not have the right body type to play MLB. He is just too long. He can't get any leverage to make tackles. On top of that he doesn't read plays quick enuf. The difference between Milano and Edmunds is big. One is a playmaker, and the other isn't. With Klein or Dodson playing next to Milano, we don't lose much if anything w Edmunds out of the game. I hope the light goes on for him at some point real soon. But I have my doubts. But on a more positive note, you have to love the aggressive game plan the Bills came out with against the Fish today. The Miami offense was totally unprepared for our blitzes w Taron and Hyde on the first series. And it went on the entire game. Coaching was top notch today, as well as the game plan. Kudos to McDermott and company for turning it around.
  8. Exactly!! I was at the game today. The atmosphere was fantastic. The Bills took control on the first series putting Tua in the ground. And were physical all day long. Milano is a beast out there. And the 4th down stop by Dane Jackson. That's was a BIG TIME play baby. Josh is not going to throw for 400 yards and 4 scores every week. He has not been at his best the first two weeks of the season. He did made some plays today, especially in the red zone w his two nice TD passes. But for god's sake we shut out a divisional opponent in their house by 5 TD's. It was a great team effort. The defense is much improved from last year. Playing a way more aggressive scheme too. Enjoy the victory. The Dolphin fans were mostly gone by early in the 4th qtr. They were a somber bunch. Its a long season. We are not going to dominate every week. Noone does. But when your defense plays like it did today, we will be in every game.
  9. Here is an idea. If we want to cross some teams up, start using a 2 TE set more, and pass from it w Knox and Sweeney. In the NFL you have to mix things up. Our offense has not dominated against good teams going back to last season. Start sending 2 TE's down the seams w Beasley going underneath and Diggs doing a deep cross, and our RB drifting out into the flat. Dolphins won't know what hit them.
  10. We need another starting caliber CB, and some O lineman who are tough and talented.
  11. Agree about the O line. They just are not real good. I was excited when we signed Morse. But he has been nothing but average since coming to the Bills. Occasionally a little bit better. Both our tackles looked lousy on Sunday. And our Guards were no better. A good O line is paramount to offensive success. Personally I think the problem is not softness on the team. I think management fell too in love w the roster and its not nearly as good as we want to believe it is. I think after the playoff performance in all 3 games, that more changes should have been made. We did not dominate the Colts by any means. Very even game. Our defense dominated the Ravens. But the offense scored 10 points. And the Chiefs Championship game was not a strong showing on either side of the ball. Its a long season. 16 more regular season games. But I certainly hope the coaches and players realize we are going to have to up our game every week, otherwise there is no way we are contending for a Super Bowl this year.
  12. Talking about going to the game in MIAMI next week. Just checked, no vaccine mandate at Hard Rock Stadium.
  13. Great point about the O line. The O line played lousy from tackle to tackle. Very surprised that we went 14-3 with such a marginal O line. There are no studs on the line. Dawkins is not a stud. When he is on he is above average but never dominates. The rest of the guys are pretty much average to poor. Watching the game against the Steelers and last years playoffs, our roster is not nearly as strong as we would like to believe it is. I think management rested on its laurels a bit too much in the offseason and did little to upgrade the roster. We should have better then Feliciano, Ford and Boettger at Guard. CB2 is a liability. Levi Wallace is not a starting NFL CB. Has little athleticism for the position. The O line is average AT BEST. And we really do not have a dominant RB on the roster. Singletary has some wiggle, but no burst. The front 7 looked a lot better on Sunday. But at this point there are no dominant players in the Front 7. (Although a shout out to Matt Milano and Ed Oliver for playing real well on Sunday) I also think the coaching on the whole, game planning and in game adjustments, and decision making needs a whole lot of improvement. McDermott has certainly not shown he is ready to dominate in big games. (I have no idea why we did not kick the FG up 10-3 on 4th and 8 from the 35 with one of the best kickers in the league. We go up 13-3 and its a whole different game. And the 4th down backward pass was disgusting.) Allen is a stud. But he needs a much better game plan to get the most out of his talents. And stop the QB designed runs. NFL QB's can not run between the tackles. The defensive players are too good to allow for big gaps that are needed for big gains. Big QB runs come off of broken plays/scrambles in the NFL) This is a very big game this week. (Even for week 2) The psyche of a team is very important. We looked flat ill prepared and almost disinterested at times on Sunday. Coaches need to get the tempo and the intensity of the team to another level this week. This season is going to be a dogfight. We had better be ready to bring our A game every week. Otherwise we will be a very disappointed team and fan base come January.
