  1. TD drafted a QB in the first round of this year's draft...how is his reputation tied to Bledsoe? That seems an admission that Bledsoe was a mistake to me. I'd Donahoe’s reputation is tied more to WM and Losman at this point. In fact, if Drew sucks it up this year people could conceivably praise Donahoe for having the foresight to draft a QB early. I’ve been a Donahoe supporter up until this point, but if this team continues to play this way the man at the top has to be responsible…and I think he’d be the first one to say as much.
  2. I think I said this about 30 times today. Basically every time we made a stupid mistake... Either we sign the stupidest players in the league to play for us or our coaching staff is once again bad...this team just makes more boneheaded mistakes than any team I've seen in a long time.
  3. That would suck...he's my starting TE on my fantasy team...
  4. Where'd you get this from? I'm talking about the 24 games that RJ had significant playing time with us...the ONLY 24 games, that is, his entire time with the Bills vs. what Drew has done for us over his last 24 games...how is that the "best of RJ vs. the worst of DB?" exactly? Suddenly RJs NFL stint with the Bills = the best of Rob Johnson's career (whatever that means)?
  5. Made the throws? You mean those high passes with no touch and too much power or those passes than bounced at the WRs feet? If the NFL legalizes the skip pass Bledsoe will be the league MVP... If a team sells out on a Blitz NO O-LINE IN THE LEAGUE CAN GIVE HIM MORE THAN 3 SECONDS...there is the rare complete blitz pickup, usually it's up to the QB to make the quick read and GET RID OF THE BALL. 3 of the sacks today were Bledsoe's fault. These Bledsoe excuses have got to stop.
  6. Hey, the Oline is pretty awful, but on 2 or those 3 sacks the guy who got the sack was Shelton's man...our blocking FB needs to learn to pick up the blitz....the other one was on Williams if I'm not mistaken. The other 3 I'd lay on Bledsoe...I'll go back and look at the tape at some point (when I feel like puking) but at first glance that's what I saw.
  7. More likely the D will finally faulter and allow the Pats to score 24+ points...and there is NO WAY IN HELL the Bills O puts up 24+ points against the Pats D. Pats 27 Bills 10 I have a feeling that this team will be much better in the second half of the season, but we're going to dig ourselves such a hole that it'll be too late to salvage the season at that point.
  8. The sad thing is that the Phins O, without Ricky, looks better than ours...not much better mind you, but better. Granted, that's not difficult to do considering that after two weeks I'm of the opinion that this is one of the worst offenses I've ever seeen.
  9. You keep quoting stats as if that proves your point... I’d also mention that Moulds only had 1 fumble last week, to try and even pin that lateral on him is ridiculous. I'm pissed off at the O too, but it doesn't mean every single player on it totally sucks or isn't a top-flight player. As for your stats, I'd say let's see what Moulds numbers look like at the end of the season and then compare them to other top WRs...and then take into account the types of offenses each plays in, the weather conditions they play in and the quality of the talent on those offenses around those WRs (particularly at QB). The fact that you don't want to take these things into consideration illustrates that you don't watch the games, you just look at the stats. Is it a coincidence that the Harrison, Moss, and Holt all play in domes and all play for teams that air it out? No stevestojan WRs who are as talented as those guys and play in those conditions put up monster stats… Moulds might just be the most complete WR in the league, a guy who is big and physical and can go across the middle and who can also go deep. There are guys who do each of these things better than he does but not many, if any, who can do all of them as well as Moulds. I’d also add that last year, when asked who the best WR in the league was besides himself, TO answered “Eric Moulds”. Guys who don’t just look at stats know what kind of WR Moulds is. Stats aren’t everything. Anyway, I’m done with this discussion, we’ll never agree on this and for some reason you seem to have the need to run down every play on the Bills tonight, which is somewhat understandable considering how our season is going.
  10. Same here, took the Pack in both the TBD suicide and in one at work...should have gone with the easy choice and chose the Pats.
  11. Because these lists are based on last year's production...and he was hurt for 11 weeks last year. All the media ever does is go by last year, be it in their predictions for how teams will do this year or who is the best player in the league. It's what have you done for me lately, and a player who was hurt most of last year doesn't get the respect. I've heard Steve Young (a guy who knows a thing or two about football) say that Moulds is the 4th best WR in the league...that means more to me than some poll the NFL network put on their webpage...
