Bills will win if they DON'T play not to lose.
freeagentqb replied to JohninMinn.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Be honest, if the Bills somehow manage to get a lead in this game, will you have any faith that they will be able to maintain or increase such lead? Beware the 14 point lead - it's the kiss of death. -
Renewed Hope for a Win Sunday.....

How do we pull the impossible and beat the Pats?

I don't see any way of winning this game unless Brady gets hurt very early on. Then we have a chance, a very slim chance.... -

Bottom line -- We need to play jauron ball the whole game. Keep Brady off the field for as long as possible. Eat lots of clock. Establish the run. Defense needs to blitz alot and be aggressive. That way we'll only lose by 15-20 points. -

If the Bills decide to rush only 4 and no blitzes. might as well just rush 2 and put everybody else in coverage. Think gronk will get open for many easy catches and its guaranteed he'll get at least 1 touchdown on us, seems like he always does. -

Well. we haven't produced much pressure with a four man rush, Brady does well when blitzed and he also does pretty good when not pressured. So, my vote would be to blitz and get as much pressure as possible. Think it's the only way we can be competitive as Brady is too accurate and smart to let him study the field in his leisure. He'll complete passes like its practice. -
Tom Brady insane stat
freeagentqb replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The best we can hope for is a competitive loss. If Brady wants, he'll hang 30+ points on us by halftime and the game'll be over. Think our best bet is to play Jauron ball, bleed the clock and keep Brady off the field for as long as possible. No shootouts, please or it'll get ugly. -

Very hard task ahead. If I'm coaching I would try to get as much pressure on Brady as possible. If blitzing is needed then I would blitz, damn the statistics. If you give Brady time, he will assuredly pick us apart all day long with their dinky pick plays and his accurate passes. To me, pressure is the key and if I recall correctly, we won a game once and the key was pressure from the get go. Don't have much to say for the offense as they are what they are. Expect one TD or two if we get lucky and a couple of field goals plus whatever the defense can provide via good field position or turnovers. In the end, Brady will prove to be too much, their supporting cast will shine and beat us 35- 13. It will be over at the half. Hope I'm wrong -

Is the media the problem here?
freeagentqb replied to freeagentqb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, a lot of passionate replies to my posting. In hindsight, I probably should have said that the negative media is not THE cause of the Bills woes but a contributor to it. So much second-guessing and over the top criticism just adds fuel to the fire. You know some of the players see and hear all the negatism , Another thing I notice is various message boards are very quiet after a win but god forbid if they lose, everyone is jumping on board with criticism of every little thing. Just an observation...... -
Fantastic writeup. Read every word and got a lot of insight and I've been following the Bills since 1960. Great job. I can recall seeing an early play where it was 3rd and short for a first down. The screen showed the Charger receiver on the right side with a Bill at least 7 yards off the line. Rivers got the snap and fired the ball to him. Naturally, the receiver was wide open and he got the needed yardage very easily. What was the Bill thinking or what scheme was run to leave the receiver wide open? (Rhetorical question)

The DEFENSE has simply quit - my question is WHY?

The DEFENSE has simply quit - my question is WHY?
freeagentqb replied to Socal-805's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah to say they're just not good enough doesn't explain the first seven games when they were good enough. What happened to the good defensive play and players to make them historically very bad - overnight. Just a total collapse - why? -

freeagentqb replied to Socal-805's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's a real mystery. I can't believe the reason is teams have figured us out after 7 games. Also Dareus wasn't playing that often or that well prior to the trade. To go from very good to very bad very quickly is really puzzling. -

freeagentqb replied to freeagentqb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I thought I was on to something - guess not. I'll let myself out........ -
Trying to figure out what our problems are. Bills and Sabres - many, many different players, coaches and staff and schemes, etc. We still lose in spite of all these changes and still have a fragile loser mentality which seems to snowball at any hint of adversity. What is the constant or common denominator? - Maybe, just maybe the constant in all of this is the constant negative media and coverage that continually pick at any sore wound. I'm starting to believe its affecting all of us and our teams with a not good enough, never win, here we go again attitude. Negativity reigns supreme. Just my humble opinion.

I was totally and absolutely wrong on the strength of our defense. Thought they were going to be much better under the new regime. Never ever thought they would be as terrible as they have shown in the last three games. It makes no sense how far they have fallen. I guess other teams have figured them out and know all of our weaknesses.

I absolutely feel that way every monday following a loss. Come Sunday, I'm right in front of the TV watching till the very end. And so it goes until the Bills or I am non-existent.

Should the Pegulas Cash Out?
freeagentqb replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think there's a lot of luck in finding a quality Czar as well as in finding a quality coach. Don't believe there's a foolproof guide for doing that. Hell, If we brought Belihick here, he might fall on his face with our team less Brady. -
Should the Pegulas Cash Out?
freeagentqb replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What puzzles me is: Golisano had a pretty good team at times even though he was inexperienced and very frugal with spending. The Rigas's had a pretty good team even though they too were inexperienced and frugal. The Pegulas may be inexperienced as well, but definitely not frugal. Why can't they do better than Golisano or Rigas? -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Ramblings of a Madman
freeagentqb replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Except playing tight is what TT appears to have been doing since he got here. At least to me anyway. I like Peterman and he looked good while completing his first three passes especially the laser to Kelvin, a pass Tyrod rarely if ever throws. The first int went off the hands of the fullback and returned for six. Another int was miscommunication when peterman threw long and the receiver cut out short. At least one and possibly two were caused when he was hit when throwing. I'd put Peterman in again with a carefully scripted set of initial plays to help his confidence and see if he can be salvaged. -
Longtime NFL Scout Says Taylor Is "Below Average QB"

I remember that game as well and felt the same way. He became captain checkdown that game. I remember thinking he's got to be terrified to throw down field and risk another interception. -
Please explain the touchdown pass catching rules
freeagentqb replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the call was complicated because both players were grabbing the ball which somehow nullified the 3 steps taken in the end zone. Then he gets possession out of bounds, takes 2 more steps, falls and loses the ball. Unbelievable, should have been ruled a catch. Simultaneous possession goes to the receiver so the 3 steps in the end zone = touchdown. Falling down 2 steps out of bounds is irrelevant. This was a bad call, period.
