  1. Can Van Demark play LT? Because seriously Dawkins is just flat out awful at this point. His get off is nonexistent. Brown may have some upside, its really hard to tell because he always seems nicked up. And is a penalty machine. But Dawkins gets beat on a regular basis. And is also a penalty machine. We have a serious problem at OT with the season only 3 weeks away. Is John Fina still vertical and have a little bend in his 54 year old body? The guy was better then anyone who has played tackle for us in the McBeane era. Taylor Lewan is just a psychotic version of Spencer Brown. His best football was at my school Michigan. Can we move Bates to RT?
  2. We have played one preseason game in 2023 so far. So maybe wait a little while before getting too excited about our draft class. I thought our second and third string WR's looked real good. Patmon Shavers Johnson and Ateman were making plays all over the field. As did our backup RB's. Thought the run blocking was good. OT play is always questionable. (biggest potential weakness on the team) D Line looked really dominant. Real good to see. We have a good team. The Colts don't.
  3. That was something watching Campbell do the up downs on the first show. I think he got to about 37 when his wrist was about to give out. He is a character. And a solid coach. If they can find some defense, the Lions will be in the mix this year in the NFC. Should be an interesting opening nite game in KC.
  4. Show has gone on way too long. Nothing riveting there. Watching Aaron Rodgers and Zach Wilson throwing footballs in shorts. Meh. Saleh wants to be one of the guys. Not a lot of intensity in today's NFL. Show me some fights between O line and D line. Maybe some Oklahoma drills. It was fun watching the Jets get whupped in the second half of the HOF game by the Browns though. We will own them come September 11th.
  5. That's stupid. He certainly was before injuring his knee last year. Maybe not Bruce Smith good. But still very good.
  6. Good analysis SC. You are usually very sharp with your football opinions and discussion. Edmunds had one good season. He is athletic but not intuitive. The game is just not second nature for him. And he certainly was not worth to us what the Bears were willing to pay him. Football is still won in the trenches. With a much improved D Line, one of the guys competing to be the starting MLB, should be able to develop into a solid player. LB's just don't dominate today's game. So a guy like Edmunds is only worth so much money. Interesting to see what he does in Chicago. I don't like the Bills drafting Bernard and then Williams in the 3rd round. Not sure what they are watching when these guys don't seem to be able to compete for playing time. (I personally hope Baylen Spector is our starter. I think he has the most upside and understands the game. Kind of like Benford in the secondary. Although I am an Elam fan as well.) I think the O line has to be much better then last year. We won't go far unless they play reasonably well. RT scares me. The reports on Spencer Brown do not sound encouraging. And Dawkins needs to up his game too. Hopefully Shell can compete for some PT at tackle. Kincaid will be a force. And I like all 3 of our RB's. They all are solid. And when Josh is on, there is noone better in the NFL at QB. I think we will be plenty prepared and fired up to lay a beatdown on the Jets come opening night. A big win will set the tempo for the season, and send a message to the league that we are still a team to be taken very seriously. And the team to beat in the AFC East.
  7. Zeke was very good. But not ridiculous. And Jacobs was excellent last year. We definitely need a running game. And I think w Cook Harris and Murray we are solid. Combined w Josh's bigtime runs, we should be fine.
  8. Very good analysis of what likely happened unfortunately to Hines.
  9. Good point about Derrick Henry. He was a beast a few years back. And his O line was a very good run blocking line. And Jonathan Taylor is special as well. (We sure had trouble stropping him a couple years ago.) But the modern NFL seems to be a pass first league. Interesting how things have evolved. I have followed football religiously since the mid 70's as a youngster. Both college and pro. And the game was so different back in the 70's. I have watched old Michigan replay games (my alma mater) on the Big 10 Network with my older son who is a young adult, who played college football, and he can not believe how grinding the games were in the 70's and 80's. (a lot more physical too) But at the time the games seemed very exciting. I guess its all relative to what we are used to in a given era. I am just excited that another football season is almost upon us. Go Bill!! Go Blue!!
  10. I own Jet skis down in Fort Lauderdale. Ride them in the ocean and the intercoastal. Its not hard to ride them safely. It feels fast going 30-35mph. No need to be crazy on them.
  11. Absolutely no reason to tie up big money in any RB in today's NFL. Murray and Harris along with Cook will be just fine. Isn't Ezekiel Elliott still unsigned? I think the Cowboys learned their lesson on giving a RB a big second contract.
  12. Morse Murray and Hines are all good NFL players. You don't cut good players. You find a way to keep them. I like Morse more then a lot of people I guess. He is tough, a leader and an above average Center. If he can keep playing at a reasonably high level, I would extend him for another couple more years so he can finish his career as a Bill. No reason he can't play til he is 34 or 35. The guy isn't an All Pro. But he is super solid.
  13. You can spin your narrative any way you like. Every NFL QB has to be able to throw the ball down the field into tight windows with anticipation. The great ones just do it better then the rest. Does that mean they won lots of Super Bowls? Not necessarily. Football is a team game. You need a very good team around you to win Super Bowls. Look at Eli Manning. An above average QB at best, who won two Super Bowls. And John Elway NEVER was a dink and dunk check down QB. He won two Super Bowls because he had an amazing O line with an elite RB in Terrell Davis at the end of his career. You had better go watch film of Peyton Manning my friend. He was always throwing down the field to Marvin Harrison Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark.
