He was a distraction to the team. Its that simple. He had no clout to stay any longer when he was going to be a distraction as a rookie punter. Who doesn't agree with him being cut? The guy is being sued for taking part in a gang rape of a 17 year old girl at an off campus college party. To be associated with that in any form or fashion is terrible. The Bills are a professional sports team in the national and international public eye. They can't have their players connected with this in the slightest. This isn't a bar fight or even a DUI. This is bad *****. We all know that. The Bills did not do their homework on Araiza. Got to talk to people on campus about the guy-coaches, teammates, other students, figure out the vibe on this guy. People talk about others all the time. This was not some secret. But you live and learn. Lets move forward and be the best team we can be. That's all that matters now.

I thought he made a nice read, showing good vision cutting back to the left when the hole to the right was completely stuffed. That being said, I don't think he showed much speed once he found the open field because he didn't have to outrun anyone. If he had real NFL speed he probably would have scored there. But overall he ran with confidence which is hopefully a good sign for his play this year. I just don't think speed is his meal ticket.

Good point about LT and TE. Sweeney is not an NFL talent. And Howard may not have anything left. So we have Knox and ???? As for backup LT, Doyle is horrible. No business being an NFL O lineman. Looks stuck in concrete. Tenuta did not look any better. Lets hope Quissenberry can be the swing tackle if Brown is our starter at RT. As for WR, don't count out Crowder. He will end up being a baller for us. Plus Diggs Davis McKenzie Shakir and Hodgins. That's a dam good group of WR's.

Deion was special. Very few in his rarefied air. He LT, Ronnie Lott, Ray Lewis, Reggie White and Bruce. The best defensive players of the modern era. (My namesake Bryce Paup was close-JK. but he did have a couple monster years in 95 and 96) Deion also played major league baseball at an above average level as well. And the guy just has a certain style that transcends sports. I agree about Eli. Was never much of a fan of his. Was a statue in the pocket as well. But don't slight Kurt Warner. He was special. The greatest show on turf was a ridiculous offense. And Warner was the guy. I believe his first 3 starts were all over 300 years and 3 TD's each. He and Eli should not be discussed in the same breath.

I seriously do not think Leslie Frazier has ever had a negative thing to say about any player on the Bills he has ever coached or been around. A little more bite would not be a bad thing. I think he makes milk toast seem jacked up. Could be why noone is hiring him to be their head coach. You don't need to be a walking freakshow. But we aren't playing shuffle board or cornhole here. The passion and emotion of a Dan Campbell is at least entertaining and inspiring if nothing else.

That's laughable. Crowder is banged up right now. He has had an excellent career, and you are going to keep a guy like Kumerow who adds nothing to the offense over him?? Get it together!!

I don't think his personality and leadership stuff equates to being a physically dominant football player. The other stuff is all fine and good. But the guy needs to up his game several levels. I would much rather have a guy who played like Daryl Talley (one mean SOB on the field) then a Tremaine Edmunds. Just one guys opinion. But I do hope Tremaine takes his game to the next level, and plays with a little more dog in him.

We whupped there ass in New England late in the season and then put a historic beatdown on them in the playoffs. Mac Jones isn't scaring anyone with his noodle arm. The guy doesn't suck, (but starting NFL QB's are not supposed to suck) but he can't move and has nothing dynamic to his game. Bring on all comers.

Gunner I think you are one of the best posters on here, and I respect your football acumen. But you are being very charitable about Wallace. Is he absolute trash? No. But whenever a WR ran anything against him that was done the field or crossing over the middle in the intermediate zones, he could not keep up and was toast. Anytime you are playing a scheme that is built around compensating for the deficiencies of one specific player, you are eventually going to have a big problem. And that's what happened in the playoff game last year against KC. I am excited that we finally have a top athletic talent in Elam to pair w Tre White at CB. Its a passing league. We need to match up with guys on the boundary who can run.

Wallace was a big time liability in coverage. He doesn't have the speed or athleticism to line up against starting NFL receivers. (Pittsburgh will find that out quickly) The Bills were able to cover up for Wallace because our safeties our excellent and read plays as well as any tandem in the league. But against good QB's like Mahomes, Wallace was unfortunately exposed. Hopefully Elam and White become a great CB duo on the outside w Johnson in the slot and Jackson getting some PT against 4 WR sets.

Certainly not pay him with two more years on his rookie contract, especially after one of the worst QB performances in playoff history last year against the Rams. He certainly needs to prove himself before getting the big money. And he is a ***** leader on that team. But that's the Cardinals. Cliff KIngsbury and Kyler Murray. Not gonna win a lot of playoff games w that pair.

Thanks for the stats on Chandler. The 1976 season was my first living in Buffalo. We had a bad team back then. But I remember Chandler was really good. For some reason I remember we had a punt returner named Keith Moody. Guy played CB also. I think he had a punt return for a TD that year against the Jets. Not sure how I remember that given I was 11 at the time. LOL But Chandler was a real technician and would have been really good in any era.

Bob Chandler was a really good WR in an era where playing the position was not easy. DB's could really be physical and abusive to WR's back then. I remember he was fun to watch. How long did he play for the Bills? Dam he was young. Did he die from lung cancer? Something makes me think that. But I am not for sure.

