Yeah, America will cease to be a world power and we'll all die if the guy you don't want to win the election wins. Pure genius.
-
He also had an easy INT that the defender dropped...that being said, I'll take a win any way we can get it, even if it is over an Arizona team that's one of the worst in the league.
-
It's all about his vision. TH wouldn't have had any of those big runs MW had today because on each one of 'em WM started one way, saw a hole someplace else and jumped through it (including his TD run, which appeared to be designed to go inside). As long as he can take the punishment and stay healthy, WM is going to be a very very good back for us.
-
Hey, WM has played very well when he gets a shot and he most definately deserves to start...but let's not get ahead of ourselves. The two games WM has started were against the Dolphins and the Cards...both at home.
-
And now they're taking TDs off the board on phantom holding calls... You know, I can understand a ref missing a call, not seeing something on the field....but calling stuff that doesn't actually happen just drives me crazy.
-
Plays like this make me wonder what exactly is going on with some refs. I mean, between this and the roughing the passer call and its almost like they're just making stevestojan up.
-
This is the single most moronic thing to ever be posted on this board...and that is saying quite a lot.

Can it be true there is so much iognorance here?

McGahee can't prove anything unless given the opportunity. When should that opportunty come? He's playing better than TH right now, he should get the majority of the snaps because of that. If there comes a time when TH begins to play better than WM, then give him the start...it's not that complicated. -
why I'm guaranteeing a Bills loss tom.

When we get in the red zone I don't even want to see one pass attempt. I'll take the 3 points and call it a day. Arizona's O isn't going to put up more than 10 points if we don't turn the ball over. I'll take 4 FGs and the win. -
This from an article linked on TBD homepage... The frownyface emote just doesn't cut it for this stat...we need one with tears streaming down the face.

So getting to the World Series and getting swept...and not just getting swept, but getting totally owned...that doesn't constitute "choking"? That's a bigger choke that losing in 7 in my book. The Cards lost as many games in a row to the Sox as the Yanks did, they just forgot to win the first 3…

Nobody disputes this...it doesn't make Bledsoe a good QB just because the line sucks though. As for off the island, I would say Drew, but I wouldn't mind the guy here next year as a backup QB for Losman, though I'm not sure what his cap numbers are, so that would play a part in the decision. Mike Williams I'm still willing to give time to develop, at least as a guard. The guy I'd vote off: Coy Wire. Waste of a roster space if ever there was one.

Logic = Stats...that's pretty much the summation of your position. First of all, there is more to the RB position than simply running the ball. Blitz pickups are a part of the job. Henry might just be the worst back in the league when it comes to picking up the blitz. Catching the ball out of the backfield is also part of the job. Henry is one of the worst receiving backs in all of football. Both of these things hinder what an offense can do in terms of play calling and it also makes it easy for a defense to defend our O. Now, let's get to the topic of running styles. Henry is a straight-ahead runner who lacks the vision to see holes that aren't where the play is supposed to be. The guy runs headlong into a pile no matter what. Why? Because that's where the play is designed to go. With an Oline that isn't doing the great job at opening up the holes where they're supposed to be, this type of back is a killer to the offense. Willis is a more patient back that waits to see where the hole will open up, and once he sees it he squirts through the hole picking up positive yardage, even if its just a few yards...and even if it's not where the run was supposed to go. This can't be discounted. The difference between picking up a few yards on first and second downs and putting ourselves in 3rd and short situations is huge. Henry wasn't putting us in 3rd and short situations when he was getting the majority of the carries. Also, on the rare occasions where we were in 3rd and 4th and short, Henry failed to pick up the much-needed first downs. Another thing that must be considered is Henry's health. The guy gets injured each and every year because his running style is a punishing one, both to defenses and, unfortunately, to himself. He is already starting to lose something because of this punishment and he isn't a long-term solution for our running game because of it. The wear and tear on his body is going to shorten his career and limit his effectiveness in coming seasons (an argument can be made that this is already the case). Also, Willis, even though he’s not back to 100%, still has more burst than Henry. When’s the last time you saw Henry squirt through for a 31 yard gain? Hell, when’s the last time you saw Henry run over defenders like Willis has been doing over and over again. Willis has more power, speed than Henry. He also has better vision and is better at blitz pickups and catching the ball out of the backfield. Perhaps if you got your nose out of the stat column at NFL.com and started watching what these backs are doing THIS year, you’d see this. You can spout off stats from 2 years ago all you want, they have no bearing whatsoever on this team, right now. Anybody who has watched the games (that includes the coaches who watch the game film) can see that Willis is out producing Henry this season. You play the guys who are playing the best right now, posting stats from seasons past isn't going to make Henry better today. Nobody is talking about trading Henry right now...the trade deadline has passed. So we now have the luxury of finding out what Willis can do for the rest of the season, and if he doesn't work out, guess what, we still have Travis under contract for next year. -

