  1. Johnson is a liability in coverage every game. Need guys taller than 5’8 on your secondary. His technique is terrible. When Benford is healthy, it should be him Jackson and Douglas on the field. Johnson is toast every game. I don’t mind blitzing if your secondary all play w good technique. Johnson doesn’t.
  2. Josh looks pretty bad right now. Russell outplayed him tonite. He is making terrible reads and missing open receivers all over the field. This is not the same QB from 2019-2022. You are kidding yourself if you think otherwise. 4 turnovers by the offense at home is disgusting. But the D folded late. And leaving T Johnson one on one w the Broncos best WR on the PI was terrible. And then the 12 men at the end felt like we were in the twilight zone. Would any NFL team really allow that to happen??!! This team is done. A big train wreck of a season. McDermott looks helpless. And so does Josh leading the offense. And the funny thing is we ran the hell out of the ball tonite. Especially when we let Cook out of jail. Do I dare say that Josh is starting to look like Carson Wentz. Someone better get that boys head on straight before he really goes down the rabbit hole to shitville This coaching staff can’t do it and is a cancer that has spread throughout the team. They need to go.
  3. I agree on both. Was only thinking the AFC in my earlier post. I was in Detroit this weekend for the Metallica shows. 🤘🤘And the town is all fired up about the Lions. As they should be.
  4. That would be great if Bates has the talent to be a good starting center in the NFL. But if he can’t even start for us now, not sure that will happen. A young guy that is a stud that could come in and man the pivot would be a godsend for the offense.
  5. So do we draft a Center in the top 3 rounds next year? We haven’t drafted a true Center since Eric Wood back in what 2008. Morse is not dominating in the middle anymore.
  6. Nice post LA. You always see things for what they are. The game has passed McDermott by. Our offense has lost a lot of its juice. The coaching is certainly not cutting edge. And has not gotten nearly the best out of Josh Allen. The Giants Patriots and Jaguars’ games were unacceptable. We were ill prepared against all 3 teams. And almost gave away the Bucs game w conservative coaching at the end. Heck we were not prepared on offense to play the Jets opening week. We had our window from 2020-2022. That window is closing fast. Need some new blood around the team and Josh Allen. An aggressive offensive minded coach who coaches w passion. When teams like the Texans are playing better then us, things have to change.
  7. What does this have to do w the offense? Every team has injuries. We almost lost to Tampa and the Giants. The defense played well in those games. The offense has been stuck in neutral the past 5 games. If we can put up 35 plus pts every week, injuries on Defense are not going to matter.
  8. Good points as always SC. One thing which I believe is hurting the defense is the play of Poyer and Hyde. They just don’t have the speed and quickness to cover anyone anymore. Poyer got beat badly on the Bengals 1st TD. And Hyde has been getting beat all year. Sure they can still support the run coming downhill and our smart. But this isn’t 1992 when safety’s could just pummel receivers. Everyone in the secondary has to be able to cover receivers. And I believe we are limited w those two back there. What teams are playing 2 starting safety’s well into their 30’s? It just doesn’t happen in today’s game. Combine those 2’s age and how small Taron Johnson is and the back end is becoming a weakness. I like Douglass and Joseph. But we need an infusion of young talented athletic players on defense.
  9. I thought it was the Bears. And I am sure he is glad he chose the Bills over the Bears.
  10. Hyde and Poyer are slow and beat up. They play hard but neither can cover anymore. We need to find some young safeties that can play. No team has 2 starting safeties that are 33 years old. That is part of our problem. We need young talent. Is Bates good enough to be a starting NFL center and anchor a good NFL O line is the big question ?
  11. Watch the Colts-Jags game week 17 of the 2021 season. And his play w Washington last year. That should tell you why. It wasn't pretty. Wentz does have a live arm. He just doesn't read the field very well.
  12. I like the pressure calls. The problem seems to be that our defenders can't get to the QB. And if our front 4 could get constant pressure, we would not have to blitz, and could cover more of the field. The Jets and Chargers sure did not have any problems getting to Herbert and Wilson last night. Losing Milano has really handcuffed us. He can blitz, stop the run and cover the pass as well as any LB in the game. And also if the Bills offense was playing at full throttle the entire game. And moving the ball and scoring more, the Bengals would have had to have played more aggressively on offense, and we likely get at least one or two turnovers. They knew our offense was stagnant against their D for much of the game. And decided to play it a bit more safe and conservative.
  13. I meant Oliver is somewhat better, but NOT nearly at the level of Kyle Williams and Marcel Darius (before his big contract)
  14. The immediate future of the team (and this season) is two home games against Denver and the Jets that originally looked like easy victories. Neither are going to be easy now. (That we almost lost to the hapless Giants. And lost to the equally hapless Patriots is a real bad look for the entire organization. And what this team is currently made of.) The team is spiraling downward and has been struggling since London. Its the coach's job to keep the team believing they can win. To put them in position to win with a good game plan. And to keep playing hard every week. I am very interested in how the team comes out next Monday nite. We should beat the Broncos by at least 14-17 pts at home. But that doesn't mean we will. I think we will know in the next two weeks if McDermott has lost the team or not. If the team misses the playoffs and ends up with a losing record or close to it, McDermott has to go.
  15. Real good post Utah John. Our talent level relative to the rest of the league is nothing special. 3 premium players does not get you to Super Bowls. Or even close for that matter. I would argue that Kincaid will become a premium player. (But have no idea why we invested so much money in Dawson Knox who athletically is easily in the bottom half of starting TE's in the league) And I think Shakir can become a very good player if used properly. I would put Cook in the good to very good level as well. But decent RB's can be found at the local discount store. Overall the talent is lacking. And that is on Beane. But I would add that McDermott and his staff in no way coaches up players to get the most out of their talent. It seems to be an entire organization fail at this point. Any chance your boy Kyle Whittingham wants to leave Utah and become the Bills head coach? I think his vibe would work wonders for us. Bring in a good OC with him, and we will be top dog within two years.
