  1. Never said he was a great writer or a great humorist...I said he was one of the best journalists out there when it comes to understanding the game they are covering. I'll take a "football' guy over a "writer" anyday.
  2. I wouldn't say that the Pats game is "everything" but we HAVE to win 2 or our next 3 and that would be a whole lot easier if we beat the Pats. We "should" be able to beat the Phins at home, so we basically need to split with the Pats/Jets. That would put us at 2-3 but with 2 wins within the division.
  3. You guys can rip Dr. Z all you want, the guy has forgotten more about football than most on this board will ever know. I'm not saying he's always right, but he's one of the better football minds out there when it comes to journalists. He understands the game completely, he breaks down something like 6-7 games a week, looking at teams as a whole and at individual players. The guy knows his stuff (if he'd just stop with that whole "flaming redhead" bit...) Peter King on the other hand...
  4. Until proven otherwise the best team in the leauge is the New England Patriots. Which will make the Bills victory that much sweeter this weekend!
  5. I'd also add to that I have no problem with him coming in this season if the season gets out of hand and it's obvious we're not going to the playoffs (which an 0-2 start isn't that time). Once we've lost 8 games and JP is fully healed it's time to prepare for next year, but not before then.
  6. That site is hilarious, the best part was Beck where it says "$cientolgist (this is disputed)"...like all of their other information is factual!
  7. Given the constant flip-flopping of your opinions I'd have to question your tenuous hold on REALITY. You keep typing the word in caps as if the louder you say your opinion the more likely it is to be REAL! The REALITY is that you're always going to be wrong and always going to be right, because you'll always be on both sides of an issue...it all depends on what day/week it is. People might start listening to your opinions on football more if you had the same one for at least 4 straight weeks…
  8. What you're forgetting is that there are 50 other guys on the roster and the organization and coaching staff owe it to those guys to put the best players on the field to give them the best chance of winning. When the best guy is Losman, he should start, not until then. Maybe that day is this year, maybe its next year, but you don't put him on the field until he earns it. Of course I'm not going to preach about REALITY...because this is just my opinion...
  9. Try turning on CNN...the ratio is 100% hot chicks and almost 0% good looking guys...and this is supposed to be "reality" And no, I didn't watch Lost...then again, unless it's sports, a movie, or an HBO series I don't watch TV. The last primetime network show I watched was the last episode of Seinfeld...
  10. Can't...wait...for...baseball...season...to...end...
  11. This might be his most accurate statement...but don't tell that to people on this board who think he's on the verge of the Pro-Bowl...
  12. Whatever, every team has guys like him on it, whether you know it or or care to admit it. If you have to have a guy like that on your team, I'll take Randy Moss!
  13. That was a mistake...I drafted him, but not till the 7th round. I did manage to pick up Heap though, when someone in my league cut him thinking his injury would last most of the year...he's out 2 more weeks.
  14. Heh, this was my first thought as well...was pissed off that neither of the first two were.
  15. Here are a few more from the past few years...was going to give a comment to all of 'em then decided that took too much time... 2004 Before Sunset - Linklater's sequel to Before Sunrise is even better than the original. One of the best films of the year (I'd place it right behind Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind thus far) The Return Goodbye, Dragon Inn Who Killed Bambi? The Five Obstructions Touching the Void 2003 Gerry - Got overshadowed by Van Sant's other film from last year, Elephant, but I preferred this one…though it works much better on the big screen. All the Real Girls Demonlover Friday Night Pistol Opera 2002 Spirited Away - Anyone who hasn't seen any Miyazaki anime needs to check it out. This might be his best though Princess Mononoke is spectacular too. Ten - Any cinephile out there who've never seen an Abbas Kiarostami film should check a few of 'em out (there are many who consider him the greatest filmmaker working today). This isn't as good as The Wind Will Carry Us or Taste of Cherry, but it's pretty damn good. 8 Women - Saw some mentions of Emmanuelle Berte above...she's in this as well for any fans who've missed it (as are Isabelle Hupert and Catherine Denuve). The Piano Teacher Heaven Sunshine State
  16. Jesus, before the bye week you're telling everybody that you're leaving the board because of their sky is falling attitude, and after a BYE you come back with a forget this season let's have a firesale idea. This is a bit much, even for you. As for you points. Yeah, Bledsoe is done, it's pretty obvious. I'm willing to give Moulds more than 2 games to show me he's back...particularly with Bledsoe throwing him the ball. The guy is still a top WR in this league until he shows me otherwise, and two so-so games isn't the proof. Trading Travis is just not a good idea, I'd like to see McGahee get a lot more work before I'd even consider it.
