The Chiefs are not to be underestimated because they have Mahomes.  Saying that, what you talk about is all because people think KC can just flip that switch and turn it on because they have done so in the past.  People been saying that and waiting on it all year and it hasn't happened.  Even though the Miami game was pretty much won on field goals, people think KC turned it on.  I'm not buying it.  They are still dangerous and do have a really good defense. Obviously, we can still lose this game but this still isn't the Chiefs team we have seen in the past.

And this seems to be a different Bills team as well.  At least the last 6 games.  Everyone playing with a lot more grit and toughness.  We certainly did not dominate the Chargers Pats and Dolphins on the scoreboard.  But we never panicked and made all the plays we needed in each game to win.  Same with against the Steelers.  Although I thought we dominated them as much as anyone in the streak other than the Cowgirls.

If anything, the preponderance of evidence was that the ball wasn't touched by the helmet, which was the question everything was asking watching at home - but which wasn't what the refs were reviewing. The call on the field was that the Buffalo player didn't possess the ball inbounds, and the replay showed clearly that he did. It was a miscarriage to let the call stand, and if the excuse is "it might have nicked the helmet" when that wasn't what was under review, then it's more than incompetence.

The refs blew that call bigtime.  It was obvious that Spector completely possessed the ball in bounds.  You could see that in live time.  Not sure why the refs couldn't see it in live time or on review.

The rule is pretty straightforward that if a player with any part of his body out of bounds touches the ball, its dead there.  But that didn't happen in the Bills-Steelers game.  It was a fumble by the Pittsburgh TE, recovered by Spector in bounds.

He seemed gimpy after 1 of his early catches but the man is still super elite and defenses still key in on him , opening up the O for others

Super elite is probably overstating his ability at this point in time.  But he still can be a force for us going forward.  He should have at least one more real good year in him in 2024.  And after that its anybody's guess how much is left in the tank.

I honestly think he wanted to get Michigan a title and he prob doesn’t enjoy the recruiting and restrictions college has. I also think he wants to step aside to give Moore a chance to be the Head guy at Michigan. I honestly think he’s going to the NFL if he gets the right offer

I agree with everything you said about Harbaugh, except letting Sharone Moore be our head coach.  Don't want him running the show.  Very conservative on offense.  Not a good play caller.  And he was crying after we beat Penn State.  Emotion is good.  But bawling on the field after beating a rival, is a little weird in my book.  I would be happy with Jesse Minter taking over as head coach.  (His defensive scheme is top notch.)  And bringing in a new OC with a little more innovation.

agreed. I think he takes it only because of Herbert. but I don’t see it as more attractive than staying at Michigan.

i also think harbaugh has really morphed into a great college coach. Would be curious to see if he can transition back to more of an NFL style coach.

Michigan alumni here.  Harbaugh has created a great culture w the program.  Players love playing for Harbaugh, for the program, for the school, for each other.  Not many enter the portal like a lot of other programs.  We play hard nosed physical football in both sides of the football.  It’s like 1990 all over again.  But it worked.  I hope he is back.  But if he leaves, our DC Jesse Minter should get the job.  He is tremendous.  We have a real tough schedule next year.  And our QB is going pro.  We play Texas Washington Oregon USC and Ohio State.  That maybe tougher than the AFC West.  Lol

Feeling better the closer we get.  I know the Bills still have a sick feeling over their last playoff game vs Cincinnati in the snow.  They are so ready to make that right. Also, the 7 seed won yesterday.  It feels like it would be so against the logical rationale of football to have the other 7 seed pull the upset.  But the Bills still have to play with the intensity light years more than what we saw last January.

We have one more win then the Steelers this year.  They are a tough physical team.  And so are we.  Playoff games should never be easy.  Look at the Bills-Colts game from 3 years ago.  Came down to the end.  If Josh plays well we should win.  But we have only beaten the Chiefs, Chargers, Pats and Dolphins by 3, 2, 6 and 7 pts.  And all 4 games were in doubt in the 4th quarter.  Only the Cowboys' game was a blowout.  But we are battle tested.  So we should prevail.

They are mostly easy to defend on offense once you figure out what they are trying to do in the game.

Defensively they are porous. Bills easily could have had a similar score to the first game if they would have stopped shooting themselves in the foot.

Their defense is not physical.  It’s that simple. They did not want to tackle anyone on KC last night.  Defense is a mindset.  They don’t have it.  We do.

If the offense looks good in the playoffs, keep Brady. If we fall short with the offense still looking average, maybe it’s time for a fresh prospective. He’s done a lot of good things, but this offense struggles mightily without Diggs being elite every game. The Dallas game where Cook went crazy was the exception with someone unexpected stepping up. I don’t think you can replace the elite version of Diggs, but I’m not fully satisfied with how Brady makes use of the roster. I have yet to see Brady or Dorsey use Shakir and Kincaid the way they should be utilized. Allen is elite, we need to put him and his teammates in better positions to succeed.