We are lucky that we have such a high character hard working WR in Gabe Davis. If he stays healthy he will definitely be a force in the NFL for many years. Great pick by Beane. But you sound a bit harsh on Sammy. Guy was a tremendous raw physical talent in his early years in the league. But not everyone has the right stuff between the ears. The guy didn't seem to be a bad dude. He just probably did not have the focus needed to be a star. Guy was kind of quirky. A little different. And probably had some issues w alcohol. And he had the foot and ankle issues that were always nicking him up. Stevie Johnson was quirky and a little different also. The difference was he seemed to be a harder worker then Sammy. And he came into the league from Kentucky as a much lower draft pick. With not nearly the expectations of Sammy. My point is that these are young men when they come into the NFL. Like in all professions, it is really hard to predict how someone in the early to mid 20's is going to pan out. Some become stars at what they do. Some are decent, having their moments but never ascend to stardom. And some are lazy loserish trolls who never amount to much. Football is no different. It is a microcosm of society. At least Sammy is still playing. And we have Gabe. And Diggs, and Crowder and Mckenzie and the rookie from Boise, and Knox and OJ Howard and maybe Hudgins. So its all good.

6th round isn't moving the meter for me, unless its Tom Brady in the 6th round way back in 2000. Some people and media like his game. I don't think he sucks. I think he was overdrafted and doesn't have great instincts on the football field. Hopefully he takes things to the next level this year. If he was Sam Cowart without his injuries, I would be ecstatic.

Its a great draft because we got Josh Allen, who will hopefully go down as one of the best QB's to ever play the game. At least one of the most exciting. Taron Johnson is an excellent football player. Not a big guy. But gets the most out of his game week in and week out. Edmunds has not been a bust, but has a low ceiling. And will never be a star in the NFL. Just doesn't have the instincts that very good to great players have. And was overdrafted. Phillips can be a force in the middle if he stays healthy. Teller is a brawler and a beast. I remember watching him in person at Va Tech when my son went on a recruiting visit there. Guy is a force. But GM's aren't perfect. I think Bates can be pretty dam good going forward. Time will tell on that. Neal is a solid player. Not overly athletic. But a solid contributor with an occasional big play.

Thank you for the excellent description of Marlin Briscoe. I can imagine the numbers he could have put up in the modern era. I think McKenzie while probably not a star, will be a very solid contributor to the team this year. I remember Jerry Butler when I was a teenager growing up in Buffalo. Was a great strider going after the football. I recall him having a monster game in maybe 1980 or 1981 against the Jets. Maybe 4 TD's and a whole bunch of yards. Too bad injuries took away his game. thanks for the comparison to Briscoe. Butler and Frank Lewis were quite a pair of WR's in the Chuck Knox/Joe Ferguson era. Go Bills!

I remember watching him play for Miami when I was young. But not in great detail. Who would you compare him to in the modern age? Anyone on today's Bills? Maybe Isiah McKenzie.

My Mom and her boyfriend had season tickets in the lower part of the upper deck for many years. I believe they were good seats between the 30's. They drove down for most of the games from Toronto. They were at the Blizzard game against the Colts in 2017 I believe it was where Lesean McCoy had the big TD run in OT for the win. I think that was their last year of season tickets. She is 81 and in good health (a hearty lady) but her boyfriend is 83 and has Congestive Heart Failure and does not get around well anymore. I guess he didn't want to die at the Ralph.

That game was brutal. Sunday nite at the Ralph. We looked like a Pee Wee team against Brady, Moss, etc. Ugly. That and the Cowboys Monday nite when we were up by 9 in the last minute were as bad as it got during the draught. Makes me think of Donte Whitner for some reason. (Didn't he fail to recover the onside kick against the Cowboys allowing them to kick the winning FG?) He was not worthy of a 1st round pick let alone a top 10 pick. Guy had the range of a turtle stuck in mud. But at least he could knock the crap of Ocho Cinco with impugnity. And played with bad intentions.

Poyer is a good player. But he is not an all timer the way a lot of people talk about him on here. It would be nice if we can keep him for a couple more years on a reasonable deal. But Beane has to look at the big picture. And his job is not to break the bank for every player on the team. That is not how the NFL works. If Poyer and Drew Rosenhaus are thinking otherwise then he probably won't be here next year. But it would be pretty foolish of him to hold out during a season that we are a very strong Super Bowl contender. I can not imagine he would want to miss out on any of that. Showing up at mandatory mini camp is a good move on his part.

If Hodgins can't beat out a guy like Kumerow, then he is not NFL material. Hopefully he stays healthy and that allows the talent that he showed at Oregon State to come out.

Disagree on both. Bruce Smith is one of the top D Lineman of all time. He can say whatever he likes. You can say the same about LT, and Ray Lewis. As for Boselli he was a bad ass left tackle. One of the best ever as well. If Terrell Davis got in with 4 great seasons, why shouldn't Boselli get in? Football just like life has changed so much over the years. The game used to be played by gladiators. Big mean tough dudes with bad intentions. (Think Oakland Raiders, circa 1970's or Darryl Talley circa every day, Steve Atwater, etc) Now we read nonsense about a kicker and a long snapper sitting on the sidelines at halftime of the Super Bowl watching the halftime show. How would that have gone over with Charles Haley or Ronnie Lott on those great 49ers teams? LOL. And the head coach of the Washington whatever you call them calling out and fining his D Coordinator for giving his opinion on US politics because it may have offended some people!! Wa Wa Wa!! If Bruce has something to say. You had better listen.
