I have that feeling too. I also have the feeling they’ll lose one of the games everybody thinks they’ll win (Miami, Denver or the Jets.)

One important question I have on the last drive
MDH replied to Thunderstruck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's called a blitz. There are more rushers than OL, they can't block everybody. That is on the QB to identify the blitz and know the right place to go with the ball. The Browns sent 7 and the Bills have only 5 OL, they can't block them all. Allen is horrible at beating the blitz. One of the worst in the league and until he gets better at it teams are going to keep sending it. All that said, Dawkins got beat on that play but it didn't effect anything, there were 3 guys running free instead of 2. Josh had his mind made up where he was going pre snap. On a 3rd and 4 with the Bills needing to get 10 yards closer for the FG they took a shot down field. -
This team is still a year away

The Bills are always a year away. -
Yep, D makes the stop and the Bills win. O scores more than 2 TDS and the Bills win. Hausch hits his FGs and the Bills win. There is never a single thing you can point to and say that’s the reason the team lost. There are always multiple things that the team could have done differently. In general, I’d like to think that the O needs to score more than 14 before the D is blamed.

Why is he a thug?

When can we start to admit that the process failed?
MDH replied to ShipUPride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought they’d be 10-6. At this point I’d say they’re more likely to finish 9-7 and struggle to make the playoffs despite and all time cup cake schedule. -
Hauschka is at 61.5% for the season
MDH replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, they seemed too content to attempt a long FG. They should have had more urgency to get inside the 30 a worst. -

All Allen requires to “win the game for us” is the D holding teams to fewer than 14 points. Otherwise, Ds fault. -

If all you want to talk about are results and not the details of the game why come to a message board at all. It would just be a bunch of threads titled, “6-3!” And a bunch of responses “6-3!!!” Fun. -
There were lots of problems today but I agree in general. If you are going to play a grind it out, low scoring type of game a fantastic kicker is a must. Haush isn’t great, he’s good enough. His miss just before halftime of the NE game cost the team too.

One forced turnover by Bills D in five weeks
MDH replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It’s funny that you mention Frazier not blitzing a lot when a blitz played a big part in costing the team a win. Scoring in the red zone is tough because you have a lot of defenders compressed into a small space. Frazier cleared out that space for the offense by blitzing on that game winning TD. Just a horrible call in that part of the field. The D has held tough al day In the red zone and Frazier decides to put Wallace on an island. Sigh. -
Yeah, I’m with you in a that I’m a 46 year old man who turns into a petulant teenager when I watch the Bills. Football season between 1-4pm aren’t my brightest moments.

It was a forward pass, it was obvious after the first replay. That play was an example of exactly why teams run it that way, so if there is a problem with the play it’s an imcomplete pass and not a fumble.
-
Throwing the deep ball short of the WR has a good shot at getting the pass interference call or your WR making a play. Throwing it 5-10 yards in front is just a long throw away. Give your f’n WRs a chance to make a play. It’s so infuriating. It doesn’t matter if you have a bazooka for an arm if there’s no targeting system.
-
Nothing about today was above average QB play. It’s like all fans are asking of Allen is to not turn them ball over and if he does that it’s “good enough.” Hell, he was lucky as hell he didn’t turn they ball over and we got that 2nd TD.

Singletary finishes with EIGHT rushing attempts
MDH replied to wiseman3's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I totally agree that the Bills should have run more today and not just run more but attacked the edges of the Browns’ D. That said, WRs were open a lot today and Allen missed them. Consistently. So, the complaint is really, “Daboll needs to protect the Bills from bad QB play by not relying on the QB to make plays.” Personally, I agree with this but there are plenty of people on this board who simultaneously think Allen is doing a good job AND want the Bills to feature the running game. -
Some mid-season thoughts re Allen and the team
MDH replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There were defenders of every QB the Bills have trotted out in the past 20 years on this board. It’s always somebody else’s fault. Eventually they see what’s obvious to others a full season before. QB play is an issue. Im not willing to give up on Allen yet. He’s shown signs of growth in some areas. IMO , he gets this season AND next but it doesn’t mean I have to lie to myself about how well hes’s playing. He is, easily, a bottom 5-7 starting QB. -
This loss could be the start of the collapse (schedule talk)
MDH replied to dayman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I see WRs running open down field and across the middle and the QB missing by a mile on long throws and throwing consistently low and behind WRs over the middle. He’s almost always a split second slow on his throws as well. This last critique I’ll forgive because he’s a young QB and the game moves fast for young QBs. The inaccurate throws aren’t a product of being young. -

I won’t be shocked if the Phins beat them next week. This is a team that plays everybody close, no matter how bad they are. The offense can’t score consistently against bad teams, that means bad teams might make a game winning drive to win the game. -
Bills at Browns Post Game Post Mortem

Everybody doesn’t think they’re pretenders because of play calling, run D and the kicker. They think the QB isn’t good and can’t carry them when they need it. If you put Watson or Mahomes on this team everybody would have faith in the Bills. -
Game Thread 2nd Half Bills vs Browns

And if that ball isn’t tipped that would have been the game winning screen. Nobody was there to stop him, Allen has to get that ball over the blitz. -
Game Thread 2nd Half Bills vs Browns
MDH replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is. He has a long learning curve but that was the book on him coming out of college. Learning curve aside, he has the worst long ball I’ve ever seen at the NFL level. He’s nowhere near the WR. -
That all sounds good but he doesn't get open on a consistent basis. He’s slow with very little burst out of his cuts. He has to be able to catch contested balls because he struggles to actually get separation. Id rather have a guy that drops a ball every now and then but is always open than a guy who struggles to get open.

I don’t get the love fest for Duke on this board.
