We are not talking single game sample size. Were talking over a season.

McCown gives the Jets a better chance of winning in the short term.

Prove it wrong

That is not true in the modern NFL. Teams do have to establish a running game to help with down and distance and to establish play action, but good offenses always pass more than they run and it's not because they can't establish the run or they fall behind. It's because the rules make it easy to throw the ball now and the passing game picks up chunk yardage and chunk yardage is how you reliably score points.

McD has the numbers to back up his comments too. He saw 5 guys give consoling pats on the back to teamates who had just failed. He saw 3 guys go a step further and console their failing teamates with a hug. And he saw 2 guys who, at the end of the game, were still trying, really, really hard. All "wins" via Bills' standards in 2018.

Im a big believer in going for it on 4th down, even on 4th and 2 or 3 way more than the HCs in the NFL do it. But your point holds zero water. Zero. This offense is historically bad. The defense is actually pretty good. Why on earth would anyone trust this offense to do anything positive? The probabilities generated by other, functioning, offenses means very little. This team is probably better off punting on 3rd and long just to avoid turnovers than it is going for it in 4th and short.

The posters who like losing for draft position hated last year. It was the worst season in 18 years.

Second half: Wk 9 Bears at Bills, 1 pm FOX

The sad thing is that he doesn’t look any worse than the other Bills QBs today. -
This offense is the result of hubris, not conscious decision to purposely lose. The front office wanted to cut salary and do it quickly. It’s obvious that they were not trying to put the best product on the field that they could. They were thinking of the future while trying to keep just enough talent. Not putting their best product on the field is not the same as “tanking.” That implies they are purposely trying to lose games for draft picks. McDermott is much too competitive a guy for that to be okay with him. I’m sure he thought that, much like last season, he could coach this team to more wins than the talent suggested. I’m sure he expected more from the QB position, more from Benjamin and a much more productive running game. He was wrong about the talent on O and his staff’s ability to “coach them up.” The fact that they are continuously trying to improve the offense with mid season additions (Coleman and Pryor for example) tells me that they are trying to win games. Otherwise, what’s the point? These guys didn’t sign multi year deals. Unless there are posters that have another definition of “tank” than “trying to lose as many games as possible to improve draft position” I’m not sure you could qualify this as a tank. Its just bad football.

True, but that has nothing to do with the Cards signing him for $20M per year. Obviously they aren’t in the hook for all of it, but still, it makes no sense how there is always a team who thinks he’s “the guy.” A mentor doesn’t cost a team $20M per. That’s starter money.

Terrelle Pryor in Buffalo! Update: He's signing!

The problem with mid season pickups at WR is they don't know the playbook and have zero chemistry with the QB. I can't think of many times when a WR came to a team mid season (either via trade or FA) and performed well. -

A 4 year rebuild is far from removing the band aid quickly. It's like slowly tearing it off so you feel each and every hair being ripped out. -

I don't mind a rebuild. What I mind is it taking two full seasons to rip out the foundation before the rebuild can actually begin. This is some ridiculous 4 year plan and in the modern NFL it isn't necessary. Teams can be rebuilt in 2 years and in some cases, the very next year. There was no need to jettison players the way they have been. You don't have to take two years to "clear the cap" you can do it bit by bit every year. -
If Anderson is sidelined due to injury......

It's funny to me that people are so against Peterman. The team isn't winning games no matter who is out there. The team is trotting out the worst starting QB in the league no matter who starts. It's not like Peterman is the difference between winning and losing. He's the difference between losing by 15 and losing by 21. Shrug. -

Many fans seem to want coaches that mirror their own feelings. They want to coach to explode on the sideline in anger to show "fire" and they want the coach to go up in front of the press and throw the bad players under the bus, because that's what they like to do. -
Has the light finally gone on for Zay Jones?
MDH replied to KOKO NFL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He doesn’t have to be special. Every player on the team can’t be special. Jones can be a piece of the puzzle though. -

Minus a Peterman type throw Peterman looked pretty good on the Houston game. -

We haven’t had a progressive thinking HC in forever. So tired of the conservative mindset that believes the D can win games just as long as the offense doesn’t turn the ball over.