  14. There is tragedy every day in the world. Always has been. Always will. Doesn't make it easier to take. But that is how life revolves unfortunately. I remember Mallett at my school Michigan in the 2000's. The boy had some moxie. Too bad he never became a big timer. RIP!!
  15. I don't think you ever want to let the defense dictate what type of offense you want to run. Sure there are times you want to throw in the flats or underneath coverage depending on where you are on the field in certain down and distances, and where you are in the game from a clock standpoint. But the great QB's are not dink and dunk checkdown artists. I will never agree with that assessment. And Josh Allen will never be that. Nor should he be. That's like when people have a tremendous sports car and are afraid to drive it over 55 miles per hour. Just a waste of a special machine.
  16. I haven't missed a Bills game since the season finale in 1994 when we already eliminated from playoffs in the first year after our Super Bowl run. I am not one who agrees with the theme that Josh Allen needs to change his style. With a better O line he will be unstoppable. As for you, you seem a little high strung. Save it for when someone really tries to bash you. LOL
  17. Your original question is a no brainer answer. Where did the phrase "hero ball" ever come from? Josh Allen is easily one of the ten most physically gifted QB's of all time. (not saying one of the 10 best, at least not yet) Let the man play his best game every week. He is not a dink and dunk check down guy. No good QB's are that. You don't pay a guy millions of dollars to check the ball down. Let him show what he's got every week on every drive, on every frikin play. He is an amazing talent. Don't put the chains on him!! Did you want Brett Favre to be a check down guy? Of course not!! Just stop. And go watch some golf until the season comes around. Good grief.
  18. Agree with your sentiments Process. Roster looks great on paper this year. See a lot more potential on O line. Love drafting Kincaid and signing Harris and Murray at RB. Signing Ford and Floyd on D line are good moves also. Letting Edmunds and Frazier go was smart. Edmunds was certainly not a game changer. And our defense was predictable and passive under Frazier. I think McDermott puts a different spin on how we play on D. Tough schedule in the second half of the year. But I think this will be a very good team that gets better over the course of the season. And Josh Allen is going to dominate. With a decent O line and a big time TE in Kincaid to go with our other weapons, who is really going to stop our offense?
  19. Do you really like having a user name like that? That says a lot right off the bat without anyone really knowing who you are. Just saying. As for your rant about some people being too negative on this message board. I don't think this place is supposed to be a Buffalo Bills cheerleading board. It is a place where people should give their legitimate opinions (good and bad) about the Bills and to discuss NFL football in general. McDermott and Beane have put a very good team together. And Josh Allen is an amazing talent, who gives us a great chance to win every single week we play. And that is awesome. That being said, we looked terrible against Cincinnati last year in the playoffs. And blew a game we should have won two years ago at KC in the playoffs in terrible fashion. That falls on McDermott. And the marginal O line and Defensive play the past couple of years that contributed to our downfall in the playoffs falls on McDermott and Beane in my opinion. That doesn't mean they suck. It means they have not been quite elite enough to get us to the finish line despite having an amazing QB. If you believe otherwise Dopey (lol) that is your prerogative. But don't think others should not have a more critical view of things. If it comes off as intelligent football talk, embrace it. And btw I think this years team, is going to be the best we have had in the McBeane era. How things turn out is anyone's guess. But I for one am sure as hell excited to be a part of it.
  20. Everyone is competing with everyone at CB. I don't think you can even say that Tre White is a lock to be starting, if he is still playing like he did at the end of last season. (hopefully he is close to his old form this year) The best guys should make the final roster and see the field at every position. It should not matter where they are drafted.
  21. Anyone know how Doyle is recovering from the ACL tear he suffered week 3 at Miami in the Sauna bowl? Hopefully he is ready for camp since the injury was early last season. How about if he plays well and Shell plays well? Then Brown could be on the hot seat this summer fighting for a spot on the roster. Love bringing in competition at RT. At worse this will hopefully get rid of Quessenberry. He was awful at times last year. But did have a bad ankle injury.
  22. Completely agree. Arthur Smith has done nothing with the Falcons. Put Mike Vrabel in there as well. Last season was a tire fire for the Titans. And Vrabel can take a lot of responsibility for that.
  23. You talk about him like he is just getting started in the league. He has been around awhile and has been abused plenty. He isn't going to get any faster and twitchier as he ages. If you want to be a Super Bowl contender its tough having guys like Levi Wallace fill out your roster. I hope the same is not true of Spencer Brown.
  24. Linebacker is a very devalued position in today's NFL. Milano was a 5th round pick and has had a great career for us. Lets hope Spector and Williams follow the same trajectory. It will be an exciting battle to see who starts next to Milano this season. It seems that Edmunds was just handed the MLB job from when he was drafted because he was a first round pick. I think he would have developed into a better all around player if he was given competition to be the starter. But Edmunds is gone. Time to move forward.
