  1. They have exceeded my expectations as well. I thought we would only win 5 games all year. Rome wasn't built in a day
  2. The Bills start a tough November swing this Sunday against the hated Jets. In November they have the Jets twice, the Cowpokes, and fortunately the "Suck for Luck" Dolphins. 3 of those games are on the road. It's a tough stretch and one the Bills will hopefully come out of 3-1. If they go 3-1 they will be in good shape for a playoff slot. That said, here are some of what I feel are the keys the the Bills against the NJ Jets: 1. Pressure Mark Sanchez -- the Jets receivers (Holmes, Burress, & Kellar) are much better than what they faced last week against the Skins and if Sanchez has time, he will connect on some deep balls. With the exception of the Skins game, the Bills DB's have not shown the ability to shut down receivers so we need to pressure Sanchez in order to force quick, inaccurate throws. 2. Run the Ball - The Jets have been stout against the pass (hate to say it, but Revis is a true shut down corner), but can be run on. The Jets "D" will over-pursue so maybe some misdirection with runs will work. 3. Use screen passes & the tight end -- The Bills run a great screen pass and it can be effective against the Jets. Additionally, Chandler can help move the chains with short passes if he is used. 4. Make the Jets drive the length of the field, no turnovers, no long passes -- If the Jets have to have long, multiplay drives to score I believe somewhere along the way Sachez will screw it up. IMO - if the Bills can do these things, we come away with a victory. Go Bills!!!
  3. Nice assessment. Living in Skins land I get to see them some when they aren't on opposite the Bills and hear about them alot. Beck is better than Grossman and will only get a little better as time goes on. What I saw this past week was that he thru alot of passes on timing regardless of anything which will mean that if we can fool him with coverage, we will be able to pick off some passes. We do need to watch out for the tight end as we don't have a great track record stopping tight ends and Davis is their best option. Cooley is out which will help, which will help. We have to run the ball. The Skins pass rush is real and if we have to pass because we have alot of third and long we will be in trouble. Finally, all the talk here is that this game is "critical" to the Skins season and they will play like it. Discussions are that Shanahan's autonomy is on the line if he has another bad season. The Skins are not a great team, but they will be able to beat the Bills if they get ahead of them early. The Bills have to take the lead in the 1st half and make th skins come back. If that happens, I see a couple of picks happening and a Bills victory.
  4. I like toe matc h-up for the Bills here. The quick passing game will negate the pass rush somewhat and the Skins pass defense is not that good. The Bills "D" will need to stop the ru, which is something i am worried abouot. The Bills should run for 150 yards against the Skins so i see a Bills win -- 27-17
  5. Martin is on the roster for his special teams work, something Owens would not be doing
  6. Of those mot mentioned: Phil Hanson and Mark Kelso come to mind for me from the more recent Bills. Harry Jacobs and Billt Shaw come to mind from the old time Bills
  7. As they say -- "Come on Man". It doesn't mean a hill of beans what draft position the Bills are in after 6 weeks. Last time I checked it was a 16 game season and the positions don't get set till after that (except the last two positions which are after the Super Bowl). I am enjoying watching these Bills WIN SOME GAMES and don't give a hoot about where our draft position is.
  8. I think that it is a good time for the bye week for the Bills. They have alot of dinged up players. I have not heard anything about the recoveries of some of our injured players - anyone got anything on these guys: - D. Bell - D. Jones - S. Meriman (not sure how critical this one is) - C. Hairston - C. Kelsay We need one of the Left Tackles back as well as Jones.
  9. I am right with you K-9. Having DB with high tackle numbers means one of three things to me: 1. The front 7 arenot doing their jobs and the DBs must tackle after a significant run. (need to look at how many yeards past the line of scrimmage the tackles are to clarify) 2. Too many passes are being completed and the DBs are nt breaking up enough (need to look at the percentage completed against the Bills to understand better. In addition if the length of the pass in total tards in under 5-7 yards then the DBs are doing the jb of holding receivers in YAC (tards after catch) 3. The DB's are making quick reads and getting up and stopping plays quickly. This would be good and you need more stats to see if it is true. Overall, I'd like to see DBs with pass break-ups and not tackles. I do like all the other stats.
  10. Thanks guys -- great info! I may gibe the PB Ale house a try! I was not aware of the link for where gamers are going to be shown -- that info is priceless.
  11. I'm going to be in San Diego this weekend and was wondering if there was a place there Bills fans go to watch (and also has the sound on) the games? It'll be 10:00 west coast time when the Bills-Eagles game starts so I'm not sure what places are open. I sent a note to the SD Bills Backers, but did not get a response yet.
  12. I can not agree more. Levitre played really well yesterday and the line as a whole was one of the reasons the Bills won yesterday. I don't remem ber any sacks yesterday against Fitz. Hats off to the line
  13. I saw some explosiveness from Merriman in the preseason. Where is it now? Kelsey is outplaying him - it's not even close. Am I missing something or is he done?
  14. The Bills need another DB. Leo is has athletic skills, but no DB skills. He can stay with a wideout, but doesn't know what to do when the ball is thrown
  15. I was worried as I changed it up this week. Fishing in the morning and I skipped the Bills gear this week. This team does not need supersticious things. They could use another DB though
  16. It looks like Martin can help on special teams, but not as much at wideout. We will need another choice. Hope that can be roosevelt
  17. Why does everyone care what Lee Evans does> He's not a Bill now so he's dead to me. Do you care what Marshawn Lynch does? He's dead to me too.
  18. Agree. That was the right choice. We get the ball to start second half
  19. I love that Zorn is helping call plays for KC. He was not able to do that well in Washington
