  1. In thinking about today's game, and the season in general, I think the what will impress me most and give me hope today is if the Bills come out and shut down the run without selling out 8 or 9 guys in the box. In the case of the KC game, if we hold them to under 100 yeard rushing, it will be a good sign. It will show that these Bills saw a hole in themselves and plugged it. Dareus and Barnett may be the keys to making this happen. What do you want the Bills to show that will impress you the most?
  2. A player can only show his value if he can make it out to the field. Easley hasn't shown he can. I agree that I'm not going to be missing him as we've never really had him. You can't miss what you don't have. I'll wait until he shows me someting in a meaningful content, not a practice or practice game.
  3. I have to agree. I really hoped he would develop, but like McCargo I think he's achieved his peak and it's not good enough. He may make a play rarely, but when he doesn't, he is no factor at all and doesn't help the team. We are fortunatle to have Dareus -- he will make many plays.
  4. On Defense, I think it will be Danny Batten when he gets on the field. Early in the season Kelsay, who I don't like to bash, will see less time on the field and Batten more. On Offense I think that Parish could be the guy, but I also think Gailey likes the big wideouts and that will limit his chances. The other guy I think will step up is Scott Chandler Just my opinion
  5. I'm probably going to be up there savaging some golf courses on opening weekend and I'll be with some fellas that will not miss the Stillers/Ravens game. Anybody know if the Double Diamond, Balloons, Madigan's, the Depot or anybody else carries the ticket up there on Sunday afternoons? I've been to the Ellicottville Brewing Co -- it is nice and has good beer -- not sure about the Sunday Ticket. Here is the website: Ellicottville Brewing Co
  6. In Northern Virginia: Jimmy's Old Town Tavern 697 Spring St Herndon, VA 703-435-JIMS (5467)
  7. Well, I guess the Bills are all set at QB now. We've signed Tyler Thigpen and Trevor Harris. Thigpen couldn't play with the Dolphins, who were worse than most every team at QB and Harris couldn't start in the Arena Football League. I know Fitzy is our QB and I wasn't expecting to sign anyone of significance, but really -- these guys?
  8. It never hurts to take a look ad we should have two puters and two kickers in camp, even if the Bills don't want to make a change. My guess is this guy is camp fodder, but you never know
  9. I called a while back to get my reduced rate. They offered $10 a month credit for a year, which for me wasn't enough. I asked for more and they didn't blink so I canceled. It surprised me that they did not make a better offer. I may call one more time. The only reason i still have DirecTV is for the Sunday Ticket. I have FIOS running into the house for my Internet and phone -- I may go the complete route for them. Maybe I'll use that line when i call back.
  10. Poz is not as good as London Fletcher. If I were to rate on a 1 to 10 scale with 10 being great, then Poz is a 5 and Fletcher a 7. Fletcher has shown he can cover TE's & RB's out of the backfield -- Poz never will. Fletcher moves all over the fleid much better than Poz.
  11. Wide receiver along now with D-Tackle are probably the positions of least need for the Bills. Don't spend time loking there for a FA. If you are looking for a FA thry the folowing positions: O-Tackle Tight-End (likely no one there to find) Linebacker Back-up QB Money would be better spent in any of these areas.
  12. Tim was a good man and a die hard Bills fan. More than that, he was a Buffalo fan - he thought alot of the city! He is missed. I really enjoyed his book and the Buffalo references when he was growing up.
  13. I am glad to see that, at least from one source, the Bills are not on the list of teams being targetted for LA. Now, if there was only some assurance they also aren't targeted for Toronto I'd be all set. 5 team identified
  14. Best tongue in cheek write-up I've seen in a while. You did mean this sarcastically -- right? If not, please get help now -- drinking is a serious disease and it's obvious you have a drinking problem if you believe this.
  15. I wish I was able to get that deal. They offered me just $10 per month off my bill for 1 year which would have only brought be dow to about $205 for the season which wasn't low enough and i would have had to wait to year to get the full credit. I could not get them down any lower so I ended up dropping the Auto-Renewel. If I decide I do want it and if there is a season, I'll callback in aand see what deal I can get. I think they are going to find alot of cancelations this year. The good thought is that if I don't want toe Sunday Ticket anymore, that was the only thing keeping me with Direct TV and I can now swithc ot FIOS if I want to -- I already have them for phone & internet.
  16. I would say Troy Aikman -- He had a great HOF career, but his 10 concussions ended his career prematurely
  17. Well said! The Juice was a game changer. There was no other offensive option on the Bills teams when he played. I am not dissing Thurman, but it's the Juice.
  18. Yeah --Ii called last year and got quite a bit taken off (about $100) the subscription price. Let's face it, $325 is alot for thisproduct, when you can see football for free every week. I have been a subscriber for over 5 years now and will likely renew if they give me a discount, but if they don't, it'll probably be bye - bye. If that happens, I'll miss watching the Bills (in Virginia where I live they will be on almost never), but I'll survive. These past few years it's been difficult watching the team and it's bad play. Who knows if the NFL will even play this year.
  19. The guy doing this rating loses alot of credibility when he rates Mike Shanahan a 7.5 in coaching and Dan Snyder a 5 as an owner. The redskins will be one of the worst teams in the NFL this year -- worse than the Bills. The reasons for that will be the owner, coach, and staff. Ralph may not be the best owner, but he is more than a 1, at least to Bills fans.
  20. Sounds like this guy has it in for Buddy. I am one who believe that Marcell Dareus will excel for the Bills. I am not as positive abut Von Miller. I think it'll be interesting when the Bills 3rd round choice, Kelvin Sheppard, out plays Miller (of course I am an incurable optimist)
  21. # 13 --- definitely If, on a 20 degree day with 10 mph winds, and the snow flying, that "It's good weather for game today -- I think this gives us an advantage" you might be a Bills fan.
  22. I have two Kelly jersies - One with sewn on numbers and one silk screened (got as a gift). It sounds like you got a great deal on yours regardless of how the numbers are put one
  23. Some nice Fall fishing should fill the time just fine. Then there's baseball - don't the baseball playoffs run up thru Thaksgiving now
  24. I might add Rian Lindell to this list. He didn't get as many opportunities as most teams kickers, but he has been a consistent force for the Bills.
  25. I got to go with Maybin as the #1 non-producer last year. Couldnot even contribute on special teams. I agree Kelsay was a bust as a 3-4 LB, but I blame the coaches for playing him there and the front office for resigning him to a big contract when they knew the Bills were moving to a 3-4. Green was a waste of money and of no help. Nelson was hurt so I'll pass on him. How about CJ Spiller for being far below expectations. Granted he had a couple of highlight reel TDs, but he was so far below what was expected, I'd add him to the list. He has time to show his worth. Trent Edwards was as big a bust as anyone, given that he was awarded the starting job (did not earn it) and was cut early in the season -- he could be #2.