  16. Great post RG. I could not agree with you more. Neither of them are high motor consistent difference makers. Oliver is somewhat better, but nearly at the level of Kyle Williams and Marcel Darius (before his big contract). Milano is the only top D player on our roster. D Jones was having a great year. And Tre was a top player before his injuries. As was Poyer and Hyde before age and injuries took their toll. At this point with our injuries, we don't have a lot of top end talent on the defense. Holding the Bengals to 24 pts was a dam solid performance IMO. (Benford and Bernard have a lot of potential. And Jackson and Johnson always play hard. But one is athletically limited. And the other is too short.) Did you watch the Jets-Chargers last night? Those are two bad ass defenses. Constant pressure by both D lines on the QB's all night. And lots of aggressive coverage and hitting on every play. Both of those defenses are light years ahead of us talent wise. And that should not be. But it is.
  17. Your user name is great bro. But not sure what you mean about Google. I have followed Crosby's entire career. The guy is a hell of a player who has fought through a lot of demons. If Rousseau becomes half the player Crosby is, and our defense played with Crosby's intensity and enthusiasm, we would all be a lot happier today.
  18. Josh Allen is the Bills. He isn’t going anywhere nor should he. Getting rid of him is crazy talk. He is a generational talent. The head coach is not though. Nothing special in the slightest about him. This season is on the brink. We can rise and put together a great second half of the season, and look like the team we all hoped and thought we would be after beating Miami week 4. Or we can act like a beaten bunch of ***** that have quit and look rudderless with no leadership. McDermott and the rest of the coaches future w the team should hinge on that.
  19. Maxx Crosby-4th round Eastern Michigan.
  20. That's the Philadelphia Eagles. They knew who they are and what they do well. And keep doing it. They also have a better D line then we do. Especially at getting after the QB. And the one intangible they play with the past couple of years is that they are well coached, and play with confidence. Their coach exudes that on the sideline to the point where you want to punch him in the face because he comes off so cocky. But the team plays with that confidence, and that is a big difference knowing you are going to win at the end of every game. We are not playing that way right now in the slightest. That starts with McDermott. He looks tense worried and concerned from the get go every week. Not a leader w confidence like say Dan Campbell. That has filtered down to Josh. We started the game with an excellent first drive. That should have continued all game with a few adjustments as Cinci adjusted. But we bogged down immediately throughout most of the rest of the game until the 4th quarter. By then we were down by 2 scores. And had the unfortunate Kincaid fumble. The offense has no cohesiveness or consistency. That should not be happening at this point in the year in Josh's 6th season. He is pressing too much. And does not look in complete control of things. That is the big difference between he Burrow and Mahones. B and M look completely calm cool and collected, like they have been playing in their respective offenses their entire life. Josh is pressing and not looking smooth and collected. Something has to change real quick else no playoffs for this team..
  21. We are going to need at least 10 wins to have a shot at the playoffs. Have to beat the Broncos and Jets to get things turned around. Then the gauntlet starts. KC Philly Dallas Chargers. And finish with NE and Miami. No gimmes. If the team was playing well I could see a 6-2 finish. But we are not. Offense gets nothing out of Harty Sherfield Murray Knox and Davis. It’s Cook Diggs and Kincaid. And now some Shakir which should have happened from the start of the year. (That’s on the offensive coaches for not making the kid a big part of the offense from Day 1 of camp. Same w Kincaid) And some Josh Allen runs which never happen in the 1st half. But start when we are desperate later in the game. Josh is still a baller. Love watching him play. But the offense is not a well oiled machine. And the passion is lacking. We barely get plays off before the 40 second clock expires. The O line is average at best. And Spencer Brown should not be on the field. He is a huge liability. Defense has a lot of injuries. And the D line has no game changers. Taron Johnson is a liability in coverage even though he is a great tackler. Just too small to cover most WR’s. Safety’s are old and slow if not tough as nails. Roster is mediocre at best. And losing Milano Jones and White was brutal. Because the rest of defense is at best average as a whole. McDermott is not going to lead this team anywhere close to a championship. His Mojo ended at 13 seconds. If we can’t turn it around and at least be competitive and a tough out every week, the whole coaching staff needs to go after this season.
  22. Beasley was great as a slot receiver. He was always open in clutch situations. Kincaid is him now. But we need a lot more from our WR’s. Gabe sucks. He is almost never open.
  23. The Chiefs very rarely play a prime time game on the road. The NFL seems to love games at night in Arrowhead Stadium.
  24. Physicality and toughness is certainly important. But this isn't 1970's Raider football where you could literally beat the tar out of your opponent. Any big time hit gets flagged in today's NFL. Just look at last nite's game and the personal fouls called on both teams for landing with full bodyweight on the QB. I think Poyer and Hyde would love to lay the wood on the Bengal's receivers. But that's just a personal foul penalty waiting to happen. But we do need to come out and play w attitude swag and confidence. And that includes an aggressive game plan from the coaches. Push the ball up the field. Make the Bengals defense chase our guys. The short passing game does nothing to put the opposing defense on their heals. Every series on offense is super critical. Play call that way. We have run the draw to Cook on second and long so many times this year. And gotten nothing from it. Take it out of the playbook. Let Josh run as much as needed. He is our x factor against a good team. The Bengals went into San Fran and played a great game. No reason we can't go into Cinci and play the same against them. And if there is any way to get Douglas Joseph and Fournette dressed for the game and involved on the field, they had best do it. Because guys like Dane Jackson are just too small and unimposing physically to compete well against a team like the Bengals.