  17. Tied for second right now, though I took Washington tonight which looks to be a loss...I'm sure at some point this year I'll be so busy during a week that I'll totally forget to submit my picks...happened last year, I'm sure I'll put in a repeat performance! :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: to myself!
  18. Don't forget San Fran...they might be the worst team in the league.
  19. The excuses can only stop once posters like yourself stop making them for this Bills team...
  20. So basically what you're saying is that every time he only has 2 seconds to throw he's going to take a sack instead of reacting to the pressure by dumping it off, sliding in the pocket, or throwing the ball away? I've seen TONS of QBs have guys come unblocked at them and many times they still make positive plays. That rarely happens with Drew. Jimmy Johnson had an accurate statement at the half of the Indy/GB game today when he said, "defenses should defense good QBs and Blitz bad ones." Tell me, what do defenses do against Drew? And I don't even want to hear the oline argument, if the D sends more players than the O have blockers someone is going to come free, its up to the QB to make a play.
  21. Sounds like Yankee fans are getting a little nervous to me. Say what you want about the BoSox choking...but I'd hate to have to face Schilling and Martinez in the playoffs...particularly with the putrid pitching that the Yanks have.
  22. GD I'm sick of every woman on TV being judged only on their looks. I feel like I'm watching models when I turn on CNN...I don't want models; I want quality reporters and anchors. Somehow this “good looks” standard doesn’t apply to men though… Same thing with sideline reporting on MNF, the previous poster is dead on. Finally they get their head out of their ass and get somebody who knows football and someone complains that she's not a "babe". You know what, if all you want is a babe pop in some porn, football isn't your thing.
  23. Not a bad choice...wouldn't call it one of my all time favorites, but it's hillariuos and cutting edge, even by today's standards. And to the poster of said Nostferatu that's an excellent choice...if any of the posters on this board would give a silent film a chance, that'd be the one. I'd guess most here would like it (or you could check out what I consider the greatest silent of all time, also by F.W. Murnau, Sunrise). As for "obscure or independent" movies, it all depends on who you're talking to. I could list some movies here that many haven't heard of but in different company they'd say, "who hasn't heard of that?!" (City of God and Requiem for a Dream, two films others mentioned above are pretty mainstream films Imo...not Spider Man mainstream, but they both got plenty of press and did well in theaters). And did somebody seriously answer "Analyze That"? Some of the all time great movies that I'm guessing most here haven't heard of: Tokyo Drifter - Want to check out one of Tarantino's major influences...Suzuki's color coded gangster flick is fantastic. Playtime - Jaques Tati was a master of physical comedy and this is his masterpiece. Bah, I would type of few more but the baby is crying...maybe later.
  24. Did anyone else hear them mention on Monday night what Tice makes? I thought I was hearing things, but I could have sworn they said 150k a year...WTF!? A head coach works incredibly long hours...let's just assume a 90 hour work week (though I've heard tales of longer ones than that for head coaches) and a month of vacation somewhere in the offseason...with those numbers Tice makes roughly 35 dollars an hour... And people thought TD was a cheapskate when he hired GW.
  25. No, no, no. You've missed the part of the line that makes it a classic. "You know I’ve always wanted to pretend to be an architect"
