  1. That really sucks. I don’t wish injuries on anybody...except Brady. If Brady goes down, F him. Anybody else, they have my empathy.
  2. I don’t get many people’s inability to admit they were wrong. It’s a lesson I keep trying to teach my son. Learn the phrase, “my bad” and you’ll look like less of an idiot in the long run. I hated the Allen draft pick. Hated it. I, like many here, watched all the pre-draft analysis and came away thinking he was bust city. Watching him in year one he was much better than I thought and defiantly not anywhere near busy territory. I don’t know if he’ll develop into a long term franchise guy for us but he defiantly looks the part so far.
  3. Billy knows how to find the ladies...
  4. You think Cam calls the shots? I dont like the guy but anybody competing at this level wants to play. He’s not hiding from anybody.
  5. This D is going to be very good without Clowney. I hope they don’t trade offensive assets to secure a one year rental on D.
  6. It’s interesting that he though Ford played well and Oliver struggled. Most observers had the opposite take. I wonder, what were Cosell’s pre-draft evaluations of those guys?
  7. Wait, so what happened to no helmet no football? You mean he was causing a scene for the sake of causing a scene? Who woulda thunk it?
  8. ? Paying top dollar for mediocre talent, even at QB, is a recipe for disaster. I’d let him walk and keep drafting QBs.
  9. I might thank Scott if he’d update the link to the Bills 2019 schedule. Just total laziness! ?
  10. While not insane, I think it’s your fandom that makes you confident. The team should definitely compete for a Wild Card spot and I think they have a decent chance but confidence is reserved for teams that are supposed to compete for division titles and unless Brady gets injured, that’s likely not happening.
  11. It happens when they’re younger. I’ve seen it a few times at TE where a special athlete is a rarity. At RB, most NFLers are great athletes. The other day Wade hit a mammoth hole against Colts defenders who also won’t be on the active roster when opening day arrives.
  12. I’ll rain on the parade. Wade has zero chance of making the active roster this year. I doubt he’ll ever make an active roster. Its a a great story and I admire the hell out of Wade for walking away from a sport he was fantastic at to start at the bottom in a totally new sport...but being a great athlete isn’t nearly enough to make a roster. The NFL is full of world class athletes who have played the sport their entire lives. Throw Gurley or Zeke or any top tier RB into rugby and they’d have zero chance of making a team too.
  13. Yeah, I was totally lying. I’ve been arrested 5 times and can’t get a job since I shot a guy in ‘98.
  14. I stayed until 4am closing at NYC bars plenty of times in my youth. I never had an issue. I have plenty of great memories hanging out with college friends. Pick the right places and avoid trouble and trouble tends to avoid you.
  15. Before last season Oliver was projected as contending with Bosa for #1 overall. One much publicized confrontation with a coach later and he falls to the Bills. Thank god Oliver was cranky that day or he never makes it to the Bills. We deserve a little luck.
  16. What took you so long?
  17. I saw most of his games at UCLA. While he was smart with the ball most of the time he had plenty of instances of “hero ball” too. He and Allen have that very much in common.
  18. HBO is loving this I’m sure. Ratings bonanza!
  19. To be fair, he is a 2nd year player playing for his 2nd coaching staff and in his 2nd offense in his first pre-season game. Not exactly great circumstances for a young QB. I’m guessing the game is speeding by him and his mind is just trying to catch up.
  20. Yep, he absolutely does those things. Im not absolving Jones, he’s a flawed product. Personally, I’d rather have a guy who gets open consistently and drops a couple than a guy who struggles to get open with great hands. I’m guessing that’s where the coaching staff is at this point too. Once the Bills have better options in the WR room Zay will be gone if he hasn’t improved.
  21. That’s just crazy. It’s like he believes his WR skills are imbued to him through his helmet.
  22. I hear you but he doesn’t drop many where it’s that cut and dry. He drops contested balls or when it’s a “bang bang” play or a Safety is about to lay the wood on him. I also think some of the drops last season (by the team, not just Zay) is because they’re just not used to how quickly the ball gets on them when Allen throws it. They’re likely not used to how hard it hits their hands either. I’d expect a lower drop rate from the WRs who were on the team last year, and perhaps a higher drop rate than normal from Brown and Beasley as they’re not used to it yet.
  23. People are going way overboard on the Zay hate. So the guy dropped a pass because he heard footsteps. It happens. It’s funny how people will excuse Allen’s bad throws as “it happens” but expect the WRs to be perfect. All that hate comes from wanting Allen to look better stat wise. Who gives a crap about pre season stats? Also, theres a reason that Allen keeps looking Zay’s way - he gets open, a lot. If Allen was more accurate and Zay had better hands he’d put up big numbers. But neither of those things seem to be on the immediate horizon. Zay runs solid routes, has good body control and has a knack for finding an open spot in the D. Just accept that he’s a flawed receiver otherwise but still has value. The good news is that this year Zay is #3 instead of #1.
  24. Zay had more receptions, more yards and more TDS than Foster last year. Tell me again how Foster had a better season? Because Foster did it in fewer games? That’s because Foster got cut and placed on the practice squad for 4 games. That ain’t a “better season.”
  25. Points allowed is more of a team metric, not strictly a D metric. Yards are strictly a D metric. If an offense turns the ball over consistently is it really the Ds fault that they allow more points than another team’s D whose offense holds onto the ball? If an offense routinely moves the ball and pins opposing teams after a punt, is that D better because they don’t allow teams to drive 90 yards for a TD? To me points allowed us much like batting average in MLB. It tells you something but is far from painting a complete picture. A true indicator of how good a D is somewhere in the middle. Yards, points allowed, turnovers caused, first downs allowed...combined they are all indicators of a Ds quality. I’m sure someone has a new metric that combines these things into a rankings system.