  12. Sorry to disagree, but you're wrong. It's easy to look at stats and say, "this guy has better stats, he must be better!" It's a little more difficult to look at what a WR does when he's given opportunities and how the offense works with him and without him. I'm not being a homer, hell that's the last thing anybody that knows me has ever said about me, I'm overly critical of teams and things I love. Moulds isn't a perfect WR by any means, but the guy is, IMO, just as good or better than every WR in the league not named Harrison, Moss, or Owens...even if the stats don't back it up. I'd LOVE to see what a soft WR like Holt would do in the offenses Moulds has played in the last 6 years. I'll tell you what, he wouldn't put up better numbers than Moulds has...though I'm sure you think he would...which is why this debate is pointless, neither of us are going to change our opinion. You need to start watching other teams play. Sure Moulds’ drops irritate you a ton because it’s the Bills, but if you watched these other WRs you notice that "gasp" they drop the ball too… particularly a guy like Owens who drops the ball more than just about any WR in the league.
  13. Damn, it scares me that there is still a Bills fan out there that thinks Bledsoe doesn't shoulder much of the blame...Bledsoe lovers aren't the fanatics that Flutie Flakes were, but damn, it's still kinda scary.
  14. I don't know, I think trading back up into the first round to draft a QB is a pretty strong indication that Dohahoe is willing to fix his mistakes...let's just hope Losman is indeed a "fix".
  15. I'd think that Ralph Wilson has done enough in his life to have earned more respect than this from a Bills fan. Pretty pathetic.
  16. I'd take Moulds over Ward any day of the week...and Holt is a toss up, put Moulds in that offense and see the numbers he'd put up. I'll give you Harrison, Owens and Moss, they are the creme of the crop.
  17. Either that or he'd just sit in the pocket and wait...and wait...and wait...and keep on waiting for a defensive player to knock him down. My unofficial tally is that at least 3 of the sacks today were DB not getting rid of the ball when he should have.
  18. It all starts with the Oline...doesn't matter who you have at the skill positions if the Oline doesn't do its job or the QB can't get the WRs the ball. Henry is a top 12-15RB...and Moulds IS a top 5WR. Both are certainly good enough to do the job with a supporting cast that is worth a damn.
  19. The stat that stands out to me is yards per pass attempt. 7.2 to 6.2...that stat is perhaps the most important for a QB and for RJ to have such an obvious edge is almost laughable... Bledsoe just has no accuracy on his shorter throws, which is problematic when the offense is predicated on those throws now...
  20. Only way this wagon gets moving is if it hits a seriously sleep downhill slope...something to the effect of our next 3 opponents all come down with food poisoning the morning of the game and have to forfeit. You can make a very convincing argument that we are the worst team in the league right now.
  21. Did Mularky say, "we just failed to execute"...because if he didn't then I suppose that's the only thing that's changed.
  22. Are we going to have to have a thread that states this every week? We all know we suck and don't have a 1st round pick next year...thank god we've (hopefully) got a young QB who will replace Bledsoe in the very near future instead of having to wait until next year.
  23. I'm not going to say that stats tell the entire story, because obviously they don't. And even so, the stats I've collected aren't complete. But lets take a look at the stats RJ compiled in the 24 games in which he had significant playing time w/ the Bills to those Drew has compiled in his last 24 games played as a Bill. By "significant playing time" for Johnson, I mean games in which he had 15+ throwing attempts...not games he necessarily started or finished (I’m sure this type of game-by-game info exists on the web, but I couldn’t find it…perhaps somebody else can). Also not included are sacks taken...which I'd REALLY like to see a comparison if anybody knows where to find that info on a game-by-game basis. I’d also like to find out what the offenses averaged per game in these 24 games for each QB (not just total points scored, but what the O put up, not counting D or special teams scores). Anyway: Johnson Record 8-16 Comp 404 Att 671 Comp% 60.2 yds 4818 TD 26 INT 16 Yards per attempt 7.2 684 rushing yards Bledsoe Record 9-15 Comp 424 Att 732 % 57.6 yds 4543 TD 19 INT 21 Yards per attempt 6.2 52 rushing yards You know, if RJ is the end all be it of terrible QBing, DB can't be far behind in terms of production for the Bills. And yes, I fully realize that stats don't paint the entire picture and it's not all Drew's fault, yadda yadda yadda...but by the same token it wasn't all RJ's fault either... In the past few years RJ has gotten lambasted on this board (deservedly so) as a pathetic excuse for a QB...it's gotten so bad that whenever anybody or anything sucks really badly that they = RJ. Perhaps we should change that to = DB.
  24. It's done NOTHING, which is why you go for it, we won't have another TD shot.
  25. We need a TD to win this game...and I for one don't think we'll have a TD drive in the 4th quarter...go for the TD now because it's as close as this O is going to get. If we don't get it, let's hope this D can stop them 3 and out and we can get another shot starting on their side of the field.
