The bills should run the same D they ran against New England on Monday night against everyone, they would have crushed KC, Philly, Houston, etc.
Seems logical to me too. Remember how mad Brady was on the sidelines. We need to bring that pressure to all the games and quit playing the fancy complicated finesse defense that apparently Rex loves.
-
He gave himself up. Play over.
-
Agree. The guy called a good game against a pretty good defense. Needs to keep it up.
-
People forget how good he was the last couple of years. He was accurate and consistent. Don't know what his problem is right now but it's probably a mental thing. I'd keep him for sure. He'll figure it out.
-
Very easy - Is this a must win for the Bills? Do they desperately need this win to stay alive for a playoff spot?
If the answer is no - the Bills win 24 to 22.
If the answer is yes - they lose 31-17.
-
I don't like Rex, he killed our promising defense.

This should have come as no surprise about Rex and it was the biggest point of trepidation I had in the immediate wake of the hire.
He's the Babe Ruth of coaches: all or none. Big home runs, lots of strikeouts.
Sadly, he's been low on dingers this year.
I think there will be defensive personnel changes this offseason that make Bills Nation squirm. It may even get worse before it gets better.
But if you went into this season for a second thinking that Rex Ryan would have his team playing balanced, focussed, intelligent football, consistently, you were a fool.
OK, I'm a fool

Love to hear their explanation of the Hogan non-catch. He must not have made enough football moves after securing the ball. Unbelievable......

Did the wheels come off?

I'd like to see Tyrod distribute the ball better. Seems like we have whole games where Watkins and/or Woods and/or Clay are pretty much ignored. let's see some slants, screens and play action. Also less emphasis on running the same darn play on first down.....We have a good chance to win but the offense needs to take a step up.
-
Roman is not a good offensive coordinator. I would seriously rather have Chan Gailey as offensive coordinator. He knew how to spread the ball around and open up an offense.
-
We all know that the 3rd and 21 illegal contact penalty is coming. We just have to overcome it and not compound it with an additional 15 for unsportsmanlike conduct.
yeah and the questionable call will be on the opposite side of the field and have nothing to do with the play
-
He runs east west a lot, has no vision, goes down on first contact and isn't durable at all. His only skill is speed in the open field with the ball - that's it.
-
I watched the ending of his last game and he seemed very much in control and at ease. He stepped back in the pocket and threw darts right on the receivers chests in stride. Thought the Patriots looked like a well-oiled machine. See no drop off in his abilities whatsoever at this point.

EJ looks to me like a QB with a real confidence problem. He's over thinking things and has a tendency to aim some of his passes instead of letting them fly. You can see this on some of his easier and shorter throws where he doesn't trust himself and misses badly. His mechanics change and It almost looks like he's shot putting the ball. This inconsistency compounds itself.
The pass on fourth down at the end of the game was not a well thrown pass as he was trying to be too careful with the ball and actually lobbed the pass, giving the defender ample time to react and knock it down. A QB with confidence steps back and fires the ball to the receiver.

Never understood the Percy hiring. Was very surprised when they brought him in considering his background. To me it was an over the top signing.
-
Orton was pretty good the first few games until Marrone and Hacksaw got a hold of him.
-
If Rex is such a defensive genius then why hasn't he seen this by himself? It seems that everybody else sees the problem but him. Hope he changes the defense back to what it was. Needs to look at last years schemes and put them back into play.
-
i think most of us agree that its not the losses that hurt so much but the way we lose. i wasn't expecting them to beat Cincinnati but was expecting a much better performance, especially by the defense. its the play of the defense as compared to the last 2 years that hurts the most. rex promised a better defense than last year and he really let us down big time. wasn't expecting too much from the offense and any little improvement was a big plus but for the defense to play as it has is disheartening.

If they lose to Jacksonville I'd fire Whaley, and Rex & Thurman. Hire Schwartz as interm head coach and leave Roman as OC. I know that's pretty aggressive, but we have the best roster in the NFL and can barley get out of our own way.. Clearly the players are depressed, and I think Buffalo is growing sick of Rex.. Honeymoons over, win or get the heck out of town..
i'm on board with this plan
-
He hurt the ankle planting on a cut to get open in the EZ. Watch the play. He was going to go to the ground after the catch even if it hit him in the numbers. He was injured before the catch.
that's what i saw too
-
I remember his first rib injury in the first game he played, It looked like he was barely touched. I'm convinced he's too fragile for the NFL. Both him and Goodwin.
-
Maybe, maybe not. I'm of the opinion that if you hire a coach you give him 3 years. Otherwise you're just getting yourself into a cycle of never having any continuity. You see the effects of this with the Bills the last 15 years. Everybody wants to easy fix and if it doesn't come with one guy, bring in another! It's a tiresome cycle that many here are wanting to repeat right now. After 6 games (and a .500 record) you already have people wanting to fire the HC.
when a new coach comes in and turns a top tier defense into a dumpster fire because of a new junk scheme, then its time to make a change. If the new coach can't change then its time to search for another coach.
Bills cannot go forward with Rex

Sad but this is the Buffalo way. They'll keep Rex because of his contract. He'll destroy this roster in the process trying to get players to fit his scheme. We will lose again next year because his tactics and schemes are no good. Then he will be fired and our roster will be garbage. Then we rebuild again.
If there is any way possible, we need to fire Rex at the end of this year and try to find a coach who can keep and work with the current roster.