Your posts look like a kindergartner that has gotten into the finger paints. Does your version of logic dictate that if you shout and bold all of your opinions this validates them? Despite your contentions, your opinion isn’t based on logic, its based on stats (and TH isn’t a top 5RB even using just stats…). Unfortunately (for you) stats don’t tell the entire story. But go ahead, caps, bold and color the wall to your delight! Just don’t think this makes you a particularly logical being. -
Two things jump out at me here: 1) Steve Young is way too low on that list. I think an arguement can be made that he's one of the top 3 QBs of all time. In his prime I've never seen a better QB in my lifetime. 2) How pathetic has the QB position been for the Bills when a career backup makes the top 5 QBs of all time?
-
You keep giving Vick as an expample of how sitting is benificial. This is about the worst example you could give. Did sitting a year teach him how to take off running? It surely hasn't helped his passing game. Pennington I'll give you, but there's no proof that the guy wouldn't have been just as effective had he played immediately. What about Palmer? Has sitting helped him? What about Rothelsburger? Should he be sitting?

Talk about ignorant...if you think Henry is a top 5RB in this league you don't watch any other teams play but the Bills... -
Jim Brown or Gayle Sayers...can't decide.

If you could trade for any ONE player

Peyton Manning. Our oline sucks, but Peyton makes quick reads and accurate throws, even with our Oline we'd be a playoff team with just this one player change. -
Those who think Bledsoe has still 'got it'
MDH replied to Tolstoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Drew's accuracy on the short pass was never, well...very accurate. He's only ever had touch on the long ball, and I'd say he still has that. -
Yep, Yankee fans would never do anything like that. In fact, all the crimes in NYC are committed by people who aren't Yankee fans. All of the belligerent people in the subways, yep, none of 'em are Yankee fans. All of sports fans in NYC that are poor losers, right again, none of 'em are Yankee fans. In fact, there’s not a single Yankee fan out there who has ever done anything wrong…they’re all BoSox fans. Yankee fans are perfect, I wish Boston would just drop off the face of the Earth... The mentality behind the, "our fans are better than your fans" statement is beyond me. Like rooting for a sports team makes people different somehow...every team has idiots, poor winners, poor losers and embarrassments to humanity rooting for them. They just SEEM more annoying when they root for an opposing team. And no, I'm not a BoSox fan.
-
I don't have a problem with them being called out...by the media, by the fans, by themselves, or by the coaching staff (or IN HOUSE by other players). I have a problem when a player who is playing poorly himself starts trying to cover his own ass by pointing the finger at others in the press.

Damn, you know our season is in the stevestojaner when in the middle of the football season people are discussing what they had for lunch.
-
The day I give a stevestojan what Drew's family thinks I'll ask 'em how I can parent with dignity. Drew made a full recovery, he didn't die or lose a limb. Is his family still in mourning over that hit 3 years later? What about Tom Brady’s family? Do they count too? Hell, now that we’re considering everybody’s family’s feelings, I think we should just shut the board down because, you know, we might hurt their feelings.

Get a sense of humor. Nobody really wants him to get hurt, it was a joke. Though, if you think about it, if a Pats fan had to come up with the 10 most important moment in Pats football history, that Mo Lewis hit has to be in the top 5, most likely #3 after the two SB wins.
