Apparently I thought the OL was much better than they actually are when I predicted they’d allow 6 sacks today.

Same with Allen. It’s called being a rookie with way too much on your plate in a game that’s moving way faster than you’ve ever seen.

“The process” apparently is spending two years ripping out the foundation before the rebuild begins in year 3. This in an era of NFL where one year turn around aren’t uncommon.

You have low expectations. I have low expectations too but in no world was that performance above average. So far this is what I’ve expected, not nearly good enough for a starting QB. He’s young, what we need to see from him is progress, people who expected him to be good right off the bat were deluding themselves .

I haven't noticed him doing this a whole bunch. When he gets into trouble he scrambles and either takes off running or fires it down field. Maybe I'm forgetting some throws but I don't recall him reading the pressure and making the immediate check down.

This is exactly how people get pissed when he struggles. They set unrealistic expectations on the player and when he doesn't immediately look the part they start yelling he's a bust 5 weeks later. Not saying you, personally, will do this. But it's coming to the board. It's coming.

Maybe if he answered the questions instead of saying crap like, "I don't feel the need to elaborate" or "it's part of the process" he wouldn't be asked the same questions time and time again.

This will absolutely happen if he has 2-3 bad games in a row, which is likely for a developmental QB. He’ll be called a bust by many fans by mid-season, I have very little doubt.

Hah, the moment Buffalo reporters ask tough questions and holds the team accountable the fans whine how much they hate said reporter and how all they ever do is spout sour grapes. Bills fans don't want to be told how bad the team is, they want somebody to sugar coat it and tell them everything will get better...eventually.

So I take it from all the people who point out that the Bills’ Oline sucks (and it does) that you guys are willing to give Peterman another shot? I mean, what’s a guy expected to do behind that OLine? Yeah, I’m trolling you a little bit but 4 beers in its pretty funny to me (and likely to me only.)

Oh, you’re preaching to the choir on this one. I didn’t care who McDermot named the starter I just wanted him to do it 3-4 weeks ago so they got the snaps they needed to prepare for the season.

Darnold led his O to 17 points. Josh 3. Take away the 7 he gave away and that’s a +10 point net for Darnold. Darnold has 4 incomplete passes and has shown good accuracy on both short and long throws. I don’t mind the rookie mistake with the pick 6 if the guy shows the fortitude to shake it off and come back strong. Darnold’s done that. Darnold does have better protection so it is easier for him but he looks much better than Allen did yesterday. One game doesn’t a career make though...

I don’t disagree that the protection is better, just finding it humorous how people view the performances in general.

The ball bounced off the defenser’s back. It was not an easy play to make. It could have been made but I’m not killing a guy for not making it. The throw, however, could have been better.

The difference in poster’s perception of the games is that one guy is a Bill and the other guy is a Jet. If Allen did the things Darnold was doing Bills fans would be singing his praises like he’s the 2nd coming. But because of our allegiances we downplay Darnolds play and make Allen sound better than he’s looked.

Every time I see Sam Darnold I can’t help but think of the cliche bully is an 80s movie.