  14. That game has a story line w Darnold going up against his old team and his successor. I think Darnold has a lot to prove this year. I hope he gets his game together. Seems like a good kid. Maybe Carolina will be a better situation for him.
  15. Brady was great. But he played in an era when QB's are protected and not allowed to be demolished. If he played in the 80's and 90's no way he plays into his 40's. Jim Kelly was battered at the end of his career. The head was fair game back in the day. Its like hockey. When do you see the crosscheck in the back w the player facing the glass anymore or the check to the head while skating across the middle? Scott Stevens on Eric Lindross. Its a kinder gentler sports world we live in. lol
  16. Reggie White was as powerful a D lineman as there has ever been.. But Bruce coming around the corner was unblockable a lot of the time. Writing this I remember Bruce just crushing Jeff George when he played for the Colts. Both were all world.
  17. I agree. I was very proud when I saw Bruce at #20. Elway is too high at #15. He was good. But not that good. The 2 Super Bowls he won at the end of his career were on Terrell Davis and a great run blocking scheme w their excellent O line.
  18. I think that is a pretty fair assessment TBJunkie. Also Kummerow didn't look a whole lot smaller then Hollister. I think Knox and Sweeney (if healthy) and Gilliam will be fine for us at TE. We have a top 3 WR corp in the league. That is our bread and butter. Some teams have stud TE's. We have stud WR's.
  19. You might be right on the exact number at Rich. I knew it was a little over 80,000. And that was definitely the number at the Aud. Remember that well, when the Sabres were a respected and respectable hockey team.. So long ago!! Given the size of the region, including Rochester and Southern Ontario, I would think the 70,000 is very doable. But I haven't lived in WNY in years, and entertainment is so fragmented in today's world, it may be more difficult to fill up the stadium. Interesting how many college football stadiums in the midwest and south sell upwards of 80,000 seats for every game.
  20. Wasn't Rich Stadium's capacity 80,300 or so back in the day? We should be able to sell out 70,000 every week in the modern day.
  21. No he wouldn't. He can lead infield practice with all the grounders he throws.
  22. Its football. That's why we have 80 guys still on the roster. We will be fine come opening day. All teams have lots of guys on the injury report during training camp. The physicality of practices in today's game is nothing compared to yesteryear. I doubt they run the Oklahoma drill any longer. That was wicked. I remember when they used to do it in my son's Pee Wee practices. They would just beat the hell out of each other. LOL The game has certainly changed.
  23. Kevin Harlan is excellent. But for excitement and energy, it is hard to beat Gus Johnson... He could make a game between the Jets and Jags feel like its the Super Bowl. Getting Charles Davis as analyst for the opener is good.
  24. If you have You Tube TV all of the hilites of the preseason games are on in 10-15 minute clips.
  25. Great point Greg S. Along those lines I was watching a 60 minute condensed version of the 1998 Alamo Bowl last nite between Purdue (w a very young Drew Brees) and Kansas State (w Michael Bishop at QB). It was an amazingly entertaining game I had recorded off of the Big 10 Network last summer. (A Purdue Classic. LOL) I was watching w my girlfriend's 23 year old son who was spending the nite. The game was tremendously exciting. But the hitting was off the chain. Guys were flying helmet first on almost every play. Receivers and backs were getting absolutely drilled. My girlfriend's son thought there could have been at least 5 or 6 targeting penalties with today's rules. He had never seen football played this way. He was amazed. And there was not one unnecessary roughness penalty called the entire game. Dam the game has changed over the past two decades!!
