On NFL.COM Bills hall of famers Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas attended the news conference. Both are familiar with Nix, whose stint in Buffalo overlapped their careers. And both said they are willing to assist Nix in whatever capacity, with Thomas saying he has been asked to serve in some type of scouting role.

He may have included your boy.

Tim Graham "Could Nix sway Schottenheimer to Bills?"

From Vic Carucci............. Current New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, Marty's son, can also be expected to get strong consideration for the Bills' coaching position, NFL Network's Michael Lombardi reports, as the Bills are strongly considering a bright, young offensive mind to rebuild their team. -

Buddy Nix quotes.... Buddy Nix From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Buddy Nix (born December 6, 1939) is currently the Director of College Scouting for the Buffalo Bills[1]. He previously was employed by the Bills from 1993-2000. From 2001 until mid 2008 he was the Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel for the San Diego Chargers. There were conflicting news reports on why Nix left. These include 1) that he had retired, and 2) that he had resigned and was open to seeking another Front Office position with another NFL team. Nix was quoted as saying that he was going to play golf, but was open to other offers from other teams.[2]. Nix was born in Carbon Hill, Alabama where he later attended Talladega High School and played linebacker and fullback at Livingston University. Nix also had a successful college football coaching career. Nix's job with the Chargers was to oversee both pro and college scouting and to be one of the main decision makers in each NFL Draft. Nix was a major reason the Chargers turned around from a losing football team to a rebuilt, winning team. Number of San Diego Chargers Pro Bowl Players drafted under Nix: 2004 3 Pro Bowlers 2005 6 Pro Bowlers 2006 11 Pro Bowlers 2007 8 Pro Bowlers Nix is considered by some to be one of the top 5 talent evaluators in the NFL. The Chargers have won 4 out of the last 5 AFC West Titles with Nix as Assistant GM and Director of Player Personnel, in charge of college scouting and instrumental to the decision making process of their NFL drafts. Nix's career has spanned from star college player and award winning college football coach, to scouting in the NFL for the Bills and finally as a Front Office Executive with the Chargers. Nix came to the Chargers with John Butler and A. J. Smith from the Buffalo Bills where those three Front Office Executives were instrumental in building the Buffalo Bills into NFL contention through the NFL Draft. Butler died during the Chargers rebuilding years, Smith was promoted to General Manager, and Nix to Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel. Nix was rumoured to have been on the short list of candidates for the position of General Manager of the Atlanta Falcons, but he was not offered the position. Back to Fitz on Sunday? 11:32AM ET Ryan Fitzpatrick | Bills Top Email Ryan Fitzpatrick was not able to play in this past Sunday's game for the Buffalo Bills, and this was the primary reason why Brian Brohm got the nod. Brohm had a rough start, but "got better as the game went on," according to what interim head coach Perry Fewell told the Buffalo News. But with Fitzpatrick's health improving, will the Bills go back to him as the starter? That's the move being debated in Buffalo right now, and it will have a lot to do with how he looks in practice this week. The other issue in the debate is whether it's worthwhile to see more of Fitzpatrick -- who doesn't project to being a true No. 1 NFL QB -- or to give Brohm another chance at becoming the QB of the future. ---------------------------------- Tim Graham Brohm and Fitz on equal ground? "Next to nothing should be read into his performance. Brohm was signed off the Green Bay Packers' practice squad barely a month ago and had been running the scout team in practice. Brohm didn't begin practicing with the first team until Wednesday. But his numbers weren't any worse than what Fitzpatrick has posted lately."

Mike Sando Would the Seahawks go for Cowher? "Firing [head coach Jim] Mora after one season would not be fair. The Seahawks shouldn't make a move unless they can find someone demonstrably better. Bill Cowher comes to mind. He would be better than just about anyone the Seahawks could hope to hire. The early speculation says Carolina and Tampa Bay are the most likely suitors for Cowher if the former Steelers coach returns to the NFL in 2010, as expected. But if the Seahawks could land Holmgren a decade ago -- and the feeling around team headquarters was surreal when it happened -- why not Cowher?"

What exactly are Parcels' WNY ties? He grew up in Northern New Jersey. Charlie Weis also hails from the Garden State..... That being said, I'd love Parcells to be our GM.

We Stole it from Howard University. http://www.thehilltoponline.com/sports/tak...-bison-1.463358 Howard University's bison logo is one that is waived high and worn proudly. According to facilities manager Isaac Darden who has been a part of the Howard community for about 40 years, John Dupri a former Howard alumnus, who majored in art and member of the football team drew a version of the bison crest for Howard. His artistic creation did not go unnoticed but instead was coveted. It was so highly favored that the professional football team the Buffalo Bills took the design for their own. Since Howard did not have the logo copyrighted, it was lost to the Bills. http://www.howard.edu/newsroom/standardsma...HU_ENTITIES.pdf
