  1. I'll reserve judgement until I see where both QBs top out in their development. If I had to choose right now I'd say I'd rather have Mahomes than Allen+Tre, but Allen was a raw QB when drafted and is still developing (for that matter, so is Mahomes.) If Allen keeps progressing I'll be fine with the trade.
  2. Yeah, the Bills should definitely be in the top 3 but given the Bills' recent success and the fact that the Browns haven't made the playoffs in 17 years (and only once since their team came back) I'd go with the Browns on this one. For the team with the most miserable fan base I feel pretty F'n happy right now and was ecstatic two seasons ago.
  3. I think if you're going to compare stats from two different areas you need to show how much above average, for their era, that the QB was. So instead of comparing Brees to Marino, compare them to the averages of their era and see which one was more elite in their time. Given the rules changes that favor the passing game a direct comparison isn't exactly the best way of doing it.
  4. Even if a fan doesn’t think Allen is the guy, why the hostility? Someone has to agree with you to not be attacked? And I don’t disagree with you opinion of Allen just the way you debate your position. Just don’t see the point of attacking people who haven’t attacked you or who have a different take than you.
  5. There’s a difference between, “there’s no such thing as being absolutely safe” and “it makes no difference what you do.” Playing football poses a bigger risk of injury than sitting on the sideline. If you don’t understand that I don’t know what to tell you. You’re argument is utterly ridiculous. I’m sure those who are debating this issue and are on your side would prefer it if you sat this one out.
  6. They missed 16 tackles vs the Pats. They also missed 16 tackles vs the Steelers. In fact, the Bills D has the 2nd most missed tackles in the NFL was his season. It’s been an issue for awhile.
  7. Yep, there’s no way to sit all the starters, most of them have to play. Allen on the other hand... Tre White too, Id like to see both those guys sit.
  8. When they don’t work the ball is never thrown. The QB isn’t throwing the ball unless the OL is WIDE open.
  9. Yeah, after going the entire year without back to back losses do they really want that as they enter the playoffs? At the same time I’d like to rest the starters. Hopefully the backups can pull out the W.
  10. That offense is a totally different monster with Fuller on the field. Trying to contain Hopkins, Fuller and Stills is a nightmare. As the Bills know, it’s much easier to stop an offense with just two legit weapons on the passing game.
  11. Exactly, Titans have an okay shot at winning in KC whereas Pit has no shot. If they win the 6 seed automatically goes to Baltimore for the division round which would put the Bills back in NE, a much more desirable 2nd round game. Steelers getting in doesn’t help the Bills at all.
  12. I thought I read 10M for Edmunds and Dawkins and 27M total for White and Milano.
  13. Just read it, not bad but you’re undervaluing what kind of contracts these players will demand Imo. Tre will get $17M minimum. Milano will get $12-13M. Dawkins and Edmunds will both get north of $10m. I think you’re about right for the safeties. They have to make a decision on Spain too. He is on a one year deal. Maybe Long takes over, maybe not. Beane will reserve $10M for draft picks and prob another $5 or so for injury replacements and such during the season. It all starts adding up and suddenly you don’t have enough for everybody and FAs.
  14. They simply don’t have the space for all those players. I know it looks like they have a ton of room but they have a lot of contracts coming up. Im not going to get I to all the specifics because it would take a long ass time but there are several sites and podcasts that have laid out what’s coming up and it will be difficult to sign both Shaq and Phillips much less adding another expensive FA in addition. They’re going to have to make some choices. Personally I think they let both Shaq and Phillips walk because they have both likely priced themselves out of contracts that accurately reflect their play on the field. Both are good players but neither deserves a huge contract but both will likely get one somewhere. I’d be all for canning Murphy and giving his money to Shaq if he’d take it, I’m not sure he would though. Id love to see them take a run at Ngakoue though. He is a DE who is worth a big contract.
  15. All 17 point games are not created equally. If the O picked up first downs and held the ball and punted continually pinning the opposing offense deep in their territory yet only scored 17 points, while not great, you can work with that. Barely moving the ball, barely holding the ball and scoring only on a short field from a TO and two big plays isn’t going to win you many games. That said, I know how people on this board like to blame one side of the ball or the other, that’s not what I’m doing. Both the O and D who horrible last night. If not for two fantastic throws (and one great catch) the Bills would have been run out of the building.
  16. In general pass rushers are harder to find outside of round 1 while plenty of WRs drafted in the 2nd make an impact. That said, you can’t approach the draft like that. If a guy doesn’t have value in a round you can’t reach for him because he plays a position you covet. These are defiantly the two biggest areas of need on the team though.
  17. Why do we have to blame one side of the ball or the other. Neither were good last night. Both share a large portion of the blame. The D was a bigger disappointment because we expect way more from them but the O was putrid outside of two big throws.
  18. Yeah, find another team if I don’t blindly just ignore bad play. ?? I’m sorry if you can’t acknowledge both good and bad play by your favorite team. It doesn’t mean the rest of us have to do the same.
  19. Why does it have to be binary? Both the O and D heavily contributed to the loss yesterday. I’m more disappointed in the D because I expect more from them but the O was, once again, putrid for most of the game. Two big plays don’t erase the rest of the game.
  20. Pats have had the worst offense in the league since week 9 in terms of yards per play. Their passing offense has been non existent and their rushing offense middling. The Bills’ D got gashed anyway. At some point the Bills’ offense needs to step up against a decent defense. They’ll be one and done in the playoffs if they can’t put up more than 17.
  21. Pats played a top 5 D last night. How’d that turn out for them?
  22. My enjoyment (or lack thereof) of a game is always directly tied to my emotions. I guess you’re able to step outside yourself and enjoy the game on a metaphysical level. Congratulations.
  23. I do. I’m going to assume that if I do then other Bills’ fans feel the same. If some others don’t that’s fine, but I’d like to send Brady limping into retirement having lost his last game to the Bills in a big spot.
  24. I said 40%. He is a true boom or bust prospect. If he puts it all together and the game slows down for him and he learns to dissect defenses while continuing to work on his footwork he will be a stud. If it doesn’t all come together I see a frustrating QB who wows us on occasion but drives us crazy with his inconsistencies more often than not. I do love that he is a willing student and truly seems able to take coaching and improve but I have my doubts that he’ll ever put it all together.
  25. Yeah, I’m excited about the playoff birth but I think that Brady has one regular season game left with the Pats. I wanted to beat that team in their place before he left. Maybe I’m wrong and he stays and we get another shot but I have my doubts. And yeah, I realize it sounds weird that I’m hoping Brady plays another year but I want to beat him not just wait until he goes away.