Diggs is not dominant now.  Whether he is next year remains to be seen.  WR is a young man's position now.  He can be a good possession receiver for us the rest of the year, and hopefully next year as well.  We need to scheme the offense through Shakir and Kincaid and make good use of our RB's not named Latavious Murray.  Hopefully Diggs makes some solid plays when his number is called.  And the same for Davis.  But this is not the same Diggs of his first 3 and a half years playing for us.  The coaches need to know that.  And scheme accordingly.  I would also play Shorter this week, and sit Sherfield.  Guy looks like he has no idea what route he is supposed to run.  How we play this Sunday and hopefully in the playoffs on offense should be a big determining factor on whether Brady returns or not.  Coaching is obviously important.  But you can only do so much with the talent on the roster.

Allen's production this year is equal to or better then previous years with an uptick in INT's and reduction in lost fumbles.  The Bills O remains near the top of the league in offensive stats and the team is playing for an 11 - 6 record and a division title.  Similar to previous season results.  And they're doing this with a collection of offensive skill players that are not as good as those from previous years.

I just don't see the evidence that Allen's off season activities has hurt his game compared to other far more likely explanations of his occasional struggles (coaching changes, injuries, uneven O line play, poor skill player performances, a D that has struggled due to injuries).

One big issue that has impacted Allen IMO is the defenses performance as a result of all the injuries.  Allen gave the Bills the lead with less then 2 minutes to play in 3 of the games they lost.  Had they held the lead in just 2 of those 3 games (playing against very bad Offenses in Denver & NE) the Bills would be 12 - 4.

His accuracy has been off the past 2 games.  He hasn't been terrible.  But certainly not spot on with his ball placement-not even close.  Our receivers do not get much separation if any at times.  But he still has missed some throws that he should make.

If we are going on a run at least to the AFCCG he needs to be better regardless of the pieces around him.  He is the straw that stirs the drink-if you remember that saying from Reggie Jackson w the 1970's New York Yankees I believe.

The 70 point game skewed how people look at Miami.

They're a very average team. The Bills have had a middlin' season also - but at our best, we're a tier above them.

With the injuries they have, there are no excuses on this one. We have to go in there, win the division & get the 2 seed.  You can't hope for a better opportunity, or a more achievable one.

Well said.  I like our chances if Josh plays well.  Which he should-but needs to find his accuracy again.

Our defense was flying around today.  Bernard Douglas and Oliver were awesome.

I think our D has played really hard this year. They will beat up Tua.  Should be a great game.

Like Von, Murray is playing his way to the bench. That drop was really bad.  When he’s in on short yardage, the defense is just waiting for him to run blindly up the gut.

Murray should not play another snap for us.  We got about 6 or 7 solid games out of him early on in the season.  And that's it.  He is done.  Had a very good career.  But there comes a time.  Roll w Cook Johnson and Fournette, and we are very good at the RB position.

As I said in the GDT, Diggs has fallen off the table.  I don’t see how we go into 2024 with him as WR1.  He’s a slot receiver at this point.  We need four new WRs next year.

You said it perfectly.  Shakir is the best we got right now.  Its really shocking what has happened to Diggs' play.  Lets hope our guys find a spark this week.

Allen didn't play well, but he got zero help from anybody not named Shakir or Kincaid today.  He was pressing, and we don't want that.

Our receivers as a group do not get any consistent separation. They also drop a lot of passes.  Sherfield should not be on an NFL field.  He is terrible.  Kincaid and Shakir are our two best threats right now.  Diggs and Davis did not do much today.  And Knox was invisible.  Josh wasn’t great by any stretch.  But the entire receiving corps needs a major overhaul in the offseason.

    You hate Von…… Grow up.

What are you his mother or father?

Its a figure of speech big boy.  Von has had a good career.  But I never loved his game.  More of a Demarcus Ware and Chris Doleman fan to be honest as far as where Von's ranks historically with the best DE's.  But that's one man's opinion.   But what is fact is that Von Miller should not be out on the football field right now.  Maybe next year he will be closer to what he used to be.  But right now he needs to try and get well.  Any other player on the team who was playing w that little effort and effect would not be playing for long.

From my memory- Phillips was always hurt in Az and I don’t remember ever seeing him play.

pretty sure I recall Rousseau playing some inside at the start but I could be wrong.

I think now could be a good time as we might be down a legit 3T (while having 4 1Ts in daquan, Joseph, settle and Poona).  Having Floyd, Von, Aj and Shaq at DE along with Rousseau could allow more versatility.

    just a thought

Von stinks and Phillips can’t play more than 3 games w/o getting hurt.  In the playoffs we will be better w AJ and Poona both playing.  God I hate Von.  I think Bruce Smith w a week of practice could still outplay him right now.

If dolphins and browns win and we clinch playoffs, I think they should rest guys.

