  1. Well said MSW. Hill will become an afterthought in New York. He will be double teamed because they have noone else to go deep and take coverage away from Hill. But it looks like he is in it for the money. And we have Jamison Crowder who could end up putting up better stats then Tyreek when all is said and done, with Crowder playing w Josh and Hill playing w Wilson or Tua. Sometimes its best to take a little bit less cash, and get to do something that used to matter-WINNING!!
  2. Charles Haley and Matt Millen. Those were two bad ass dudes on a football field. Would they even be allowed to play in today's era? Throw in Jack Lambert and it would be fright nite every nite for offenses.
  3. Maybe Bates is just a dam good player. I love all the talk about this guy is better in one system, and this guy is better in another system. How about you're a good O lineman because you can run block and pass block regardless of whatever system teams want to run. Before Mike Shanahan and the Denver Broncos of the 1990's began running a "zone" blocking scheme, everyone just lined up and tried knock the crap out of the defender in front of them. I don't remember any of the great O lineman of past eras being only good in one scheme. Kent Hull Will Woolford, Jim Ritcher, Ruben Brown etc were just dam good blockers.
  4. Don't forget about McKenzie's monster game against New England last December. And also the season finale against Miami in 2020. McKenzie can make plays when given the chance. He will be a very solid contributor this coming season, if he can take the pounding. That being said. I loved what Beasley did as a Buffalo Bill. The man was an awesome receiver for us. But his speed is declining due to injuries. And that is football. A big salute to him as a football player. And also as a person for standing up for his individual rights as an American citizen. He is a hero for that in many circles. Maybe not in Western New York. But where he comes from and many other places, he sure as hell is.
  5. Solid management is improving the roster. Doesn't matter so much about the cap, since it can constantly be manipulated and tweaked every year. We have an amazing QB with a very good offense around him. Our defense is so so regardless of the ranking from last year. (We folded against every good offense we played) It needs to be better. Beane needs to bring in some difference makers on defense, whether its Free Agency, trade or the draft.
  6. What is there to like about playing for Washington? Garbage organization. Now if it was in the George Allen or Joe Gibbs era, thats a different story. But on to the next.
  7. Just keep him away from tall buildings with large glass windows, and maybe he will be decent..
  8. Give me a break Tyrod sucks. (watch the 2nd half of the Jets-Texans game from last season) But so does Daniel Jones. Wow, the Giants used to be a flagship NFL franchise. Now they are a raging fire of garbage. Not sure what Daboll was thinking taking that job. Ugh..
  9. With no upside, and a low ceiling. You want to win championships, we need a more athletic CB then Levi Wallace.
  10. Agreed. I am amazed at the love for a guy who looks like he runs in mud. He hasn't sucked. But any decent quick receiver has his way w Levi.
  11. The black Trent Edwards is now on his 5th team. Vikings, Saints, Panthers, Broncos and now Dolphins. He brings as little energy to an offense both from a physical and emotional presence as I believe is humanly possible. How is he still in the league? Makes Tyrod Taylor look almost like a downfield gunslinger.
  12. That is as good a post as I have read on here in a long time Shaw66. Totally agree. I cringe thinking of playing for the Jags. Heck their owner would rather their team be in London anyways. They play in a college stadium in a BS city. Nothing good about the Jacksonville Jaguars.
  13. Solid veteran that fills a need. Good signing. Lets keep it going..
  14. Thats a good point. Fortunately for us, the Giants pretty much suck. So unless they just go nuts and offer Bates huge money, all things being equal I would assume he would rather play for a championship contender w Josh Allen, then the Giants and Daniel Jones. When I think of Kromer and the beach chair incident, I just crack up. Just another part of the nonsense that was the Bills 17 year playoff draught.
  15. Jarvis Landry is a solid NFL professional Wide Receiver. Not everyone has to be borderline HOF before we consider them.
  16. I think we still can match any contract offered to him by another team. Let another team set the market, and then we can decide if he is worth keeping. As long as its not an absurd number, I think Beane is smart enuf to keep him.
  17. Good for the Bills. When we play the Steelers, I like our chances given whom they have at starter now. Don't think he is much of an upgrade from Big Ben the past couple years. That's a tough division. Pittsburgh could be considered #4 right now fighting it out w the Brownies.
  18. The whole thing sounded fishy from the start. Young women today are ridiculous. Did they stop putting brains in females who were born after 1995? Seriously all they do is look at their phones and take selfies. Glad I grew up in the 70's and 80's.
  19. Good way to summarize things so far. Free Agency hasn't even started yet, and some are all worked up. I think Beane does need to add some playmakers to the team (especially on defense). I think trading Edmunds would be a start. (He plays too important of a position to be so lacking in his playmaking skills and instincts) But things will play out over the next couple of months. Disappointing how tight we are against the cap. The Star contract really was a headscratcher. But I think this will be the year that we see what Beane can do to really give us a strong shot to get to the top of the mountain. If we crash and burn again, then someone will have to take responsibility. But I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for another season.
  20. Herbie is OK. Even if he was a Buckeye. But Mr College Football is Gus Johnson!! And before him it had to be Brent Musberger. And here is one from the past who was excellent. The original Saturday nite voice of College Football on ESPN. Ron Franklin!!
  21. All that matters is if this signing is going to help us win the Super Bowl. Who cares if we keep a lot of our own players or not. We were not good enuf overall to win the Super Bowl last year. Our QB was. Our WR's were. The defense was not. Siran Neal is a decent player. But that looks like a lot of money for a guy that does not start or play a LOT on offense or defense. Hopefully his cap hit next year is low. Have nothing against him. But not sure he is much of a difference maker is all.
  22. I sure felt that way. And I don't even know who Bill Simmons is. I do know Gene Simmons and think he is a heavy metal god. And I do know Richard Simmons-and don't quite think of him quite as highly. But he was funny back in the day. LOL
  23. Belichik and Cowher/Tomlin were better coaches then Dungy and Caldwell.
  24. I said the same thing about the Super Bowl. It seemed like just another mediocre 4pm mid season game. Nothing special. I do love the game of football. I love the Bills. But college football on the whole is more exciting then the NFL. Not being able to pound the QB has taken some of the steam out of the game. I don't think D Lineman attack with nearly the ferocity they used to for fear of being penalized. The NFL does not promote its violence like they used to. And that is what made football special. A softer game in a much softer world. (Can you see Ronnie Lott playing in today's NFL? LOL) Thanks to Roger for that. But I will always watch it. Football and Nascar. That's where I am in my sports love in my mid 50's. Baseball and basketball who cares. Hockey is a nice diversion at times. But the Sabres are still terrible. (Watching the Blues win the Cup a few years back was cool.) I could not agree w you less. Steve Atwater hits were what made football so dam popular. Sure its great to see guys making big plays running down the field. But I sure would not have minded seeing someone close line Cooper Kupp.
  25. Exactly. By the time you are in your mid 30's in the NFL at WR, your body is breaking down, and you are just not a top end player any longer. Happened to Edelman. Happened to Welker. Happened to Fitzgerald. Happened to Andre Reed. Happened to Moulds even sooner. Happens to them all. He has had a good career.