If 5 seed is in play you have to go for it. Getting to play the afcs is too valuable.

The Dolphins are not beating the Ravens in Baltimore.

Winning the division in Miami will be the high point of the regular season.  And that momentum will take us to the Super Bowl.

They essentially outlawed hitting the QB and playing bump-and-run coverage on receivers, which is the main reason for the sizable statistical difference.

Exactly.  QB’s used to be just bludgeoned.  Guys came in high and low, and could hit you in the head w impughnity.  And the QB’s never whined.  They just staggered off the field.  Remember Billy Kilmer and Sonny Jurgenson.   They looked drunk the way they moved around on the field.

Qb’s have it easy now.  Easton Stick would have been seriously maimed in the old days.  The way the Bills treated Dak Prescott is as rough as it gets for QB’s in the modern NFL.  Not a lot of mean gratuitous violence.  But Josh would have been a baller in any era.  Mahomes would have been cheap shotted whenever possible for all his whining.  Was hoping someone on the Raiders would absolutely drill him late on the sideline today.  Lol

I mean, who cares?  We did enough to win.  A win is a win.  I would not say Josh sucked yesterday except the final drive. He had almost 72% completions 237 1TD passing and 2 more TDs running.  Did he miss some passes and throw an INT?  Yeah.  Thats not sucking though. Thats missing some passes and throwing an INT.  All qbs do that.  The oline is what sucked yesterday. Allowing pressure, causing penalties on big plays and killing drives.

This type of thing happens when you are on a short week and have to travel across the country and are playing basically a new team because there are no tendencies with a new coach and unknown QB.  As for the defense, I think you are too hard on them considering the players we are missing and further got banged up in this game plus turning the ball over 3 times to them.  The defense kept them kicking fgs all game except one TD drive.  On top of all that the refs were obviously one sided making every tacky call against us but not calling them for the same *****.

You can say we are lucky and think that.  I don't really care.  Dont tell me what to think.

Great point on the refereeing.  On the Charger TD.  Poona Ford was blatantly held as Stick ran around the right side.  The calls were very one sided.  Just like in London against the Jags.  And in Philly against the Eagles.  But we won on a nice drive at the end of the game.  And the defense played well w a lot of injuries.

We don’t really have a #1 WR anymore because Diggs can not consistently beat DB’s down the field.  He can still play.  But not dominate.  And Kincaid has been put into mothballs.   But this is a resilient tough team regardless.  And will be a tough out the rest of the season.  Especially if the O line plays at a high level.

The Chargers played about as well as they could today considering their available personnel. I wasn’t surprised. What did surprise me was how badly the Bills played today, considering their personnel. Bills were lucky to escape today considering all their mistakes.

Bills defense played well.  They gave  up one TD on the road.  The TO's were bad.  (Harty brings nothing to the team and is wasting a roster spot.)  And the penalties on Brown and Morse were like a 4th TO.  That being said, we still made some big plays and were the better team.  Diggs has become a possession receiver who can't get by guys deep so much anymore.  He seems beat up, and weary.  But ran some good routes in crunch time to make some important catches.  Need more from Kincaid down the field.  But Its Christmas weekend.  And we had to fly across country and play on a short week coming off two very big emotional wins.  Lets enjoy the win.  And now we control our destiny to the playoffs.  I like our chances going forward regardless of how close this game was.

Was Kincaid ever really a difference maker at any point this year?

That's a very fair point.  I think Kincaid has not been utilized the right way for most of the year.  He has wheels and can get down the field.  And we have not thrown much to him vertically.  He has not been nearly the impact guy he was at Utah.  And compared to Sam LaPorta he has not matched up.  I like his game.  But I think an offseason in the weight room will help him be a more physical player that is needed as a TE in the NFL.

  21. 24 minutes ago, MikePJ76 said:

I think it was fine.  The chargers are bigger up font than dallas and they were getting pressure and causing allen to move off his spot repeatedly.   He still managed to make that great throw to shakir on the third down with three guys after him.

throwing the ball 20 to 25 times a game is the perfect mix.  Had he had time to setup he would have had diggs for a td and he would have had one of those big number days.  They don't matter anymore.

The QB's job as John Elway always said was to make plays on 3rd down and in the redzone.  Josh continually does that.  The formula is perfect right now.  We just need Diggs to hit a few big plays.

Great point about what Elway said.  That’s why Guys like Derek Carr suck.  They choke in big moments and take sacks, throw picks and miss key throws when it matters. Josh is a beast.  The throw to Shakir on the final drive was awesome.

Winning when -3 in TO’s on the road is huge.  Also the two penalties in a row on Brown and Morse were awful.  That was like a 4th TO.

The defense stepped up when it had to.  And only allowed 1 TD.

We are 9-6.  If we can get rid of the turnovers, we will be very tough to beat the rest of the season.

And does anything think Von Miller makes a play the rest of the season?  He is rushing like he is 55 years old.
